September 17, 2025

We renovated our current home back in 2020. Five years later, we are now revisiting a few projects we have put off, such as redoing our outdoor space, refreshing our landscaping, and renovating the front entryway! The outdoor space is almost finished and the permits are getting finalized for the entryway/sunroom, so now I am starting to focus on the fun stuff! I am shopping for furniture, artwork, rugs, and those finishing touches that tie all spaces together.

I just got this table and these chairs for our new outdoor dining area and am thinking about this rug (because duh color!). The way we broke up our yard we now have an additional sunning deck that I ordered two of these for. I am torn between adding some twinkle lights or a black and white umbrella so I am going to hold for now and see how I feel in a few weeks. If you are looking to add some color outdoors check out this set and this chair that I adore – it is available in some really fun pops.

For our entryway we need a few new items. I haven’t quite pulled the full concept together, but for the moment, I am eyeing this runner and a low sideboard like this, this, or this. We are reframing a wall, which will change the current use of the space. I am thinking that I will hang a custom artwork piece with gallery lighting with a higher, narrow table below.

See some more indoor, outdoor, and small decor touches that I am loving right now…

The Iconic 12-Foot Skeleton Is Back at Home Depot http://livelaughlovedo.com/hobbies-and-crafts/the-iconic-12-foot-skeleton-is-back-at-home-depot/ http://livelaughlovedo.com/hobbies-and-crafts/the-iconic-12-foot-skeleton-is-back-at-home-depot/#respond Tue, 29 Jul 2025 20:36:33 +0000 http://livelaughlovedo.com/2025/07/30/the-iconic-12-foot-skeleton-is-back-at-home-depot/ [ad_1]

Halloween has started to rival Christmas when it comes to outdoor decorations. From elaborate ornaments to intricate character displays, skeletons are taking on Santa in the holiday lawn games. The Home Depot has got you covered with its latest Halloween collection.

The products will be available for purchase on HomeDepot.com and The Home Depot app starting August 4 and will hit Home Depot store shelves this fall, but you can check out the collection right now. It features the new Gruesome Grounds Collection, a lineup of giant-sized creatures inspired by eerie forest settings, as well as fan-favorite Skelly.

A new spooky season staple, the 12-foot giant-sized Skelly is back, along with two new friends: a 5-foot dog with glowing eyes and a creepy cat. These are in addition to Skelly’s original pet dog. Plus, a 6.5-foot animated Skelly will also hit stores this year. The interactive animatronic features Bluetooth capabilities that allow users to interact with guests and passersby.

If you’ve been experiencing frightening FOMO, now’s the time to add this giant viral skeleton to your yard and freak out your neighbors. The massive lawn décor features a metal frame with posable arms so you can get creative with the look.

It also comes with LCD eyes that move and blink for an extra dose of creepiness, plus there are eight different eye effects and colors, including blue, hazel, stars, hearts, fireworks, flames, dragons, and swirls, which are easily controlled via remote. There is a plug-in power adapter and a timer.

According to The Home Depot, it takes two people 60 minutes to assemble the big guy. Skelly comes with a tether and ground stakes so you can secure it safely in your lawn.

If you already own Skelly, fill up your yard with other scary favorites from The Home Depot Halloween collection.

Skip the stress of travel, and design a staycation destination you’ll love all summer long! Choose just one outdoor space, even a tiny one—a deck, side yard, or porch—and turn it into a refreshing summer escape! A summer vacation destination at home.

We did just that with our small bedroom deck incorporating what we got last year and a couple of new pieces — all at Wayfair!

Today come take a peek at our Tiny Vacation Summer Destination at home and I’ll share 5 tips to create your own.

*** Click here for the above sources ***

Why I Love Small Transformations

I’m a big believer in creating a life you love—right where you live.

One of my favorite ways to do that in the summer?

Capturing the mood of a vacation—without ever leaving home. Skip the stress of travel, and design a staycation destination you’ll love all summer long.

That’s exactly what we did with our little bedroom deck with finds from Wayfair. The result? A delightful, charming space that feels like a mini vacation—no passport required.

The idea of creating a place you don’t want to leave can be the inspiration for big interior renovations and full-room makeovers (like we did for the Tiny Kitchen and our main kitchen) but it also works beautifully for mini-makeovers outdoors that you can finish in a day!

Today, I’m inviting you to take a peek at our Tiny Vacation Destination and I’ll share 5 simple tips so you can create one of your own.

Outdoor Rug

1. Start with an Outdoor Rug

An outdoor rug instantly grounds the space and helps define your “vacation destination zone.” It adds softness underfoot and makes even a small deck feel styled and finished.

I’m in love with this neutral patterned outdoor rug from Wayfair, and clearly Finnegan is, too.

2. Set Up a Bistro Table and Chairs

Channel the charm of a quaint bed-and-breakfast wherever you live with a small table and two chairs. Inviting for morning coffee, lunch for one, or evening tea. Bonus: it feels like an experience every time you sit there! If you have a small space, embrace it.

We have the TINIEST deck but it is a destination that can feel special in its own way because it is small! My son sat out here the other day with his laptop, it’s just enough space to enjoy a quiet moment alone.

I have two matching chairs for this table, but for a fun change and new texture I brought up these folding bamboo director’s chairs that we use as extra seating.

Because they fold up, it makes them ideal for a smaller home! We keep them in our entry closet so they’re always close by when we need to grab one.

3. Gather Pretty Serveware

Keep a few favorite dishes, napkins, and serving pieces ready for simple summer meals. Choose a few pieces you really love so you’ll be inspired to use them for impromptu gatherings.

Even a rattan tray for morning coffee can make each piece, space and occasion feel special.

4. Surround the Space with Planters

Use plant stands or potted plants to “nestle” your space and give it a cozy, tucked-away feel. Plus these give you the opportunity to add plants if you don’t have a lot of landscaping around your deck.

These wicker planters double as serving tables you can take the planter piece out and set the lower “tray” piece on top! So flexible and handy in a small space, too.

You can also add a charming touch like a portable serving cart nearby for drinks, flowers, or even your summer reading library.

This darling cart fits everywhere and is so handy, I could use several more!

5. Add Colorful Flowers

Whether you love tropical, garden-style, or wild and whimsical—colorful blooms instantly give a space that “summer vacation destination” mood.

Try a pop of coral or red to attract hummingbirds (and small pups). These dahlias are so joyful!

Greenery adds life, privacy, and softness to make it more inviting.

I’m so glad we have embraced this tiny deck as one of our favorite places to go! The dogs love it, and so do we.

With just a few simple touches, you can create a little destination that brings you joy all summer long.

Outdoor Home Decor – Julia Berolzheimer http://livelaughlovedo.com/fashion-style/outdoor-home-decor-julia-berolzheimer/ http://livelaughlovedo.com/fashion-style/outdoor-home-decor-julia-berolzheimer/#respond Tue, 03 Jun 2025 07:04:34 +0000 http://livelaughlovedo.com/2025/06/03/outdoor-home-decor-julia-berolzheimer/ [ad_1]

At the start of summer, the outdoors becomes an inviting extension of home open to light, color, and ease. Wicker chairs and small sofas with soft pillows create comfortable spots for lingering, while a natural rug brings warmth underfoot. Candles add a soft glow as the sun dips low, and small pots filled with herbs and blooms offer vibrant life in every corner. Rainbow towels draped over chairs and woven baskets for books or snacks keep things relaxed and ready for the rhythm of summer days. Every detail works together to make outdoor living feel thoughtful, effortless, and full of seasonal charm.

Handcrafted from rattan with a classic weave pattern, this urn provides elegant storage and display options, enhancing the natural charm of your outdoor decor.

This chic inflatable chaise lounger, adorned with vintage-inspired stripes, combines comfort and style, making it a standout addition to any poolside (or outdoor) setting.

Featuring a geometric zigzag striped pattern in soothing green hues, this woven rug, adds a perfect pop of color to brighten your outdoor spaces.
