Labor Day weekend often marks the peak of summer in Charleston, but we were met with an unexpected and glorious reprieve, a few days of cool, humidity-free mornings and evenings. It felt like a hint of fall, and the timing couldn’t have been better. The last quarter of the year always seems to move the fastest, especially with the pace of work picking up for fall and holiday. We have three collaborations launching before the end of the year, and lots happening behind the scenes. Here’s a peek at what’s ahead this month…

What We’re Doing

• We have a handful of trips planned this month, a mix of work and celebration. A quick weekend getaway for a friend’s birthday, followed by a work trip to Connecticut and New York. It’s shaping up to be a busy but energizing few weeks.
• In New York, we’re staying at The Fifth Avenue Hotel, our first time. The rooms look beautiful and I’m curious to see how it lives up. I’ll report back.
• Later in the month, we’re heading to Chicago to meet with Summer and her team to finalize plans for our kitchen design and my closet/dressing room. I’m counting down the days.
• We’re filming a kitchen and bar tour this week exclusively for paid subscribers of Trade Offs. There’s a lot of great video content over there right now if you haven’t subscribed already.
• One of our collaborations launches mid-month, our second with the brand. Curious if you can guess who it is? The pieces turned out beautifully, and I can’t wait to share them with you.

What I’m Buying

• A new yoga mat for at-home workouts.
• My girlfriend recommended I order these fall boots for Ireland next month.
• This Kallmeyer Tassel Belt.
• From my recent Doen Fall order: this multicolored stripe dress, this silk mini dress, and this leopard card holder.
• This colorblock sweater.
• Two recent Shopbop purchases for fall: this Nili Lotan sweater and these corduroy pants.
• This is one of my favorite sneaker styles. I have them in a black and tan version, and just got this moody colorway for fall.
• I couldn’t resist these chartreuse/ochre leather pants.
• This fragrant Dries Van Noten refillable perfume.

What I’m Eyeing

• I’m always eyeing jewelry. It’s one of my biggest loves. Right now I am fixated on some Lucy Delius pieces. Here’s what’s on my wish list: this Ruby pendant, these Stirrup earrings, and these Ruby ear cuffs.
• I also love Marla Aaron. Her website is a goldmine for discovering beautiful pieces, and she’s a joy to follow on Instagram. I’m really drawn to her colorful, inlay pieces. Here’s what’s on my wishlist: this Inlay ring, this Inlay chain necklace, and this Inlay cuff.
• Mary Nelson Sinclair’s new mixed bouquet pieces.
• The Loewe x Albers Collection is slowly trickling out. I’ve had it pinned since the collection showed last year. A few pieces I am loving include this puzzle dotted bag, this silk-blend top, and this leather clutch.
• Two dresses I’m eyeing for Fall/Winter events are this spectacular Roksanda dress and this feather Buggy dress.
• I’m currently wanting to upgrade our coffee pot to this beautiful silver one.
• My SIS for Arielle Ratner earrings: Splurge on these,  Invest in these, Save with these.
• This Nili Lotan leather clutch.
• The Dries Van Noten pieces that are living rent free in my mind: this embellished skirt, this tasseled envelope clutch bag, this embellished jacket and this long wool cardigan.

LIGHTER COVER

File this under ‘things I never thought I would buy’ – a lighter cover. I typically light candles around the house with an electric lighter, but when I saw this lighter cover I had to have it. The jewels are different on each side – see the full cover here – and I can’t decide which side I love more! It feels like a piece of jewelry sitting next to my candle. P.S. this brand made the catch-all I have and love that is now on sale here in 5 colors!

A FUNKY RING

How cool is this ring?! I love how fluid the design looks. It is completely unique from anything in my jewelry collection. It is also adjustable and so comfortable to wear!

HOTEL LOBBY CANDLE

Hotel Lobby candles have been on my radar for some time now. So many of my friends rave about them, and when I was looking for a scent that felt more *summery*, I decided to give them a try. I ended up loving the Positano scent! I was also really impressed with the packaging – these candles would make the perfect ready-to-give gift!

SEA OF LIES PODCAST

It’s been awhile since I listened to a realllly good podcast. I recently started listening to Sea of Lies and ended up burning through it in 3 days. Right when I thought the crime was solved it was kind of just getting started. Very well done and just the right amount of episodes to tell the story.

PRE-FALL LOAFERS

Last week I shared some of my pre-fall loves here. These loafers were included! I love how they combine the paracord trend with the loafer trend while having a chunkier sole! These loafers are going to look so chic back to a pleated mini skirt and argyle sweater.

In Florida sun damage can be no joke. I have taken SPF more seriously, wear a very big hat when out in the sun, and in general just try to be more careful about sun exposure. I have also began to use more products that help brighten and reduce fine lines. I have been using this formula on my face, neck, and chest and love the outcome.

The turquoise trend continues! See more ways I am mixing and matching this trend here and here. My newest turq pieces are this long necklace I doubled up (under $50), this bracelet and this ring from The Real Real. I wore them with this four leaf clover necklace that I have gotten constant DMs about. I LOVE everything this jeweler does and this four leaf clover pendant was a thoughtful gift from my husband with Penny engraved on the other side! My size is the ‘Marge’.

Color and rainbows are my thing – so this necklace has become a FAST favorite. I dressed it up with some of my tried and true favorites, including this Chanel piece I bought second hand. Last but not least a green moment! Dorsey just launched Paracord part 2 and dare I say I love it even more than part one? I couldn’t decide between the green and the red but ultimately landed on the green!
