We’ve compiled transfer bonus updates for most major programs with transferable rewards to make tracking these offers easier. Just note that transfer bonuses are sometimes targeted, so some may not be available.

Chase Sapphire Reserve®: Earn 100,000 bonus points plus a $500 Chase Travel℠ promo credit after spending $5,000 on purchases in the first three months from account opening (see rates and fees).

American Express Membership Rewards is offering a targeted (up to) 30% transfer bonus to Hilton Honors. This targeted offer does not have a set expiration date, but check your accounts to see if you have access to this bonus.

Membership Rewards points typically transfer to Hilton at a 1:2 ratio. Several TPG staff members were targeted for the 30% transfer bonus, which means 1,000 American Express Membership Rewards points will turn into 2,600 Hilton points. Another TPG staffer was only targeted for a 25% transfer bonus, which means 1,000 American Express Membership Rewards points equate to 2,500 Hilton Honors points. Hilton uses dynamic pricing, so the number of points needed to book an award stay can vary depending on timing, seasonality and other factors.

Chase is currently offering a 50% bonus when you transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Marriott Bonvoy by Aug. 15.

Since TPG values Marriott points at 0.7 cents apiece and Chase points at 2.05 cents per point, per our August 2025 valuations, we typically wouldn’t recommend transferring your Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Marriott Bonvoy, as you’ll most likely lose value. Citi ThankYou Rewards is currently offering a 25% bonus to The Leading Hotels of the World’s Leaders Club program. Citi ThankYou Rewards points usually transfer to this partner at a 5:1 rate, but with the transfer bonus, the rate increases to 4:1.

While this might seem like a poor transfer rate, Leaders Club redemptions start from just 4,000 points and include luxury properties worldwide, so it could be worth a look.

Some 100 miles south of mainland Greece, there’s an alluring new island oasis to dispose of your stress — and your stash of Marriott Bonvoy points, too.

Last month, the JW Marriott in Crete began welcoming guests to its 160-room hillside resort that hugs the Aegean coastline, just outside the Cretan city of Chania.

A place where you can soak in a private infinity pool while simultaneously taking in views of the Dikti mountains, this new high-end Marriott-affiliated property lives up to the spot it claimed earlier this year on TPG’s list of most exciting hotel openings of 2025.

And we were among the first paying guests to check it out. Here’s what it was like.

First impressions

When pulling up to the brand-new JW Marriott Crete Resort & Spa, it’s clear water figures prominently into all aspects of the property, from the shimmering reflection pools surrounding the lobby to the myriad places to take a dip.

And that’s to say nothing of the Aegean Sea, which is accessible just steps from the resort.

The whole property is built into the hillside, with clusters of villas, restaurants and pools lining the rugged terrain — with the best panoramic views as you climb.

You get a sense of calmness as soon as you arrive on-site: Soft music plays in the background, a sea breeze gently blows and views of the mountain peaks across the cove greet you.

There’s no need to visit the front desk at check-in; the entire process happened from the comfort of a sofa while sipping a complimentary signature mocktail (lemon verbena with fresh thyme).

Rooms

Keeping with the idea that water is a focal point at this property, the type of room (and price you pay) hinges, in large part, on the type of pool you get (or don’t get) with your accommodations.

I booked one of the property’s deluxe swim-up rooms, which sounded hard to beat. The special rate included breakfast as part of the property’s opening and came to 346 euros (about $405) per night all-in.

Upon arrival, though, the property did me one better, upgrading me (thanks to my Platinum Elite status in the Marriott Bonvoy program) to a deluxe room with a private pool.

Inside, the room itself followed the minimalist design prominent throughout the property, with neutral colors accented by brown wood elements.

The room was set on two levels, with the bed and bathroom up top and the living room and sofa section down a single step, sort of sunken below the top level.

The bathroom featured an expansive soaking tub with a skylight and a large open shower area. Toiletries were from Aromatherapy Associates London.

By far the star of the entire space, though, was the private infinity pool outside the sliding glass door. The pool had more than enough space for two guests (and probably a couple of kids, too,).

The patio/pool deck came with a dining table and two padded lounge chairs, along with beach towels that housekeeping kept replenished throughout the stay.

If I’m being picky, there’s not a ton of privacy while sitting on this particular patio; you’re pretty close both to neighbors and passersby. You also don’t have quite the views of the sea and mountains you’d get if you’re in a room that’s set higher up the hillside, if that matters to you.

Other accommodations include the swim-up pool that a few rooms share. There are also rooms that don’t include a pool. There are even some more luxurious suites and multistory villas up the hill, some of which were still under construction (luckily, there were no issues with construction noise during my stay).

Next door, Fayi is advertised on the Marriott app as the “main restaurant” for the property, but during my visit, it simply offered an expansive breakfast buffet that combined American and Mediterranean flavors. It should certainly satisfy Platinum Elite (and above) Marriott Bonvoy members entitled to free breakfast.

Cuccagna, the adjacent Italian eatery with a brick oven, was set to open on the day I departed.

Property-wide, I found the dishes well prepared, fresh and full of local flavor, even as many of the venues were still getting their footing on service as the resort ramps up its guest count.

Amenities

As a traveler forever in search of a great pool, the top amenity at this resort is, without a doubt, the three main pools — one of which is a wading pool and another is exclusively for adults — that overlook the Aegean and Crete’s mountains.

Seaside cabanas

If close access to the sea is more your vibe, there are cabanas lining the rocky shore that you can use for free.

From there, it’s only a few steps down the dock to a ladder to lower yourself into the water. Or, you can walk over to a narrow zero-entry beach.

Fitness center

Inside the main building, the gym was well equipped with brand-new cardio and weight machines. Additionally, there was a yoga room used for a variety of yoga and Pilates group workouts.

Spa

The property is also in the process of opening a spa that, from renderings TPG shared earlier this summer, looks like it will be a major draw going forward.

Boat excursions

In addition to the property’s main amenities, the on-site concierge can connect guests with private boat reservations that depart from the nearby dock. Full-day tours start at 1,500 euros ($1,759) … a tempting option but one that was not in the budget for this trip.

Location and logistics

This new JW Marriott property sits on the northern coast of Crete, on the western side of the Greek island.

The resort is about a 20-minute drive from Chania International Airport (CHQ), making for a seamless trip, thanks, in part, to a private black car-esque transfer the front desk set up ahead of arrival. The transfer was 35 euros ($41) each way.

It’s about 25 to 30 minutes to the center of Chania and its Old Venetian Harbor, with its myriad of shops and restaurants. You can use the same private transfer service arranged by the resort, which costs 40 euros (about $47) each way. Given this extra expense, I’d recommend setting aside a single afternoon and evening for that visit if it’s of interest.

The property is about a five-minute walk from a public beach area and a handful of beach bar-style restaurants, but don’t expect much nearby in the way of convenience stores, pharmacies and the like.

This resort is the fourth Marriott-affiliated property on the island of Crete and the first JW Marriott. It’s the second near Chania (the first being Domes Zeen Chania, a Luxury Collection Resort, Crete).

The simplest way, of course, is to use Marriott Bonvoy points in your account. Personally, I earn the bulk of my Marriott points through purchases charged to the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless® Credit Card (see rates and fees), which has also been a big help in boosting my Marriott Bonvoy elite status. The card has a $95 annual fee.

Chase is currently offering a 20% bonus when you transfer Ultimate Rewards points to Air Canada Aeroplan through July 17. This means 1,000 Chase points will equal 1,200 Aeroplan points.

If you also have the Aeroplan® Credit Card (see rates and fees), you can receive an additional 10% bonus for every 50,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points transferred to Air Canada Aeroplan (up to 25,000 bonus points per year), meaning you could stack the offers to receive 30% bonus Aeroplan points.

Though Aeroplan prices award flights operated by Air Canada and select partners dynamically, the loyalty program still uses an award chart for most partner-operated flights. Therefore, you can often find sweet spots within the program.

For instance, we’ve seen availability to book short-haul domestic flights on United Airlines for 10,000 Aeroplan points, which would set you back 9,000 Chase points with this current transfer bonus. We’ve also seen first-class flights to Germany on Lufthansa for 90,000 to 100,000 points. This would cost 75,000 to 84,000 Chase points when you factor in the bonus.

As always, before transferring any points, make sure you find award availability since point transfers are irreversible.

You can also transfer your Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Marriott Bonvoy for a 50% bonus. If you transfer 1,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points, you’ll get 1,500 Marriott Bonvoy points. This transfer bonus ends Aug. 15.

Citi ThankYou Rewards is currently offering a 20% transfer bonus to Air France-KLM Flying Blue. This means you’ll receive 1,200 Flying Blue miles for every 1,000 Citi ThankYou Rewards points you transfer. The bonus runs through July 19.

Flying Blue offers saver-level award pricing for some itineraries between the U.S. and Europe, starting at the following rates:

• Economy awards: 25,000 miles (one-way)
• Premium economy awards: 40,000 miles (one-way)
• Business-class awards: 60,000 miles (one-way)

With this transfer bonus, you could book economy, premium economy and business-class flights to Europe by transferring 21,000, 34,000 and 50,000 ThankYou Rewards points to Flying Blue, respectively. Plus, you can save even more of your hard-earned rewards if your itinerary is part of Flying Blue’s monthly Promo Rewards.

TPG tip: Though availability can be sparse when searching for business-class fares, be sure to look ahead using the program’s calendar search function and set award seat alerts through third-party websites.

After being acquired by Marriott in 2024, Postcard Cabins began its integration into the Marriott Bonvoy program in May. At the time, only a handful of Postcard Cabins’ 29 locations across the country were bookable through Marriott Bonvoy, and points redemptions were not yet available.

Now, the full portfolio of Postcard Cabins is bookable via Marriott Bonvoy for stays using cash or points, with nightly rates starting at under $150 or 27,000 Marriott Bonvoy points per night (plus taxes and fees). Stays at Postcard Cabins will also earn points and elite night credits at Marriott’s standard rate.

If you haven’t yet been introduced to the brand, Postcard Cabins are luxury tiny cabins that let travelers connect with nature without sacrificing comfort or convenience. Each private cabin sleeps between two and four guests, with amenities like fully stocked kitchens, spa-inspired bath products and outdoor seating areas where you can dine alfresco or build a cozy fire at night.

Postcard Cabins locations are located within a two-hour drive of major cities like Los Angeles, Seattle, New York and Boston, so you are surrounded by nature but never too far off the beaten path (or from an airport).

Now that Postcard Cabins is fully integrated with Marriott Bonvoy, there are several ways to book your next glamping adventure using points.

Rather than booking directly through Marriott, you can also book Postcard Cabins through your favorite credit card travel portal. Postcard Cabins are currently only bookable through the Chase Travel portal, not the American Express Travel portal.

Though the Chase Travel portal underwent changes this month, if you were a Sapphire Preferred or Sapphire Reserve cardholder prior to June 23, you can currently still redeem Ultimate Rewards points through the portal for 1.25 or 1.5 cents per point, respectively. However, the fixed rate through the travel portal will end Oct. 27, 2027.

If you are a Chase Sapphire cardholder after June 23, your points can be redeemed at a rate of 1 cent per point, unless a Postcard Cabins location becomes available for Points Boost, which will allow eligible cardholders to redeem points for up to 2 cents per point.

The example above shows a Sapphire Preferred redemption when booking through the Chase Travel portal. You can book a two-night stay at Postcard Cabins Western Catskills for an all-in price of $668.82 or 53,505 Chase Ultimate Rewards points, which will give you a value of 1.25 cents per point.

The cash price is slightly higher than if you were a Marriott Bonvoy member booking directly, but this also gives you the option of redeeming an annual travel credit if you have an eligible Chase card.

Should you transfer points to Marriott or book via a travel portal?

If you booked a two-night stay at Postcard Cabins Western Catskills in August on Marriott’s website, it would cost $640 ($668 for nonmembers) or 155,000 Marriott points. This would give you a value of 0.4 cents per point.

TPG values Amex Membership Rewards points at 2 cents per point, Chase Ultimate Rewards points at 2.05 cents per point and Marriott Bonvoy points at 0.7 cents per point, per our June 2025 valuations. Therefore, if you transfer your credit card points to Marriott Bonvoy, you’d be losing more than half the value of your hard-earned rewards.

Although you’ll lose some value of your points if you book through the Chase Travel portal, it still provides a much better value than using your Marriott points or transferring your credit card points.
