While in Cashiers for the showhouse tour, my friend, Betsy and I stayed overnight which was fun. It’s 3 hours to get up there from GA, so it made for a more leisurely adventure to spend the night and head home the next day. Cashiers and Highlands are both well know mountain towns and they both have lots of shops and restaurants. I’m definitely not an expert on either town, but we enjoyed the brief time we were there.

We stopped by a few shops in Cashiers after the showhouse and it was fun to browse. This photo op was perfect outside the shops. So colorful!

This shop, Objet d’ Art was especially enticing as we headed through the door to see what was inside.

It was filled with lots of colorful home decor items and we enjoyed browsing around.

Beautiful glass bowls.

Blue and white pottery

Lots of gorgeous home decor items.

I loved all the color.

Love the wicker chairs and pillows.

Colorful artwork

Lots of pretty displays.

We headed over to Highlands and just drove through there, but didn’t have time to stop a long time. We passed this antiques place on the way and stopped in and it was full of goodies.

Sourced is the name and it was between Cashiers and Highlands. They had so much!

A little of what we saw inside. We weren’t looking for anything in particular, but there was a lot to see.

Outside too had lots of salvaged architectural pieces.

Lots of furniture, looks like imported.

And another big building full of old things.

We also stopped by Dry Falls too, such a pretty waterfall.

For dinner the night we stayed there, we wanted to find something that had a view and wow, did we score on that! We looked up a few places and Canyon Kitchen came up so we headed there around 5 and hoped we could get in. We did get in, even though later when talking to a few people, they said we were very lucky that we got there when we did and they could seat us. It was fantastic and the views were amazing!

I should have taken a pic of the inside where we ate and I forgot to do that, but here’s a blurry screenshot from a video I did inside.

The inside is gorgeous with soaring wood ceilings a stone fireplace and beautiful ambience.

Outside is a gorgeous view of the canyon and meadow surrounding the property. What a treat it was to have dinner here.

We were seated just inside the patio area, but the whole thing was so open it felt like sitting outside.

I ordered panko catfish with a chile sauce and it was fantastic.

Field pea salad with tomatoes and onions.

We split a peach melba dessert and wow was it all good. I would highly recommend this place.

We enjoyed after dinner walking around and sitting for a bit in the Adirondack chairs outside, taking in the views.

Those views!

The line of chairs was perfect for before or after dinner sitting.

Looking back at the restaurant. The section to the right was separate from the restaurant and had drinks and small plates we heard.

Canyon Kitchen was a hit and we are so glad we got to experience it. I will definitely want to go back. Hope you enjoyed this little visit to Cashiers NC.

Cashier’s Designer Showhouse 2025: Part 1 http://livelaughlovedo.com/home-decor/cashiers-designer-showhouse-2025-part-1/ http://livelaughlovedo.com/home-decor/cashiers-designer-showhouse-2025-part-1/#respond Sun, 31 Aug 2025 19:00:52 +0000 http://livelaughlovedo.com/2025/09/01/cashiers-designer-showhouse-2025-part-1/ [ad_1]

I headed up to Cashiers NC this past week for a tour of the 2025 Cashiers Designer showhouse, always a treat to see. This showhouse has been going on for 28 years and I’ve been to a few of them, but don’t make it every year. Proceeds benefit the Cashiers Historical Society. The showhouse is only open for a few short days, so if you missed it this year, put it on your calendar for next year. It was so fun to go up for an overnight stay with my friend, Betsy with House Therapy and have some girl time and see all the inspiration of the showhouse designers. Definitely my kind of girls’ get away and we had the best time, doing a little shopping, antiques browsing, and had dinner at a fabulous restaurant I’ll share later. It was wonderful to get away after being home most of the summer. The weather was crisp and cooler with a hint of fall in the air. There’s nothing like the NC mountains! Come along for Part 1 of the showhouse. I took a lot of pics (as usual) and will split it into two parts.

This stunning modern rustic home is nestled in Saratay Falls, a Loudermilk Homes development that embraces the natural beauty of Cashiers.

With 4 bedrooms and 4.5 baths, the home seamlessly blends timeless design with modern mountain living. Of note is the covered porch and chef’s kitchen with a pass-through bar to the grilling porch and a dining room that’s framed by floor to ceiling windows that lead to a private patio. With these picturesque surroundings, the 2025 Showhouse is a true sanctuary in the mountains.

Peek at the courtyard off the dining room.

I always love the use of materials in these mountain homes with rock and darker colors that blend in and are accented by the natural surroundings.

It’s a beauty!

Exterior Entry & Covered Porch: The Summer House by Reeves

Front porch with welcoming planters and chairs. I don’t have sources for everything in the house, but I’ll share each room’s designer with you.

Grand Room & Kitchen: J. Banks Design Group

The greatroom has a natural stone fireplace and 12 foot pocket doors that lead to the covered porch.

Mudroom, Powder Room & Pantry

Dining Room: Loudermilk Designs

Covered Porch: The Summer House by Reeves

This porch was stunning with the open views and this firepit! Amazing! What a place to hang out on a chilly evening.

Owner’s Suite: Eric Ross Interiors

Loved meeting Eric Ross, a Southern designer from Nashville. I follow him on Instagram and love his designs. I really appreciate his attention to detail and keeping traditional style alive and well.

Of course, I had to get a picture with him. He’s SO tall!

Owner’s Bathroom &b Closet: Courtney Moss Design

Overall, we loved the house, especially the main floor. Next week, I’ll share the 2nd floor and outdoor areas and I’ll also share more about what we did in Cashiers on our short 2 day visit. It’s always fun to visit Cashiers, NC, a charming mountain town with lots of style!
