Key Takeaways

  • Chartreuse is one of fall’s top color trends, striking a happy medium between butter yellow and Brat green for a vivid yet surprisingly wearable take.
  • Knits in the bold hue are particularly popular this season, as are handbags and accessories for a pop of color.

Fall’s color palette is typically ruled by neutrals—from rich chocolate browns to head-to-toe black—with the occasional hint of burgundy or rust. But this season’s color trends are delivering a breath of fresh air. Taking center stage? Chartreuse: the statement-making, citrusy hue that lives somewhere between butter yellow and Brat green. From the fall 2025 runways to the street style scene, chartreuse is boldly revitalizing autumnal dressing—especially when paired with seasonal chocolate and camel tones. Whether in the form of cozy knits, sleek outerwear, or belts and bags, fashion insiders are trading their butter yellow pieces for vibrant shades of chartreuse. The result packs a punch when paired with any fall aesthetic—whether you’re leaning into a Nancy Meyers-coded Cotswolds fall or full-on witchy dark romance.

Ready to go bolder and brighter this fall? Ahead, we share everything you need to know about the chartreuse color trend, complete with surprisingly wearable pieces to shop now.

About the Trend

Chartreuse is the evolution of two color trends that have been reigning supreme for some time now: butter yellow and Brat green. Last summer, Charli XCX’s Brat album drop led to the complete takeover of the striking neon hue, with everything from Brat green manicures to party-ready slip dresses. On the opposite end of the spectrum, butter yellow emerged as a subdued pastel that became so ubiquitous it earned the status of a neutral in its own right. The color made a splash on spring 2025 runways from Toteme to Chloé to Miu Miu, as well as on A-listers: Think Timothee Chalamet’s 2025 Oscars look and Sabrina Carpenter’s on-stage ensembles.

Now, chartreuse is stepping forth as the next iteration of both color trends. It appeared across the fall 2025 runways at Prabal Gurung, Christopher John Rogers, Gucci, and Prada, in an array of tones and textures. From silky midi skirts to bold outerwear, designers showed that this vibrant hue is more versatile than you might think—with the ability to weave it into your fall wardrobe in many forms.

The Appeal

Landing somewhere between butter yellow and Brat green, chartreuse serves as a versatile middle ground, especially when it comes to fall dressing. It delivers the same hit of vibrancy that made Brat green go viral, but with a softer, more wearable energy—think less “main character at the club” and more “cool girl at the coffee shop.”

The best part? Chartreuse goes with almost everything. Pair it with rich chocolate brown for a luxe feel, gray for something unexpected, or denim for a ’70s-inspired boho moment. Whether it’s a silky skirt, a modern knit, or a shoulder bag that does the talking, chartreuse invokes a pop of unexpected color into your fall wardrobe—reinvigorating your seasonal palette without stepping too far outside your comfort zone. It’s daring and effortlessly cool all at once.

How to Style

The key to styling chartreuse this fall is all about balance. Ground the vibrant yellow-green hue with rich, earthy tones like chocolate brown, tan, or soft gray. Try weaving it into your fall layers—think a hint of a chartreuse blouse peeking out from under a knit or a statement jacket that instantly wakes up an all-neutral ensemble.

Ready to go bolder? Lean into the color with a chartreuse blazer styled alongside a brown leather or silk midi skirt. The mix of tones and textures feels both fresh and undeniably ready for fall. Balancing chartreuse with a deep autumnal shade tempers its brightness, making it feel wearable, modern, and effortlessly cool.

Alternatively, try working the hue into your fall lineup in knit form. A chartreuse sweater vest layered over a crisp button-down and tie offers a fresh, trend-forward spin on preppy style. For something with more edge, layer a chunky, oversized chartreuse knit under a boxy leather bomber. The contrast of cozy and cool gives classic fall dressing a modern twist.

Not quite ready to go full chartreuse? Dip a toe into the trend with accessories—a statement mini bag, for example—or choose a piece with just a hint of the hue, like A$AP Rocky’s chartreuse-accented trench at Paris Fashion Week.

30 Suede Fall Fashion Finds From $23 http://livelaughlovedo.com/30-suede-fall-fashion-finds-from-23/ http://livelaughlovedo.com/30-suede-fall-fashion-finds-from-23/#respond Tue, 23 Sep 2025 11:58:44 +0000 http://livelaughlovedo.com/2025/09/23/30-suede-fall-fashion-finds-from-23/ [ad_1]

Suede is everywhere this season, and it’s easy to see why. The rich texture instantly reads fall—plush, warm, and a little retro—while still being versatile enough to wear with just about anything. A suede jacket adds depth to everyday layers, comfy shoes feel more elevated in this finish, and travel bags in earthy tones look like they were made for crisp autumn days.

The best part? You don’t need to splurge to pull it off. Faux-suede pieces nail the look for less, while real suede is worth the investment if you want something that lasts. Either way, this season’s suede trend is the rare mix of practical and polished—perfect for city strolls, weekend trips, and even airport outfits. I rounded up the 30 suede fashion finds from Nordstrom, Amazon, and more that prove why this classic fall texture is popping up in closets everywhere. Plus, prices start at just $23.

Best Suede Fall Fashion Finds

Suede Pants

Suede pants bring instant texture to fall outfits and are surprisingly easy to wear once you work them into your wardrobe rotation. Since the fabric has a warm, seasonal feel, suede pants are a stylish upgrade from denim when you want to elevate your look while staying comfortable. Pair straight-leg suede pants with a crisp white T-shirt and loafers for a daytime look, or style a wide-leg version with a cozy knit and ankle boots for weekend dinners.

Suede Dresses

A suede dress instantly channels that cool, retro energy fall fashion is known for, while still remaining modern and wearable. The material gives even simple dress styles an extra dimension, whether it’s a mini dress styled with tall boots or paired with black sheer tights and kitten heels. The texture works especially well in rich autumn shades, especially caramel, chocolate, or olive, that look right at home from city streets to weekend trips. And because suede naturally has weight to it, these dresses have that cozy-meets-polished balance that’s perfect for in-between fall weather.

Suede Sneakers

Suede sneakers are everywhere this season, and it’s easy to see why. The retro slim-sole silhouette feels fresh again, especially when reimagined in deep browns, forest greens, or even a bold pop of red. The soft texture adds a touch of richness, and they’re just as easy to pair with jeans and a trench coat for weekend wandering as they are with tailored trousers for a city-to-airport look. And because they’re cushioned and walkable, they strike that sweet spot between stylish and practical—a true fall travel essential. Think classic Adidas Gazelles, Puma shoes, and more.

Suede Jackets

Nothing says fall like a suede jacket, whether you’re slipping into a sharp blazer for transitions from workdays to happy hour or throwing on a bomber jacket in a rich wine shade for weekend strolls. The material’s textured finish brings depth to any outfit, making even jeans and a T-shirt feel instantly more styled. A cropped suede jacket can even become the outfit on its own—especially with coordinating shorts—while a trench coat pairs beautifully with a black maxi dress and knee-high boots for that moody autumn energy. Think of suede outerwear as the in-between layer you’ll wear on repeat, from crisp mornings in the city to breezy evenings abroad.

Suede Boots

If there’s one shoe that defines fall, it’s a suede boot. The material adds warmth and texture that leather alone can’t achieve, and the styling options are endless. Mini boots are the cozy go-to—perfect for a casual flight with a matching lounge set or a Sunday coffee run in jeans and a knit. Mid-calf silhouettes strike the balance between sleek and effortless, pairing just as well with denim cutoffs in early fall as they do with a midi skirt once the chill sets in. And when you want height, suede knee-high boots or rider-inspired styles instantly turn any look, whether city nights or countryside weekends, into something chic.

Suede Bags

Suede bags are having a moment, and they’re exactly the kind of accessory that makes a fall outfit feel pulled together. The slouchy texture softens structured looks and elevates casual ones, whether you’re carrying a laptop-ready tote bag to the office or a crossbody for a day of sightseeing. Rich earth tones lean into the season’s palette, while hobo shapes and mini shoulder bags feel especially of-the-moment. Swap your summer straw tote for a suede carryall and suddenly jeans and a T-shirt read as polished, not plain—a chic hack for both city days and travel days.

Suede Flats

This fall, the flat shoes trend gets an upgrade in suede. The plush texture brings just enough richness to make everyday styles—like ballet flats and Mary Janes—feel seasonal and sophisticated. They’re the kind of shoe you can wear all day without thinking twice: with denim for a weekend market stroll, with a silk slip skirt for dinner, or tucked into your carry-on as your “dressier but still walkable” option for travel. Think of them as a lightweight, versatile alternative to boots when you want polish without bulk.

This Theory cardigan is a cold-weather staple for its cable-knit construction and full-length zipper for bundling up with ease. color combinations fall, how to wear color, styling color 2025, maroon styling

As I showed in my clothing color combination guide and in many of my daily outfits, I’m clearly a maximalist color lover. One of my favorite parts of every changing season is deciding which hues I want to add or expand in my wardrobe – and lately, I’ve got fall fashion on my mind. If you’ve been wondering about the best colors to wear this fall, you’re in the right place.

For this season, I always reach for the classics – deep browns, pretty tans, timeless navy, autumnal olive, and, of course, black. But I also like to have some fun by adding a “pop” color (or two!). Nothing excites me more than thinking about the new (or new-to-me) shades I want to experiment with. Today, I’m sharing the hues I’m most excited about, tips for mixing and matching, and simple ways to bring fresh color into your fall wardrobe.

Top 5 Colors to Wear This Fall

Let’s jump right in and chat about my top five colors to wear this fall! These shades are in addition to the classics. While I love adding a bold pop of color—or even trying a full monochromatic look—the timeless autumnal hues and neutrals will always have a place in my fall color palette. They create the perfect backdrop, and the right unique color can be the finishing touch that makes any outfit feel fresh and current.

Robust Oranges & Bright Rust

While I probably have every color of the rainbow in my wardrobe, orange and purple are the shades I own the least. That said, I’ve noticed orange trending for fall 2025 – and I’m loving it. It’s the perfect transitional color: it gives off a cozy fall vibe while still feeling bright and cheerful, before the deeper, darker winter palette arrives.

This season, I’m especially drawn to orange paired with robin’s egg blue. I also love more tonal combinations, like red with orange or mustard with orange. It’s a bold yet wearable choice that instantly adds personality to your fall wardrobe colors.

Teal & Light Blues

When it comes to cool tones, I’m all about a deep, beautiful teal or a brighter, happier light blue. These shades pair perfectly with many of the colors to wear this fall. Light blue with red makes a stunning combo, while teal with maroon creates such a lovely match.

Over the years, I’ve collected quite a bit of teal jewelry – many pieces you can spot in my Dorsey jewelry post. I’m especially excited to experiment with adding those accents to my fall wardrobe.

Chartreuse

Pops of chartreuse have been trending for a while, as I showed in my green outfit ideas post. And its popularity only continues to grow for fall 2025. The shade feels vibrant yet moody, which makes it the perfect autumnal hue.

One of the reasons I love chartreuse is how versatile it looks across different fabrics. From an elegant silk to a fluffy, cozy mohair, this hue adapts beautifully. I’ve recently styled it in a dress-and-jacket look, as well as a playful printed outfit. And I can’t wait to keep incorporating this shade into upcoming looks.

Maroon

Maroon, oxblood, burgundy (call it what you want) this color is always a must-have for fall dressing. I’m especially excited to incorporate the darker, deeper reds that are trending for 2025 into my wardrobe. This shade is magical when paired with a timeless tan or mocha brown, but it also looks amazing alongside red or even chartreuse.

Honorable Mention: Mustard Yellow

Yellow can be a tricky shade to pull off, but when styled correctly, it’s such a fun hue to wear. The deeper, richer tones of yellow are especially great colors to wear this fall. These shades feel more sophisticated, and the darker tone allows them to pair effortlessly with brown, tan, and navy. Mustard yellow can even add a collegiate vibe to a preppy look—which, as you know, I’m loving this season!

My Favorite Combinations of Colors to Wear This Fall

Now that we’ve explored some of my favorite autumnal hues, let’s talk about pairing these shades together. While a monochromatic look can give off a classic old-money style vibe, most of us don’t stick to just one color or only neutrals for every outfit. With so many gorgeous fall shades, it’s fun to add a pop of color or mix a few complementary hues. Here are three color combinations I’m most excited to experiment with this season.

Orange + Tan

orange and tan outfit, how to wear orange, styling with color in winter, how to layer

The combination of orange and tan feels like a fall dream. This warm, inviting pairing makes orange much easier to pull off. I especially love when two warmer hues play off each other, creating a smooth transition between colors. Because the shades aren’t as contrasting, don’t be afraid to mix materials and textures with this duo to add extra interest to your look!

If you’re not into the monochromatic approach and want to take more of a risk, try a deep orange with light blue. Or, if you love a tone-on-tone look but want a bit more zing, pair orange with red for a fun, unexpected twist.

Maroon + Teal

Next up is a vibrant combo with some zest: maroon and teal! Compared to orange and tan, this pairing is bolder, yet it still feels elevated. Both tones are inherently sophisticated, so even though it’s a pop color on a pop color, the look still feels elegant.

Want something a bit more feminine to pair with maroon? Try a soft, dusty pink for a subtle, chic twist!

Mustard Yellow + Navy

yellow outfit ideas, mustard color combinations, mustard and olive yellow outfit ideas, mustard color combinations, mustard and olive

As I mentioned, I’m currently loving everything that gives off preppy, collegiate vibes. Mustard yellow and navy are the perfect colors to wear this fall to capture that trend. When styling this pairing, I love adding classic touches of gold—like gold buttons—to give the outfit a little extra dimension.

Not into the preppy look? Try pairing mustard yellow with olive green instead. This is another very autumnal, yet wearable, combination.

4 Easy Ways to Incorporate Fall Colors Into Your Outfits

Combining shades or adding a bold color pop can sometimes feel intimidating, but there are so many fun ways to do it! You could add a pop of color to your favorite animal-print outfit, give an old-money style look a unique twist with an unexpectedly bold lipstick, or simply add a colorful pair of loafers to your favorite jeans and tee.

If you’re looking for a few quick, easy, and specific ways to bring color into your fall wardrobe, I’m sharing four ideas below. While they’re all simple finishing touches, sometimes these small additions can make a big difference!

1. Add a Colorful Accessory

There’s no easier way to add a pop to an outfit than with a colorful accessory. My go-to is a vibrant bag, but it could also be a statement necklace, bold earrings, or even a wide belt. For fall specifically, don’t forget scarves, baseball hats, or gloves. One of my current favorite ways to add color with accessories? Chunky bangles—they instantly make an outfit feel fun and there are so many colorful options!

2. Add Colorful Tights or Socks

One of the most inexpensive—but powerful—ways to add an extra hue to your outfit is with colorful tights or visible socks. If you really want to make a statement, you could even layer colorful tights with socks or knee highs in a contrasting shade. I’m also loving the loafers-and-socks combo this fall—a sweet, ruffled sock in a fun color paired with a classic loafer is such an easy and playful way to experiment with fall wardrobe colors.

3. Play with Layers

The more pieces you wear, the more opportunities you have to try out new colors for fall, right? Some easy layering options include draping a coat over your shoulders, tying a sweater around your neck, or even experimenting with the trend of layering two cardigans together! Back when I was living in San Francisco, I became a layering expert out of necessity—and to this day, experimenting with layers is still one of my favorite ways to explore fall styling.

4. Don’t Forget Beauty Products

While this option isn’t always the most obvious, colorful pops from beauty products can make a big impact on your outfit. These touches pack a lot of punch with very little investment. For example, you could paint your nails in a fun fall hue or try a bold new lipstick. Personally, I’m loving orange lipstick right now—it feels like the perfect way to add color to my pre-fall and fall outfits!

Final Thoughts on Colors to Wear This Fall

Autumn is the perfect season to have fun with your wardrobe and experiment with new hues. From rich maroons and teals to bright oranges and mustard yellows, there are so many beautiful colors to wear this fall. Experiment with mixing shades, layering textures, or adding colorful accessories to create a seasonal look that truly feels like “you”!

There’s a particular charm to the in-between, when summer still clings to the air and the palette shifts subtly, toward something deeper. Pre-fall pieces slip in quietly, with suedes, knits, jacquards, and cottons that nod to cooler days ahead. The mood isn’t hurried or overly polished, it simply reflects the balance of the moment, where each piece carries a quiet confidence, ready for whatever the day brings. Below, a curated selection of the transitional styles I’m most drawn to now.
