Key Takeaways
- Keke Palmer showed off a crisp bob on the BET Awards red carpet—the perfect haircut to help you keep cool all summer long.
- She paired the short, deep chestnut-colored hairstyle with a vintage midnight blue Chanel minidress.
There are a lot of hairstyles I could easily “sorry to this man” these days. The wolf cut?! I barely know her anymore.
But the bob… the bob could be walking down the street and I would absolutely know a thing. Especially if the person rocking it was Keke Palmer.
On Monday, June 9, Palmer attended the BET Awards at Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. Though she’s seemingly always booked and busy, the 31-year-old didn’t have to host or perform at the event—she simply got to enjoy the show. While showing off a perfect summer haircut, of course.

Falling right past her shoulders—the perfect neck-cooling length for hot summer days, mind you—Palmer’s bob was middle parted and straightened to perfection. The blunt ends curved slightly inward, emphasizing the elegance of the one-length cut. Who needs major layers and framing when your face stands so well on its own?
The singer has been loving red hair these days; she even added “THEE Ginger Doll” to her Instagram bio. Thus, she stuck with a rich chestnut shade for the event. Her roots and baby hairs were kept darker, a nod to her natural brunette hair color.

The Rest of the Look
Palmer paired the bob with glowy skin, a pearly pale purple-pink sharp almond-shaped manicure, and shimmery shadow and an expertly lined lip by her go-to makeup artist, Kenya Alexis.

As for her outfit, the fashionista once again went the vintage route with a Chanel Haute Couture fall/winter 1993 dress sourced at LILY et Cie by stylist Molly Dickson. Designed by Karl Lagerfeld, the plunging, partly sheer mini is made from dark blue tulle layered with gold sequins for a little modesty.

On the red carpet, she had fun showing off her similarly sequined tulle train, which was short enough that there was no danger of her stepping on it with her black patent leather pumps.
