Bloodsuckers Research Flip Book

The practice by some animals feeding on the blood of other animals is known as Hematophagy. Some of these creatures are creepy and many transmit diseases from one host to another. Some of these animals feed on blood from humans, while others live on blood from other animals. 

Blood is a fluid that is needed for life. Sometimes the creatures that these bloodsuckers feed on, can get very sick due to receiving a disease that has been transmitted or from lack of blood. Sometimes an animal can pass away due to these parasites.

Animals in the Book

This bloodsuckers printable contains information for children on nine different creature that feed on blood:

• flea
• head louse
• leech
• hood mockingbird
• mosquito
• oxpecker
• tick
• sea lamprey
• vampire bat
• There is also a page for information about blood

In this flip book, you will receive one page of information about each of the ten objects as well as the flip book. This information page can be used to complete the flip book, though it would be good for children to do their own research. The pages of the flip book include spots for children to record their research in their own words as well as draw pictures if they wish.

Learning to tell the time on an analogue clock can be hard and confusing for some children.  With all the digital clocks around, many just find that they don’t read an analogue clock anymore. With these printable analogue time cards, children will be able to learn, practice and review reading the time on an analogue clock.

Telling the Time

Being able to tell the time gets easier with practice. With this matching card set, children will learn to tell the time in 5 minute increments. There is also one blank page for you to add extra cards if you wish.

Printable Analogue Time Cards

This free pack includes hour, half hour, quarter to and quarter past times. I have included clocks with the times as well as the time cards that you can cut out separately.

Some ways that you can use these cards are:

• Memory Game – cut out all cards and place face down, flip over two and it they match set them aside, if they don’t place them back face down and start again. Keep going until all the clocks are matched to their correct time.
• Place all the clock cards face up on the table, shuffle the time cards and then match the time to the correct clock face.
• Make your own clock, shuffle the time cards into a pile. Pick up a time card and move the hands on your clock to make the time listed on your time card.

We used a real clock and I also made a paper clock, so the boys had a clock each. Then they started having races to see who could ‘set’ the time the quickest.
