Patience is the name of the game when it comes to lash serums. “You won’t see overnight results from eyelash growth serums, which require consistency and patience,” board-certified dermatologist Dendy Engelman, MD, who is based in New York City, previously told Allure. “To see optimal results, you should apply the serum one to two times per day for at least six to eight weeks, and you’ll see the best results around the 12- to 16-week mark.”

And after using Nulastin LASH Follicle Fortifying Serum—formulated with powerful peptides, hydrating glycerin, and strengthening keratin—twice a day for at least six weeks, you’ll notice longer, more lush-looking lashes, no mascara required.

With the brush applicator, draw a thin line from the inner corner to the outer edge on the upper lash line only. Repeat morning and night on clean, dry lids.

I Tried Luna Bronze Self-Tanning Jelly—And I Have Thoughts http://livelaughlovedo.com/beauty/i-tried-luna-bronze-self-tanning-jelly-and-i-have-thoughts/ http://livelaughlovedo.com/beauty/i-tried-luna-bronze-self-tanning-jelly-and-i-have-thoughts/#respond Mon, 08 Sep 2025 12:26:05 +0000 http://livelaughlovedo.com/2025/09/08/i-tried-luna-bronze-self-tanning-jelly-and-i-have-thoughts/ [ad_1]

We put the Luna Bronze Self-Tanning Jelly products to the test after receiving a complimentary sample from the brand. Keep reading for our full review.

I am as pale as they come and have tested nearly every self-tanner on the market. I’ve spent thousands of hours applying self-tanner and getting spray tanned, all in an effort to achieve that warm, summer glow without UV rays and to learn how to hide my varicose veins. I’ve spent hours in my apartment, sitting in a sticky mess in nothing but a loose t-shirt, waiting for my self-tanner to develop, only to wake up with orange palms, uneven ankles, and hands much darker than my face.

I’ve experienced it all with at-home tanning, and was just on the verge of giving it up, when I was introduced to Luna Bronze Self Tanning Jelly. A lightweight, bouncy jelly that glides on smoothly and lets you go about your day hassle-free? I had to see what all the fuss was about and test it out for myself. Keep scrolling for my honest review.

About My Skin: I have fair skin and wear a lot of sunscreen

As a fair-skinned redhead, I avoid the sun as much as possible and lather on sunscreen for my daily walks. I self-tan at least once a week during the summer months, exfoliate daily, and apply nourishing oil all over my body after showering, as I tend to get dry if I don’t stay on top of that.

Ashley Rebecca

How to Apply: Use a self-tanning mitt

I tried applying this tanning jelly a few different ways. I used both my bare hands and gloves, but a mitt was the standout in the application process, making things much easier. Before applying, you’ll want to shave and exfoliate your skin, and follow up with a light lotion or oil if you tend to get dry, as this will help keep the product from clinging to any dry patches. The instructions mention applying the jelly to dry skin. I found that using it after applying oil and lotion was fine and did not interfere with my results.

Ashley Rebecca

I dispensed the jelly into the mitt and then applied it all over my body, rubbing it in as I went and ensuring every area was covered. This jelly doesn’t have a lasting tint like some self-tanners, so you need to work quickly. The more you blend it in a circular motion, the better your results will be. The jelly starts lilac in color and dries clear, absorbing quickly, so you can layer it if you want a deeper-looking tan. I also applied it multiple days in a row to deepen my color results and found that to be an easy way to build color gradually. Whether you use a mitt or anything else, be sure to wash your hands well with soap and water after every single application.

The Results: A stress-free, natural-looking tan

I was genuinely shocked by the results of using this product, as I was on the fence about whether or not it would hold up to its claims. Having been disappointed by other self-tanners in the past, which left me orange and sticky, Luna Bronze Self Tanning Jelly delivered results beyond my expectations. The formula absorbs quickly, has a pleasant light scent, and doesn’t transfer or streak.

Within a few hours, you’ll start to see the color develop. I wore it outside running errands and completely forgot I had it on, and slept in it overnight, waking up to no transfer on my bedsheets or clothes. After mastering the application process and discovering that there’s no such thing as blending too much, I fell in love with the way my skin looked and felt after using this product.

Ashley Rebecca

Like most self-tanners, it’s best to hydrate your skin with cream, oil, or lotion daily to preserve the color and extend your results. I found that this product naturally faded within one week, without looking patchy or scaly, unlike some tanners that can develop these issues as they fade. Overall, my tan looked natural, and people complimented both the color and the glow this tanning jelly gave me.

The Value: Just buy it, you’ll love it

The ease of application and zero transfer alone make this product worth the coin. Unlike other self-tanners that keep you indoors all day and are prone to streaking or transferring, this juicy jelly lets you avoid all those issues. If you’re looking for a natural-looking tan but lack the time and patience for at-home tanning, you’ll love this product.

The Final Verdict: You’re ready for this jelly

There are many self-tanning options available, including mousses, gels, lotions, and waters, but this jelly stands out with its unique formula and texture. If you want a hassle-free, natural-looking tan at home that won’t streak, transfer, or leave an unpleasant smell, this jelly is the perfect choice. It’s packed with skin-nourishing ingredients, easy to apply, and doesn’t take much time to use, which has made me an instant fan.

Dyson Airwrap vs. Shark FlexStyle 2025, Tested and Reviewed http://livelaughlovedo.com/beauty/dyson-airwrap-vs-shark-flexstyle-2025-tested-and-reviewed/ http://livelaughlovedo.com/beauty/dyson-airwrap-vs-shark-flexstyle-2025-tested-and-reviewed/#respond Thu, 21 Aug 2025 02:11:30 +0000 http://livelaughlovedo.com/2025/08/21/dyson-airwrap-vs-shark-flexstyle-2025-tested-and-reviewed/ [ad_1]

TL;DR

Dyson’s Airwrap Multi-Styler is an impressive styling tool that can achieve a variety of styles—from bouncy blowouts to sleek, straight styles and beach waves. The only caveat is the larger price point. However, Shark’s FlexStyle came out on top due to its incredible attachment options and performance, all for a fraction of the price.

It’s not an exaggeration to say that the Dyson Airwrap and Shark FlexStyle are two of the most talked-about and innovative styling tools out there. The infamous brands are known for their inventive technologies that transform the way we view standard hair dryers. They offer numerous attachments that achieve salon-quality styles, allowing you to create everything from a sleek, straight blowout to big, bouncy curls from the comfort of your own home. While both multi-styling and drying systems may appear similar, there are significant differences between the two, including the price tag.

We tapped our Byrdie editors and testers to evaluate which product deserves the top spot. We put the devices to the test, assessing them on their attachments, settings, performance, and value to help you make the best purchase for your needs, texture, and budget. Below, find out how the two devices compare; the results may surprise you.

Dyson Airwrap Multi-Styler Complete Long

Credit: Sephora

Max Temp: 302 degrees | Features: 6 styling attachments, 3 speeds, 4 heat settings | Warranty: 2 years

The Dyson Airwrap is your secret weapon to achieving numerous salon-quality styles with ease. The multi-styler offers six styling attachments, including a dryer, a 1.2-inch barrel, a 1.6-inch barrel, a soft smoothing brush, a firm smoothing brush, and a round brush, along with three speed settings. It’s also available for two hair types (straight to wavy and curly to coily) to target specific heat and styling needs. The high-tech tool utilizes negative ions to help minimize frizz and provides three heat settings designed to prevent heat damage. The luxe design makes it easy to snap the attachments in place and curate your perfect hairdo. Plus, it comes housed in a chic box that helps organize your tools and protect them from damage. At almost $600, it’s an investment, but the styling options and the amount of money you’ll save on salon blowouts make this tool worth it for shoppers and editors alike.

Shark FlexStyle Air Styling & Drying System

Credit: Shark

Max Temp: 95 degrees | Features: 5 styling attachments, 3-speeds, 4 heat settings | Warranty: 2 years

The Shark FlexStyle is comparable to the Airwrap, as it’s a multi-styling and drying tool. However, there are a few differences, with price being one of them. One main difference between the Shark and the Dyson is that you can personalize your tool a bit more with the Shark. You have the option to choose between three different systems—all hair types, curly and coily, and straight and wavy. However, all of the attachments can be purchased separately. For $350, this multi-styling tool provides a tailored benefit that will transform your hair from limp to full-bodied and voluminous, or however you choose to style it.

What We Considered

Attachments

Winner: Shark FlexStyle

While the two stylers are similar in design and function, the Shark FlexStyle takes the lead in terms of attachments. Its customization options and targeted tools make it better suited to a wider range of hair types and styling needs. Unlike the Dyson, which comes with a fixed set of attachments, the FlexStyle allows users to choose their bundle, selecting tools that best match their texture and desired look.

For instance, those with straight or wavy hair might opt for the round brush or curling barrels, while individuals with curly or coily textures can choose the diffuser or styling brushes that enhance and define their natural curl pattern. There’s also a more general option available for versatile, everyday use. This thoughtful approach not only makes the tool more inclusive but also ensures more precise results. We found that this level of adaptability gave the Shark a clear advantage.

Settings

Winner: It’s a tie.

When it comes to settings, the Dyson and Shark are evenly matched. Both offer four heat options (including a cool shot to lock in your style) and three airflow speed settings. In terms of power and performance, there’s little that separates the two.

Performance

Winner: Shark FlexStyle

Both tools delivered gorgeous, voluminous, commercial-worthy results. However, the Shark FlexStyle pulled ahead thanks to its customizable attachments, frizz-reducing performance, impressive versatility, and a more accessible price point.

Why Trust Byrdie

Amanda Rosenthal is a writer who specializes in all things beauty. She has extensively tested dozens of styling tools. She prefers tools that add volume and body to her fine, straight hair. She tapped Byrdie editors who have used the devices to help inform her decisions for this review.

I Tried Skin Laundry’s Sculpting Facial and It’s Worth the Money http://livelaughlovedo.com/beauty/i-tried-skin-laundrys-sculpting-facial-and-its-worth-the-money/ http://livelaughlovedo.com/beauty/i-tried-skin-laundrys-sculpting-facial-and-its-worth-the-money/#respond Mon, 28 Jul 2025 09:53:02 +0000 http://livelaughlovedo.com/2025/07/28/i-tried-skin-laundrys-sculpting-facial-and-its-worth-the-money/ [ad_1]

I love the sculpted look contouring gives my face, but I’d happily skip the extra step in my makeup routine if I could. That’s why I was so excited to try Skin Laundry’s new sculpting facial, designed to tighten, lift, and contour.

Known for their laser facials and skin-resurfacing services, Skin Laundry is a global skincare center offering a range of energy-based aesthetic treatments, from laser hair removal to customized facial peels. What truly sets them apart is their Laundry Club membership and dermatologist-curated treatment plans designed to make practicing skincare a consistent lifestyle habit, not just a one-and-done thing. “Just like building muscles at the gym, optimizing skin health takes time—it’s not a one-facial-and-done deal,” Skin Laundry’s chief medical officer, Dr. Roberta Del Campo, M.D., says.

Ahead, learn more about the new sculpting facial and check out my before-and-after results to see the difference.

What Is a Sculpting Facial?

The sculpting facial uses multi-polar radio frequency and pulsed electromagnetic fields to create a more defined appearance across the entire face and neck. “While many sculpting treatments use radio frequency alone, our dual-technology approach allows for a deeper and more efficient stimulation of collagen and elastin production,” Dr. Campo says. “Pulsed electromagnetic field boosts cellular regeneration by stimulating fibroblasts (the cells responsible for producing collagen), while radio frequency delivers controlled heat for immediate tightening and long-term skin rejuvenation.”

The treatment is pretty painless, but it can get pretty hot on the face depending on your pain tolerance. The treatment lasts 60 minutes, and some mild redness may occur during the procedure, but it typically resolves within 72 hours.

The Benefits

  • Tightens, lifts, and contours the skin
  • Reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
  • Reduces the appearance of scarring, uneven texture, and pore size
  • Sculpts the jawline and chin area for a more defined look
  • Zero downtime
  • Results are noticeable immediately

If you’re looking for a facial treatment that delivers immediate results, this sculpting facial is a great option to consider. Dr. Campo explains that the system they use heats the skin to the “optimal therapeutic range within seconds,” which means it’s a more comfortable process to experience and very time-efficient.

How to Prepare

To get the best results, the brand recommends drinking lots of water (about four 8-oz servings, in addition to your regular daily water intake) the day before and the day of your treatment. “Drinking plenty of water in the days leading up to your appointment ensures that your skin is in an ideal state to receive the treatment safely and effectively,” Dr. Campo says.

She also advises avoiding harsh or drying skincare ingredients that contain high concentrations of alcohol. “The radio frequency energy targets water molecules in the skin; well-hydrated tissue conducts energy more effectively, which enhances collagen stimulation and overall results,” Dr. Campo explains.

What to Expect

I tried the sculpting facial three times over a three-month period, and my experience was consistently pleasant during each session. Before the first appointment, my Skin Laundry expert asked about my skin care concerns, explained the treatment process, and discussed how we could achieve my skin care goals. After that, she took a photo to log into her private records to keep track of my progress.

Then she performed a quick cleanse to remove any makeup and sweat buildup on my face and then began the treatment. She started by sweeping the electric wand over my cheeks repeatedly, using the same up-and-down strokes. She spent about 10 minutes in one area and then moved on to the next targeted areas (cheek, jowls, jawline, chin, neck), repeating the same motions with the wand.

While the device is in action, you’ll start to feel your skin getting warmer, but it shouldn’t be too painful. Whenever it began to feel too hot, I would let my expert know, and she would adjust the temperature on the wand to let my skin cool for a few minutes before starting back up again. After the treatment was completed, my expert applied a customized medical-grade serum tailored to address my skin concerns (brightening and reducing acne scarring).

The Cost

The sculpting facial is designed to be done in a package of six treatments. Which means you’ll need to come in six different times for each treatment. The cost for Skin Laundry members is $1,200, while the non-member fee is $1,500.

Potential Side Effects

The Skin Launry sculpting facial is designed to be safe and effective for all skin types, including sensitive skin, when performed by a trained provider. Mild redness may occur on some skin types for up to 72 hours, and mild heat from the treated area is normal.

Dr. Campo also notes that individuals with thinner skin or areas overlying bone, such as the cheekbones or jawline, may experience increased warmth or mild sensitivity during the procedure. As with any heat-based treatment, there is a minimal risk of burns if not performed properly, which is why provider training and experience are critical.

The Results

As with any skincare treatment, consistency is key to achieving and maintaining the best results with the sculpting facial. While anyone who receives the treatment will leave with a noticeable boost in radiance and firmness, the results are both immediate and cumulative, meaning that the benefits of each treatment build upon those of the previous one.

Dr. Campo recommends getting at least six treatments to see maximum results. In terms of frequency, that will vary from client to client. Before starting a treatment plan, the providers will assess a client’s skin and develop a customized protocol that could include receiving a Sculpting Facial as often as every 10 days.

To keep the results up at home, you should practice a skincare routine that includes firming active ingredients. “Using a good vitamin A serum at night, as the last step before moisturizer, will help promote collagen production between visits to the clinic,” Dr. Campo says.

Aftercare

Immediately after treatment, apply a gentle moisturizer and sunscreen. You can continue your regular daily skincare routine, using a gentle cleanser and cream, but you’ll need to avoid using any products with active ingredients (think: vitamin C, AHAs, retinoids, and physical exfoliation) for 24 hours.

You should also avoid heat exposure, so refrain from taking a hot shower or hopping into a sauna or steam room for at least 24 hours following your treatment. Since the treatment heats the tissue underlying the skin to stimulate collagen production, you’ll want to avoid excess heat, which could cause inflammation.

The Final Takeaway

This was my first time trying a sculpting facial, and it’s a major upgrade from my usual at-home gua sha routine. The results were instant and visible, especially in my biggest trouble spot: the fat under my chin. I’m not quite ready for injectables like Kybella, so this felt like the perfect non-invasive alternative, and it didn’t disappoint. While one session delivers noticeable results, consistency is key for lasting improvements, and I’m definitely sticking with it. I walked out of every appointment looking snatched and glowing—and who doesn’t love that?
