Ever since Hilary Duff announced earlier this month that she’d be releasing new music for the first time in a decade, all eyes have been on the former Disney darling turned multi-hyphenate mom. And Duff clearly knows everyone’s watching. Not that she even needed a glow-up—the woman is chronically gorgeous—but her front-row-seat sighting at the Fendi show at Milan Fashion Week has everyone talking about how next-level stunning she looks. It’s nearly impossible to narrow down the look to one favorite feature, but perhaps the most fun and copyable element is her amazing manicure.

Duff attended the Fendi Spring/Summer 2026 show on Tuesday, September 24, along with a number of other fashion-loving celebrities like Naomi Watts and Shailene Woodley, both of whom wore muted colors and barely-there nail polishes. Duff, on the other hand, seems to have said, “French manicure, please, and don’t do any of the usual stuff,” to her as-yet-unidentified nail artist.

Each one of the Duff’s ballerina-shaped nails has a different unexpected color combo with an especially thick tip: shimmering gold with a terracotta tip, silver with a white tip, rosy rust with a darker burgundy tip, the palest of silvery lavenders with a pastel green tip, and so on. The manicure is complemented by a big, blue Fendi statement ring.

In no community is “to each their own” more true than the beauty coterie. I know that if you don’t get a bob right after I get bob, it’s not because you don’t like my bob—it’s because you just prefer longer hair for yourself. And while I know plenty of people who insist on a squared-off nail shape, it’s just never been for me. I prefer the softer look of an oval or almond shape, especially if there’s a French manicure involved. But Demi Lovato might have just recruited me to the square side with what her nail tech is calling the “micro straight French.”

Lovato is getting the word out about her upcoming ninth studio album, It’s Not That Deep, and that includes bopping around New York City during New York Fashion Week. The singer was spotted in a variety of devastatingly cool outfits, like a red long-sleeve top and low-slung black pants, and a belted, ribbed, burgundy catsuit. But just in case you couldn’t quite zoom in enough to get a close-up of her equally awesome nails, her go-to nail artist, Natalie Minerva, is happy to oblige.

Whenever Hailey Bieber posts a video of herself where she’s doing her makeup or her hair, we’re always looking out for two things: if she’s sneaking in any as-yet-unreleased Rhode products and what manicure she’s wearing at the moment. And if we’re being honest, with the very rare exception of an unexpected color, her manicures are usually a take on her signature glazed-donut nails—something in the beige or light pink family, usually a bit shimmery, often sheer, and always pretty.

And when she posted her latest TikTok, in which she’s applying a couple of Rhode products to her lips and filming on a phone protected by her famous Lip Case (of course), we assumed the off-white manicure we saw flitting around was one of her go-to looks. But upon the closest possible inspection, we actually think it’s a deviation from the norm and quite possibly the next big trend in neutral nail looks.

When we zoom in—yes, we take screenshots and basically do forensic investigations of celebrity beauty TikToks here at Allure—we realized we were looking at what we can best describe as a faded manicure. At first glance, it seemed like it may just be a sheer off-white that’s transparent enough to let her natural tips show through, but those natural tips look pretty darn perfect, leading us to believe it’s actually two shades of cream: a sheer one as the base and a more opaque one on the tips, with a not-so-sharp line of demarcation that gives the overall look a faded effect.

But wait! There’s more! When we zoomed in extra close, we could see what’s either some spots on her mirror, or a few little dots on her nails. Alas, Bieber has yet to give followers a closer, higher-res view.

Naturally, we’ve reached out in hopes of more details and a clearer look. But in the meantime, we’re not going to wait to see a faded French manicure on other hands before we call it: This is going to be one of the biggest trends for the rest of 2025.

Think of the deep French manicure as the glamorous sister to the classic French. “It’s got a really ‘90s, early ‘00s feel and I always think of it as the ultimate mob wife manicure,” explains London-based nail artist and manicurist Mariana Augusto. “Icons like Britney Spears, Missy Elliott, and Pamela Anderson were all papped rocking this look back in the day, and, although it definitely isn’t for everyone, as a nail artist, I am obsessed with it,” she says.

On Tuesday, June 24, Beyoncé and her husband Jay-Z attended the Louis Vuitton Menswear Spring/Summer 2026 show in Paris. Sporting head to toe Western denim, the 43-year-old even added some Cowboy Carter -inspired flair to her French manicure.

The 43-year-old’s “bang bang” nails—she goes to nail artist Miho Okawara for the art—have been a staple during her tour. At first they were all red with hand-painted stars, but a couple of weeks ago the red made its way up to the tips on a couple of fingers (in anticipation of this trip, perhaps?).

Okawara previously shared that she uses red gel polish by Tokyo Spice to cover the almond-shaped tips before painting on the stars. Her clear top and base coats were Presto Gel by Nail Labo.

And though we loved the design before, this mani’s appearance in France added a certain je ne sais quoi to the look—especially when paired with that denim jumpsuit.

Beyoncé’s Western Denim

With her manicure shining and honey-blonde hair flowing, the Grammy winner showed off a long-sleeved, wide-legged dark blue denim Louis Vuitton jumpsuit. She wore it cinched at the waist with a brown belt and silver buckle.

On her head, she wore a brown cowboy hat. On her feet: open-toed black platforms to show off her mani-matching red pedicure. Her makeup artist, Rokael Lizama, “went for fresh skin and glow” according to an Instagram post while hairstylist Neal Farinah‘s vision for her Cecred-backed blowout was “soft sexy imperfect hair.”

When in Rome, do as the Romans do. But when in Paris… you should do as Beyoncé does! For what it’s worth, the only reason that’s not as popular a phrase is because “do as Beyoncé does applies” anywhere.
