Jason Statham and action go hand in hand, but when the action flick is topped with some magnificent creatures, it gets even better. While the fan favorite actor has gone up against many foes when he comes face to face with a megalodon, the movie becomes a thriller that keeps you glued to your seats.

One such movie keeping fans engaged is Meg 2: The Trench, a sequel to Statham’s 2018 sci-fi action flick The Meg. As per FlixPatrol, Meg 2 has found a spot in Tubi’s top 10 list at number 4. The feature directed by Ben Wheatley is standing tall among films like Evolution, Lethal Weapon and its sequel, The Devil’s Advocate, and more.

In Meg 2: The Trench, Statham returns as Jonas Taylor to lead a research team on an exploratory dive into the deepest depths of the ocean. Their voyage turns into chaos when a mining operation threatens their mission and forces them into a high-stakes battle for survival. Stuck between colossal, prehistoric sharks and environmental plunderers, the group must outrun, outsmart, and outswim their predators.

The film garnered mixed reviews and couldn’t compare to its predecessor at the box office, earning $397.8 million worldwide in contrast to

The Meg’s $529 million box office haul. But the film certainly polarized the critics and the audience, as seen in the movie’s Rotten Tomatoes score: 27 percent critics rating vs 72 percent audience rating. So, no doubt, with the audience’s approval, the movie is climbing the streaming charts. Along with Statham as Jonas Taylor, the movie also cast Wu Jing as Jiuming Zhang, Sophia Cai as Meiying, Cliff Curtis as Mac, Page Kennedy as DJ, Sergio Peris Mencheta as Montes, and Skyler Samuels as Jess. Further rounding off the cast are Melissanthi Mahut as Rigas, Whoopie Van Raam as Curtis, Kiran Sonia Sawar as Sal, Felix Mayr as Lance, and Sienna Guillory as Hilary Driscoll, and more.

Where Will We See Jason Statham Next?

Quite a few places, actually. The actor is book and busy as he’s set to star in Jean-François Richet’s Mutiny where he stars opposite Annabelle Wallis and Adrian Lester. Statham is also working on the sequel to The Beekeeper, which David Ayer will produce and will be directed by Nobody 2 helmer Timo Tjahjanto. Furthermore, the actor will reprise Deckard Shaw for Fast X: Part 2.
