Woman’s boyfriend tells her ‘20 girls’ will hit him up if she posts him online. So she does

Be honest, do you want this man? Beauty is subjective. What one person finds irresistible, another might scroll past on a dating app without a second thought.

Who hasn’t pulled the “they just don’t photograph well” or “they look better in person, I swear” when trying to convince your friends about why you’re attracted to a person you know they’re going to shoot down?

But this guy is convinced he’s everybody’s type—so his girlfriend put it to the test.

People’s reactions may surprise you.

Man claims every woman wants him

In a viral video with more than 8.3 million views, content creator Hannah (@traphousehannah) shared the surprising opinion that just came out of her boyfriend’s mouth.

“My man claims that if I post him that 20 girls would hit him up saying that they want him,” Hannah recounted.

“Who wants him?” Hannah said with him sitting next to her.

It seems he didn’t expect Hannah to actually do it, because when she turned the camera toward him he was covering his face with both hands and the majority of what we could see is that he’s blond but has roots growing in, he has an ear piercing, and likes baseball caps.

“You’re so confident. You think the [expletive] want him?” Hannah concluded while laughing.

Hannah’s boyfriend likely didn’t expect to get so swiftly and thoroughly humbled by the comment section, which is majority women.

“I want him.. out of your video queen,” a top comment read.

“U laughing in his face is sending me,” a person said.

“Face reveal at the end was silencing,” another wrote.

“We don’t want drug store vanilla ice,” a commenter joked.

Why are men so confident?

So where does this delulu come from? Turns out there’s science behind it. Men are statistically more confident than women. (Annoying? Yes. Surprising? Not really.)

Research finds that men tend to overestimate their abilities while women underestimate theirs, regardless of actual performance. For example, a Hewlett-Packard internal report found that men tend to apply for a job if they meet 60% of the qualifications, while women tend to apply if they meet 100% of the requirements.

That’s exactly what’s happening in this viral moment.

Hannah’s boyfriend genuinely believes a ton of women are drooling over him. Even if he knows he’s not objectively attractive, he’s overestimating his desirability.

Some other societal reasons why men tend to be overly confident:

  • They’re conditioned towards it from an early age and are taught to be bold and take risks, while girls are taught caution and politeness.
  • It’s more socially acceptable for men to brag and take up space without being judged.
  • Less worry about how they’re being pierced translates to less fear of rejection.
  • Imposter syndrome hits women harder.
