October is in full swing, but we couldn’t step earnestly into Fall without a recap of some of our top looks of September! Take a look:

1. Kim, Kris and Khloe for Nike x Skims

Claires Life Kim Kardashian Khloe Kardashian Kris Jenner Serena Williams Latto Teyana Taylor And More Attend Nike X Skims Launch Party In New York Final 22

Nike and Skims joined forces for their first women’s performance and lifestyle collection, Bodies of Work, unveiled at the New York Public Library. Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner, and Khloé Kardashian attended the debut, where 58 sleek styles were presented in a live public performance. The collaboration blended sport and style seamlessly, marking one of the most talked-about moments after New York Fashion Week.

See more below:

2. The Combs Twins and Christian Combs at Laquan Smith

Fashion Bomb Kids came out in full force for the LaQuan Smith show, with the Combs twins, King Combs, Jordyn and Jodie Woods, Azzy Milan, and Ava Dash taking their places front row in striking LaQuan Smith looks. The young style stars embodied confidence and cool, cementing themselves as the next generation of fashion royalty.

3. Oprah, Gayle, and Usher at Ralph Lauren

Usher, Oprah, and Gayle King made a powerful trio at Ralph Lauren’s Spring 2026 New York Fashion Week show, each impeccably dressed in the brand’s signature elegance. The trio’s effortless sophistication embodied the timeless allure of Ralph Lauren, blending star power, friendship, and classic American style in one unforgettable front-row moment.

4. Meryl Streep as Miranda Priestley at Dolce & Gabbana

Miranda Priestley herself—brought to life once again by Meryl Streep—caused a stir at the Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2026 show as The Devil Wears Prada 2 continued filming during Milan Fashion Week. Seated directly across from Anna Wintour, the real-life inspiration behind her iconic role, the moment was pure fashion destiny. Wintour even smiled and waved in approval, sealing one of the most memorable full-circle moments of the season.

5. Teyana Taylor, Rue, and Junie and Desert Diamonds Event in NYC

Teyana Taylor and Ciara stepped out for the exclusive Desert Diamonds event at ArTecHouse in New York City, serving two distinct yet equally stylish looks. Ciara opted for a timeless little black dress, while Teyana turned heads in a croc-embossed leather jacket from Schiaparelli’s Fall 2025 collection. The multi-hyphenate star even paused for a sweet photo with her fashionable mini-mes, Rue and Junie — a moment that perfectly blended glamour and family charm.

That does it! Which look is your favorite?

We love a good come back story, and the iconic TV Host Wendy Williams was captured at LaQuan Smith SS ’26 RTW show during New York Fashion Week looking spectacular.

Williams, who has recently been in the spotlight for her guardianship and health issues, has turned a new page, and in a rare appearance the media mogul made it clear that she back, bigger and better.

Some people say, “a set back is just a set up for a comeback” and that statement certainly rings true looking at Wendy Williams. For the fashion show, she looked ultra fabulous in a statement LaQuan Smith black and white fur coat that she styled over a white button up shirt.

Williams, who has been known to wear mini shorts, opted for exactly that. She layered her black high waisted shorts over sheer tights, and added a sporty element with her Louboutin studded sneakers. Of course in true Wendy fashion she accessorized with a black snakeskin Hermes handbag, and her signature diamond “W” necklace.

From her make-up and hair down to her stylish outfit, Wendy Williams is beginning to look like her show could be back on air anytime soon. 5..4…3…2…1 Quiet on the Set!

Nine Favorite Things

You guys!! What a week it has been. My New York trip has been amazing. So, so, so good! And I’m ending it all on the biggest high note. Honestly, I’m not ready to head home today, but I suppose it’s time.

I don’t even know where to begin—there’s just been so much to share (and some things I can’t share quite yet!). The week was such a whirlwind that I actually had to pull up my calendar just to remember everything.

I flew in from Dallas Thursday night, quickly changed, and went straight to my one and only New York Fashion Week show—the Johnathon Simkhai show and after-party. It was, of course, beautiful and stunning. A long night, but so much fun, and I loved being there to support a friend. His pieces really are gorgeous!

Friday was full of work (it honestly felt non-stop), then an evening event that was really sweet. I met so many wonderful people there—from fashion to food to lifestyle—it was a fun night.

Saturday was all about fashion week again, with the Alice & Olivia presentation and Cynthia Rowley too. That took up most of the afternoon until dinner. I had a late dinner and then…back to work!

Sunday was less exciting, mostly writing and computer work all day long. But I did sneak out for dinner at Sartiano’s, which is always such a special spot. And yes, you have to try their desserts. So delicious!

Monday was another busy one. I filmed with Food 52 in the afternoon and had a full day of meetings after. My big meeting of the day went so well. If all goes as I hope, we’ll have some really exciting news to share soon—eeekkkk! Dinner that night was at Torrisi with our Snif family. It was SO good, such a special night, and the desserts here are top-notch too.

Tuesday brought more events in the afternoon, then a movie premiere and dinner at Kappo Masa uptown. Truly, the best meal I’ve had in New York. I’m not even a sushi person, but this was incredible. I was with a good friend, who brought his friend, designer Ronny Kobo. She ordered for the table, and every dish was perfection. We even finished with a chocolate mousse cake. Heaven!

Wednesday was our first shoot day. This shoot was for the November launch of our new Snif holiday candle. It was a magical shoot, and I’m so excited about this new scent. Then it was a late night dinner at San Sanbino, another favorite NYC spot.

Thursday was shoot day two—this time for our website! We’re launching a brand-new entertaining series very soon. I might even share it early because I’m that excited. The shoot was whimsical, fun, easy to recreate, and, honestly, the most special shoot yet. I’ll be sharing teasers below!

Friday I squeezed in some work and then took a late flight home. I’m already missing New York and planning my next trip back.

And that’s a wrap on this week. Wishing you the best first week of fall—my favorite season. The absolute best time of year is finally here!

Oh, and in case you missed it—if you’re apple picking this weekend, check out my 25 Easy Fall Apple Recipes roundup. So many cozy, yummy apple recipes to bake!

1. Things I’m Loving.

burning…our Apple Cider candle. This is my September candle. It’s soooo good. I burned it all week long in New York. This candle truly captures the scent of September, but it’s amazing all season long. But come October 1st, I’m striking another match and adding Pumpkin Smash to the mix! Or I may just cheat and start tomorrow.

lathering up with…Half Baked Pumpkin Smash Body Cream. Mom LOVES it too!

loving…the new J.Crew 2025 rollneck sweater. Normally, I only go for cashmere, but the relaunch of this sweater is so cute. It’s a great fall staple piece to wear for years. J.Crew has impressed me so much this last year. I love their pieces! Sharing a few other fall sweaters I love too.

everything in my cart (low)…Zara is always getting it right. Here are the new season fall pieces I would invest in. This 100% Wool V-Neck Sweater. AND this pretty Ruched Strapless Knit Top. Perfection. Also great – the Asymmetric Rib Knit Top + Soft Knit Cardigan. Sweaters all fall and winter long. You could create a casual look and pair the sweater with these ZW Collection Front Pleat Pants or these High-Waisted Balloon Pants. Love them both.

This is a very pretty Satin Effect Lace Top. Love the dainty detail.

I think my favorite piece is this Soft Scarf Top. Pretty!

Shoe-wise, we all need multiple pairs of boots. These Buckled Heel Boots are a great piece that can be worked into so many looks. Now that I need to be much more careful about my shoes (need to protect my ankle), I especially love these Leather Slingbacks 50th Anniversary edition. The kitten heel is a great height!

This is the PERFECT travel bag, yet so chic I would carry it in NYC too. Oh, and this cutie too, the Shoulder Shopper.

If you shop at COS, which you should, invest in this Checked Flannel Shirt.

listening to…The Truth About Carbs, GLP-1s, Sustainable Results (Harley Pasternak).

fall road trip…7 Small Towns to Visit This Fall That Feel Just Like Stars Hollow. I would do this! This certainly sounds like the perfect fall weekend trip. My Nonnie used to do this with a group of her college friends.

early season shopping…The Best Advent Calendars to Scoop Up Before December. It’s time, it is time! Let’s get prepped and ready, you all!

everything in my cart (beauty)…I’m getting back into a skincare routine and will slowly start adding retinol. I already know I love the Sunday Riley A+ High-Dose Retinoid Serum.

I want to try the Dr. Julius Few Clean Retinol and SkinCeuticals Retinol 0.3 (a favorite in the beauty industry).

into this…Wellness Birthday Parties Are on the Rise. I’ve actually heard a bit about wellness parties. Part of me is against it, but then part of me likes the idea. I don’t love it because I think there is too much information and talk about “wellness” right now. Wellness looks different for everyone, and you need to do what’s best for YOU. Don’t just follow your favorite influencers, you know? But I do love the idea of inviting friends or family out for a day of facials, massages, etc. It’s an interesting idea and one that I do enjoy much more than a huge, over-the-top party. What are your thoughts?

everything in my cart (high)…I think I talked about these last season too, but I came upon them again this week. The Hampton Strolls cashmere shoe. The look and description sound so wonderful. I really think I need to invest in them this fall.

The Coach Empire Carryall Bag 34 is the perfect everyday bag. If you want something to hold everything or a travel bag, get their Soft Empire Carryall Bag 48. I saw this bag in person this week and it’s even more perfect than it looks online.

what I loved this week…the Khaite New York Fashion Week spring 2026 runway show. Sophisticated, easy, and always so chic. Loved every piece that came down the runway.

How Did Raising Cane’s Put on a Fashion Show? We Asked the Designer http://livelaughlovedo.com/food-and-drink/how-did-raising-canes-put-on-a-fashion-show-we-asked-the-designer/ http://livelaughlovedo.com/food-and-drink/how-did-raising-canes-put-on-a-fashion-show-we-asked-the-designer/#respond Fri, 19 Sep 2025 16:15:16 +0000 http://livelaughlovedo.com/2025/09/19/how-did-raising-canes-put-on-a-fashion-show-we-asked-the-designer/ [ad_1]

Welcome to Deep Dish, a weekly roundup of food and entertainment news.

Amid the glitz and glam of New York Fashion Week, a surprising talking point sizzled to the surface: chicken fingers. Fast-food chain Raising Cane’s hosted an entire show designed by TikTok-famous fashion designer Joe Ando-Hirsh and inspired by breaded chicken. Bon Appétit talked to Ando-Hirsh about how he approached the task and how he’s receiving the ensuing discourse.

Also this week, Trader Joe’s is back with pumpkin-spiced Chardonnay—a logical marketing move for the grocery store chain. Jerry Greenfield of Ben & Jerry’s announced he’s leaving the company, citing disagreement with its parent company’s politics. Lastly, Samin Nosrat, of the famed cookbook Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat, is back with an encore.

Read more about chicken finger fashion and other food news around the internet below.

Fashion week typically challenges designers to predict and interpret future trends, tapping into street style, pop culture, and analytics to build a coherent and novel collection. Joe Ando-Hirsh, a popular fashion designer with a large following on TikTok, found himself faced with a task that was at once more circumscribed and entirely more open-ended than that of his peers: design a set of dresses inspired by…chicken fingers.

The ask came from Raising Cane’s, the chicken-focused fast-food chain, which hosted a show for New York Fashion Week. More accustomed to designing out of his small studio in Brooklyn, Ando-Hirsh was hesitant the direction would make sense with his brand, he shared with Bon Appétit. But Raising Cane’s gave him total freedom to run with the concept, encouraging him to weave in family backstory (“I can’t lie: I’m a sucker for that,” he says). Over a short (and “exhausting”) two months, he turned out a collection of five dresses, each calling on the breaded chicken in different ways. One was designed to look like Louisiana’s state flower, the magnolia. Another was crafted in the likeness of an actual chicken finger, hued golden to appear fried, with a [shimmering] hand-beaded crust. Another, draped in buttery yellow fabric, matched the chain’s canine mascot, Cane III, who was supposed to walk in the show before falling sick. The premise of the fashion show drew plenty of social media chatter, the trolls emerged from their dens like clockwork to critique, and, by the metrics of engagement, Raising Cane’s came out on top, with plenty of precious Fashion Week headlines. “I’m happy that the overall reception was positive,” Ando-Hirsh says—not too shabby for his first Fashion Week foray. —Li Goldstein, associate newsletter editor

Elsewhere on the internet

For a second year in a row, Trader Joe’s is rounding out its autumn arsenal with a pumpkin-spiced wine. We would imagine that there’s significant overlap in the Venn diagram between the pumpkin spice enthusiasts and Trader Joe’s fanatics of America, for which this wine is optimized. Rating it a 6.5/10, publication Sporked, which reviews grocery store items, writes that “it tastes like spiced apple juice,” less so than Chardonnay. —L.G.

Jerry Greenfield of Ben & Jerry’s fame left his position as a salaried brand ambassador with the company he helped found and build over its nearly half-century-long history. “I never thought I would have to write this, but after 47 years Jerry has made the difficult decision to stand down from the company we built together,” wrote cofounder Ben Cohen on Instagram.

His resignation, as he explained in the open letter posted to Cohen’s Instagram, is in response to parent company Unilever’s attempts to silence both the brand and Greenfield on a number of social issues—the war in Gaza among them. “Standing up for values like justice, equity, and shared humanity has never been more important,” Greenfield wrote in the open letter, “yet Ben & Jerry’s has been silenced and sidelined for fear of upsetting those in power.” —Sam Stone, staff writer

Demi Lovato Just Made the Straight French Manicure a Thing — See Photos http://livelaughlovedo.com/beauty/demi-lovato-just-made-the-straight-french-manicure-a-thing-see-photos/ http://livelaughlovedo.com/beauty/demi-lovato-just-made-the-straight-french-manicure-a-thing-see-photos/#respond Fri, 19 Sep 2025 10:15:15 +0000 http://livelaughlovedo.com/2025/09/19/demi-lovato-just-made-the-straight-french-manicure-a-thing-see-photos/ [ad_1]

In no community is “to each their own” more true than the beauty coterie. I know that if you don’t get a bob right after I get bob, it’s not because you don’t like my bob—it’s because you just prefer longer hair for yourself. And while I know plenty of people who insist on a squared-off nail shape, it’s just never been for me. I prefer the softer look of an oval or almond shape, especially if there’s a French manicure involved. But Demi Lovato might have just recruited me to the square side with what her nail tech is calling the “micro straight French.”

Lovato is getting the word out about her upcoming ninth studio album, It’s Not That Deep, and that includes bopping around New York City during New York Fashion Week. The singer was spotted in a variety of devastatingly cool outfits, like a red long-sleeve top and low-slung black pants, and a belted, ribbed, burgundy catsuit. But just in case you couldn’t quite zoom in enough to get a close-up of her equally awesome nails, her go-to nail artist, Natalie Minerva, is happy to oblige.

The Emerging New York Fashion Brands To Watch For NYFW Spring/Summer 2026 http://livelaughlovedo.com/beauty/the-emerging-new-york-fashion-brands-to-watch-for-nyfw-spring-summer-2026/ http://livelaughlovedo.com/beauty/the-emerging-new-york-fashion-brands-to-watch-for-nyfw-spring-summer-2026/#respond Mon, 08 Sep 2025 21:26:49 +0000 http://livelaughlovedo.com/2025/09/09/the-emerging-new-york-fashion-brands-to-watch-for-nyfw-spring-summer-2026/ [ad_1]

Over the past few years at New York Fashion Week, there’s been chatter in some circles that New York fashion is dead, notably in the wake of some NYFW mainstays (most recently Willy Chavarria) moving their shows overseas. And while it is a loss to no longer see some old favorites on the fashion week calendar, there are so many emerging New York designers showing this upcoming season that have still yet to get their flowers.

Among the heritage houses still regularly showing in New York are Coach, Tory Burch, Luar, Christian Siriano, and Jason Wu. But it’s the fresh talent that’s been causing a stir these past couple of years, including Zoe Gustavia Anna Whalen, who had her first on-calendar debut during the Fall/Winter 2025 season, and Colleen Allen, who hit the scene with her Fall/Winter 2024 collection.

Especially now, as the city’s garment district is battling a recently approved rezoning plan in Midtown, and market instability is forcing even established brands to shutter, supporting New York brands has never been more important. It’s also never been more fun. From frilly frocks and crochet tops to polished tailoring and elevated basics, brands are designing for every aesthetic under the sun, for those who know where to find them.

For your next wardrobe refresh, consider eight of some of the coolest, New York-based brands to shop today and every day, from Diotima and Tanner Fletcher to Zoe Gustavia Anna Whalen and Allina Liu — your closet (and the local community) will thank you.

Tanner Fletcher

In Tanner Fletcher’s designs, there’s no need for gendered labels or arbitrary boxes — it’s simply clothes for people who like them. The duo behind the brand opts for high-quality materials to craft everything from silk gowns and tailored suiting to classic knitwear and quilted jackets, making garments that feel like “future heirlooms” for generations to covet and enjoy. Celebs from Ariana Grande and Bad Bunny to Alan Cumming and Alex Consani have all been spotted wearing various Tanner Fletcher pieces, and the buzzy brand is quickly becoming a staple of New York fashion.

Diotima

Designed between New York and Jamaica, Diotima is the brand on everyone’s lips these days — and for good reason: The label’s gorgeous, signature Jamaican-made crochets ooze sophistication with an edge. Designer and founder Rachel Scott’s Jamaican heritage is infused in every aspect of the brand — the textiles (and where they’re sourced from), the artisans, and the designs themselves — and Diotima’s quiet power challenges the traditional, Eurocentric view of what a luxury brand looks like. Scott was recognized by the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) as the 2024 American Womenswear Designer of the Year for her work at Diotima, and she was also recently named the new creative director of Proenza Schouler.

Zoe Gustavia Anna Whalen

Enter the ethereal, medieval world of Zoe Gustavia Anna Whalen, where each delicately draped handmade garment seeps with otherworldly wisdom and charm. The artist and eponymous designer breathes new life into forgotten and deadstock textiles, like vintage tea cloths and antique linens, creating wearable, sculptural pieces that look like a folkloric storybook come to life. The brand made its official on-calendar NYFW debut during the Fall/Winter 2025 season with a dreamy, candlelit runway production, where models clad in suits of armor lumbered alongside lithe ones in swaths of washed white and neutral-toned cloths. With celebs including Julia Fox, Lorde, and Rosalía donning the clothes, the emerging designer is one to watch in NYC.

Allina Liu

It’s hard not to love Allina Liu’s modern romantic vision of fashion, complete with ruffles, ribbons, and bows to the heart’s content. The brand’s feminine designs, like bubble-hem skirts, puff-sleeve tops, and drop-waist dresses, have a distinctly dark, edgy touch, often featuring shibari-like ties and lace-up closures. By infusing these signature details with narrative storytelling and elements of Liu’s Chinese heritage, the brand creates highly wearable art for the everyday in small, sustainably produced batches. The NYC-based designer was also announced as a finalist for the CFDA and Genesis design and innovation grant, and will be presenting her upcoming spring/summer 2026 collection at New York Fashion Week, catapulting her wondrous world into the spotlight.

Kallmeyer

If you’ve been hunting for the perfect capsule wardrobe, look no further than Kallmeyer for elegant, elevated basics. Constantly balancing masculine and feminine influences, designer Daniella Kallmeyer makes clothes that are all made to pair beautifully with one another for a swappable, modular closet. With crisp tailoring, cozy knits, and (mostly) neutral hues, the impossibly chic brand is quickly becoming a go-to.

Laraque

With dainty corsets, flowery laces, and bold cutouts, emerging New York-based brand Laraque presents a vivacious vision of a wardrobe, filled with ruffled pedal pushers, mini bubble dresses, and peplum tops. Designer Danielle Laraque founded the brand in 2021 after having spent her childhood sketching clothes (a dream come true), and together with creative director Alani Noëlle, the brand makes and manufactures all its clothes in New York City’s own garment district.

Lirika Matoshi

Lirika Matoshi designs clothes for the person who always wished they could wear life-size versions of Polly Pocket’s wardrobe (and now you can). The brand’s signature playful, whimsical designs are easy to spot and hard to forget — boasting bold cutouts, flouncy dresses spotted with dozens of bows, and flowy skirts and snatched corsets patterned in cherries and strawberries. The essence of childhood joy and nostalgia is strong in some garments, where fabric recreations of a vanity and various still-life rooms adorn corseted dresses, coats, and jackets. As a Kosovan native and longtime New York City resident, designer Lirika Matoshi splits manufacturing between the two places but still bases her eponymous brand in New York.

Christine Alcalay

Christine Alcalay believes in the transformative power of fashion, thoughtfully crafting chic separates, dresses, and even homewares for her namesake brand out of her atelier in Brooklyn. Using bold jewel tones, beautifully draped silks, and wool fabrications, the brand delicately balances structure and ease in its garments, making clothes that feel perfectly polished and put-together, yet natural and authentic to their wearer. Alcalay’s personal vision of fashion is tangible through each garment she creates with palpable intentionality and care. The independent designer prioritizes sustainability efforts in her work, often repurposing textile waste in new styles to combat waste, and designs and manufactures all her clothes in small batches in New York City.
