There’s something about the start of fall that makes us want to draft mental mood boards—proof, perhaps, that back-to-school optimism never really dies. Here at Condé Nast Traveler, we like to chart new beginnings vis-à-vis destinations, keeping in mind the things we’re excited to bring along with us. This fall, some of us are embracing shoulder season travel, squeezing out the last bits of sunshine from places like the Hamptons or the South of France, while others are chasing the changing colors of the trees in Austin and Montreal. We’ve got a few weddings on the docket, too, which means we’re carefully considering what’s going into our suitcases. Here, our editors share what they’re up to in the autumn months ahead, and what they’re adding to their packing lists.

When my son was little, I used to live on the East End of Long Island, and I’m long overdue for a visit. Canoe Place Inn in Hampton Bays was vacant for a few years, but it’s been newly refurbished, so I’m curious to see what it’s like now. I’m also really psyched to stay at Shou Sugi Ban House, which is another property that didn’t exist when I lived in the area. I still dream about the delicious brussels sprouts and skillet cornbread at Cowfish, where you can have brunch by the inlet and watch boats go by. I used to work down the street from Tate’s on North Sea Road in Southampton, which is great if you don’t mind gaining 50 pounds every day. Most people don’t realize that those delicious crispy cookies in the ubiquitous green package originated from a real place! I especially look forward to stocking up on its gingerbread cookies, which are only sold in-store, and stashing them in my Dagne Dover backpack. I’ll be rocking this tuxedo shirt from Anthro and this denim blazer while hanging out, and dark neutrals from Beyond Yoga while jogging along Dune Road. Alexandra Sanidad, research director

Come October, I’ll be going to Montreal and then Quebec City to attend a travel conference. I’ve visited the former several times and love it dearly—when I’m there, I’ll eat, eat, and eat some more everywhere from Joe Beef and Fairmount Bagels to Vin Mon Lapin and Pichai. Between all the eating, I’ll do some walking—early autumn is a lovely time to be outside in this part of Canada—up Mont Royal as well as here, there, and everywhere in my trusty Weejuns, which are my walking shoes of choice. Most of my clothes are hand-me-downs or bought on eBay, but I will also likely be packing some broken-in Oxfords from J. Crew and my trusty pair of Achille jeans from A.P.C. (it will be well past Labor Day, but I find that cream-colored denim goes quite nicely with a navy sweater) in my Carl Friedrick carry-on. I also have a cable knit zip-up cardigan that belonged to my grandmother but looks something like this current model. The train will bring me to Quebec City, where I have not yet been but will be staying at the historic Fairmont Le Château Frontenac. Work can be such a drag. Charlie Hobbs, associate editor

Essentials for getaways near and far.

Coach/Amazon/The Zoe Report

We may receive a portion of sales if you purchase a product through a link in this article.

It’s no exaggeration to say that packing the right (or wrong) products can make or break a trip. But after 10 years of traveling professionally, I can finally say that I’ve got the art of packing down to a science.

You don’t need me to remind you to pack the essentials — I’m sure you’ve got your headphones and toothbrush covered — but the products ahead are the ones I swear by for making trips more pleasant, comfortable, or fun.

From beauty products that help fake eight hours of sleep after a red eye to my favorite transitional fashion staples, these are the products this travel writer can’t go on a trip without.

A Slouchy Shoulder Bag

Lately, I’m all about a slouchy shoulder bag, and the Coach Brooklyn bag strikes the perfect balance of being chic and roomy enough to hold all my essentials. I’m especially loving this rich brown color for fall, but it’s neutral enough that it’ll go with everything in my wardrobe, all year long.

Self-Heating Eye Masks

These are a relatively recent obsession, but I always pack a few of these self-heating eye masks in my bag. They really help with post-flight redness and dry eyes when you’re stuck in a stuffy plane cabin for upwards of six hours.

A Warm Wool Coat

When packing for a trip, I always try and opt for things that can be dressed up or down with ease. Case in point? This gorgeous wool coat from ALIGNE; it can lean daytime casual when paired with wide-leg jeans and sneakers, but works just as well with an LBD for a night on the town. It’s even big and cozy enough to function as a makeshift blanket on the plane.

Hydrating Sheet Masks

I never travel without a sheet mask — there’s something about slipping one on that makes eating pasta in your bathrobe feel 10 times more special. Lately, I’m obsessed with these masks from Dr.Althea, which — just as their name suggests — leaves you with skin that looks dewy, juicy, and hydrated. Perfect for slipping on after a long flight.

Under-Eye Patches

Likewise, I always bring a stash of under-eye patches with me wherever I go. These include niaciniamide, retinal, and caffeine to hydrate and depuff, and are much less slippery than their hydrogel counterparts. I wear these most mornings while getting ready, and also find them to be more airplane-appropriate than a full on sheet mask.

A Pair Of Luxuriously Plush Socks

For long flights, I always bring a pair of plush socks to change into once we’ve taken off. My official “plane socks” are from the Barefoot Dreams CozyChic collection — you’ll be hard pressed to find a cozier pair around.

Gut-Supporting Probiotics

A Tablet

My Fire HD tablet has made long train/plane rides 10 times more enjoyable, and I’m not sure why it took me so long to buy one. Don’t forget to invest in a case that allows you to prop it up.

Plenty Of Lip Balm

Lately, I’ve been gravitating towards these mini eos lip balms. I love the cute packaging and nostalgic scents (like raspberry kiwi and honey apple), but I also find them to be genuinely moisturizing, without any of the gloopiness that can be off-putting. Bonus points for being tiny enough to stash in my front denim pocket (and coming with two extra to keep in my various bags).

A Matching PJ Set

Matching PJs are a must for me, always — they’re an essential component to the hotel room experience (bathrobe, big plush bed, crisp PJs… check check check). I’ve got dozens of pairs that I love, but this elegant cotton set from J.Crew is a classic.

An LED Makeup Mirror

Why does every hotel bathroom seem to have the worst lighting? Equipped with three brightness modes, this portable LED mirror ensures you never have to do your makeup in subpar lighting ever again.

A Mini Water Bottle

Most reusable water bottles are too bulky to realistically travel with, so I invested in this tiny, palm-size version. I call it my emergency water bottle and always keep it filled in my bag.

Single-Serve Matcha Packets

My matcha obsession is real, and these single-serve sachets allow me to get my fix wherever in the world I may be.

A Cozy Tracksuit

Maybe I’ve lived in the UK for too long, but I can’t go anywhere without a tracksuit. Perfect for morning coffee runs and long flights, my go-to brand is Adanola: I find their fits to be the most flattering.

The colors/styles available are practically endless, but I’m partial to the classic ‘AS’ oversized sweatshirt in gray melange; you can buy the matching sweatpants here.

A Comfy Pair Of Sneakers

These retro-inspired sneakers pair perfectly with my beloved travel tracksuits. They also happen to be incredibly comfortable for a long day of sightseeing.

The Hawaiian Island Travelers Skip (But Shouldn’t) + What to Pack – Ordinary Traveler http://livelaughlovedo.com/travel/the-hawaiian-island-travelers-skip-but-shouldnt-what-to-pack-ordinary-traveler/ http://livelaughlovedo.com/travel/the-hawaiian-island-travelers-skip-but-shouldnt-what-to-pack-ordinary-traveler/#respond Wed, 10 Sep 2025 02:37:19 +0000 http://livelaughlovedo.com/2025/09/10/the-hawaiian-island-travelers-skip-but-shouldnt-what-to-pack-ordinary-traveler/ [ad_1]

Our in-depth travel guide includes tips on what to do, where to stay, what to pack, and the best time to visit the Big Island of Hawaii.

Smaller islands like Oahu and Maui often take the spotlight when it comes to popular Hawaiian vacation spots, but let’s not forget the Big Island! It’s large size makes for varying landscapes, numerous activities, and limitless opportunities to indulge in the local Hawaiian lifestyle.

Big Island Hawaii Travel Guide & Packing Tips

The Best Time to Visit The Big Island

Tourism season dips between September and November as families are leaving from summer vacations, so this is great time to enjoy reasonable hotel prices and lots of sunshine.

Surfers will likely catch the best waves from December to March, but it’s also pricey time to visit in late winter as many people come to escape harsh winter conditions in other areas of the country. Visiting during April or May can lead to cheaper hotel prices as well, but temperatures won’t be as warm as in the fall.

The Best Time to Visit Big Island HawaiiThe Best Time to Visit Big Island Hawaii

Flights to Hawaii

You can expect to spend a large portion of your trip’s budget on your flight to Hawaii, so try to save money here any way you can. Travel on a Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday for the lowest airfare prices; depending on where you fly out from, just being flexible on the day you fly out will save you on average between $100-$300.

It might be easier to just click the “round-trip” button when searching for flights, but booking flights separately can pay off in a really big way. Booking a domestic flight from your nearest city to the west coast (think Los Angeles or San Diego) through a budget airline like Southwest, and then booking your flight from there to the Big Island can save you $100+ total per person.

If you want to explore both sides of the island, consider booking one-way flights, arriving in Kona and departing from Hilo — or vice versa.

Lastly, book as early as possible. This is not one of those vacations you’ll want to “wait and see” if you’ll find any last-minute deals, because you almost never will. I would recommend booking at least 5 months in advance, but plan your trip even sooner if you can.

Climate in Hawaii

Consistently temperate weather on the island with temperatures in the 70’s and 80’s make Hawaii a warm, tropical paradise all year long. Daily showers are common in any month or time of year, however there are usually more storms and rainfall in winter months between October and March. With this in mind, pack light layers!

Where to Stay on The Big Island, Hawaii

A short 30 minute drive north of the Kona Airport is Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel — just a two-minute walk from the widely popular Hapuna Beach. All rooms boast amazing ocean views, and the hotel itself has every vacation amenity you could need.

Families or groups might consider renting a condo for more space and cheaper prices, like the beach-side condo resort Royal Sea Cliff Kona that has a central location and rates as low as $115/night in the off season.

On the eastern side of the island, the Castle Hilo Hawaiian Hotel and intimate Hale Kai Hawaii Bed & Breakfast are great options near Hilo.

Transportation in Hawaii

Without a doubt, rent a car. A drive around the entire island (without stops) can be done in as little as 6-7 hours, so splurge a little on a 4 wheel drive and spend a few days exploring! There are too many must-see spots scattered around — both along the coast and hidden in lush reserves — to stay in one spot the entire duration of your stay.

Hawaiian Airlines does offer flights from one side of the island to the other, and taxis are available in urban areas near hotels and airports, but both are pricey; I would recommend against both. Renting a car is the best bang for your buck, given the freedom it allows you and the time it saves.

Top Things to Do on the Big Island, Hawaii

Hawaii Volcanoes National Park

With one of the world’s most active volcanoes, this beautiful national park might be one of the most unique parks in the country! Lava flow straight from the volcano into the sea at Kamokuna is a sight not to be missed, and take a drive around the Crater Rim for a spectacular view.

I’d also recommend making one of your stops the Thurston Lava Tube — an awesome lava tube discovered over 100 years ago with lush forest surroundings and interesting formations created by rushing red lava.

Waipiʻo Valley

The Waipi’o Valley is a stunning valley on the northern coast of the island, and is most easily experienced with a guide rather than navigated alone (private property makes accidental trespassing all too easy!). Take in the towering Hi’ilawe Falls — Hawaii’s tallest waterfall! — from afar at the Hi’ilawe Falls Lookout, or hike through the valley floor to reach the foot of the falls and experience it firsthand.

Fair Wind Snorkel Cruise

A half-day morning cruise with snorkeling, BBQ, and water slides is the perfect way to spend a day on the water in Kona! Should you choose a shorter trip in the evening, you can even have an up-close-and-personal experience with the gentle manta rays known to inhabit an area just five minutes from the coast. We love that this activity is great for couples, friends, and families alike!

Rainbow Falls

Just west of Hilo lies the 80-foot Waianuene waterfall, nicknamed Rainbow Falls for its abundant rainbows. This postcard-worthy beauty is easily accessible (for viewing) in the Wailuku River State Park, but if you’re set on swimming you can do so at the nearby PeePee Falls and adjoining boiling pots at your own risk. This is a great place to see a spectacular waterfall without having to venture too far off the beaten path.

Hawaii Packing Essentials

Comfortable Sandals

Comfortable sandals that will stay secure on your feet are essential; at some point during your stay, you’re almost guaranteed to come across beaches or rough terrain that will require adequate footwear.

Sun Hat

A floppy sun hat (or at least a standard ball cap) should be easy to pack and will keep you protected from the sun’s UV rays — even when it’s cloudy or overcast! You’re just as likely to get a sunburn when clouds are out or when rain showers sweep through.

Safe Sunscreen

Oxybenzone — a common ingredient in many sunscreens — can bleach and even kill coral, so be considerate of the environment and double check that you pack a sunscreen that doesn’t contain ingredients that harm the natural habitat!

Long-Sleeved Rash Guard

Water temperatures are usually warm given the climate, but a little extra sun protection from a long-sleeved rash guard is always advised. I’d also recommend packing at least two swimsuits, so you’re never stuck re-wearing a wet suit and always have a dry one available!

I’m a backpack guy. Don’t even ask me about rolly bags—they’re like dragging a ball and chain; slow, loud and useless in gravel and snow. They don’t fit under your seat. Half the time you end up having to check them anyway. I hope that when I die at the ripe old age of 107, they find me carrying a great carry-on backpack filled with tightly rolled socks and underwear.

Dylan Thuras: I’m Dylan Thuras.

Johanna Mayer: I’m Johanna Mayer.

Amanda McGowan: And I’m Amanda McGowan.

Dylan: And this is Atlas Obscura. Today is a Listener Mailbag episode where we answer all of your questions, your travel questions, your life questions, your esoteric questions. Amanda and Johanna are here trying to help me.

Johanna: Yes. And today we are spending the entire episode on a single question. Because somebody wrote in with a question that has left me deeply, deeply shaken to my core.

Dylan and Amanda: Okay.

Johanna: You’ll see.

Dylan: High stakes.

This is an edited transcript of the Atlas Obscura Podcast: a celebration of the world’s strange, incredible, and wondrous places. Find the show on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and all major podcast apps.

Johanna: Okay, here we go. Our one horrifying question. This came from a listener who wished to remain anonymous for reasons that will soon become clear.

Amanda: I’m scared.

Dylan: Oh, boy.

Johanna: Okay. So they write, “I’ve been with my boyfriend for about a year and things are going great. We’re super compatible. Love doing the same things. Recently, we decided to take our first substantial international trip together. We’re going to be away for 10 days. Then I made a horrifying discovery. He suggested that instead of taking two carry-on bags plus personal items, we each only bring a small backpack and share one checked bag for both our sets of clothing. What do I do?” And then in all caps, “PLEASE HELP.”

Amanda: Huh. Why?

Johanna: This is all the information I have, Amanda.

Dylan: Two small backpacks on the plane and then one big checked carry-on.

Johanna: With all of, I’m assuming all your clothes, all your toiletries, like everything else together.

Amanda: Well, that means one person’s going to get stuck lugging that big bag around. Is he ready to do that? It’s probably going to fall on him.

15 Greek Island Hopping Carry-on Essentials http://livelaughlovedo.com/travel/15-greek-island-hopping-carry-on-essentials/ http://livelaughlovedo.com/travel/15-greek-island-hopping-carry-on-essentials/#respond Sat, 21 Jun 2025 11:01:59 +0000 http://livelaughlovedo.com/2025/06/21/15-greek-island-hopping-carry-on-essentials/ [ad_1]

Greece will always hold a special place in my heart. It was the very first international destination my (now) husband and I visited, nearly a decade ago—and, just last year, it’s where we went on our honeymoon. On the former trip, we visited Athens, Santorini, and Crete; on the latter, we spent two gorgeous weeks island hopping from Paros to Milos and then on to Sifnos.

Visiting three Greek locales requires a foolproof packing list to ensure that every activity, terrain, and climate is accounted for. I also highly recommend sticking to a carry-on bag if you can (at least, that’s my preference, especially when navigating the narrow streets of Greece). Below, explore the 15 non-negotiable travel clothing and accessory essentials I relied on that deserve a spot in your suitcase when visiting the Greek Isles this summer.

Best Overall Deals

A staple button-up

Quince

A solid button-up blouse — ideally in linen, cotton, or silk — is at the top of my summer vacay list. I personally packed this Quince Washable Stretch Silk Blouse on my trip, and it’s one I often take on any vacation because it’s so versatile and easy to wear. Not only is it super lightweight and breathable (a must in a warm climate like Greece), but it also takes up virtually no space in your suitcase.

Plus, this top is the ultimate clothing chameleon: Pair it with casual shorts and sneakers, wear it with a skirt and heeled sandals, or toss it over your swimsuit as a classy cover-up. I personally own it in white (and find that’s the most versatile), but it also comes in a number of other lovely colors.

Lightweight shorts

Quince

For days of visiting beaches or exploring Cycladic towns, I always reach for an easy-to-wear pair of shorts. On extra warm days, I’m a fan of wearing a loose-fitting linen option like these Quince European Linen Shorts, which I packed for my last trip to Greece. I own them in black, but they’re also available in a number of pretty colors and patterns to suit any preference.

For something a bit more structured, you could opt for these classic Madewell Bermuda Shorts. Either of these neutral options could easily mix and match with any of the tops in your luggage, so there’s no need to pack more than one pair in your carry-on.

Linen pants

Halara

A gorgeous pair of linen pants is a must for any Greek vacation. I’ve been obsessed with the Australian fashion brand Dissh’s elastic linen trousers for travel, but if you’re looking for something at a lower price point, you can’t go wrong with this $40 wide-leg pair from Halara. Whichever route you choose, you’ll have a wrinkle-free, space-saving option that goes with everything, whether you’re exploring the city or hanging by the beach.

A maxi dress

Nordstrom

Let’s be real, when we’re packing for vacation—especially somewhere as scenic as Greece—you’re going to want to bring at least one standout, picture-worthy outfit. My personal favorite: a statement dress, like this stunning floral one from ASTR the Label. It’s worth noting that while a maxi dress may take up a bit more space than its shorter counterpart, it’s a one-garment outfit, which is ultimately a space-saver.

Any dress with a vibrant pattern or unique design will make you feel like an ethereal Greek goddess, in my opinion. However, you can still go bold with something understated like this smocked maxi dress from Amazon-loved brand PrettyGarden. Personally, I packed this Favorite Daughter linen dress on my last trip to Greece, and it was a chic hero piece for my vacation wardrobe.

Functional sandals

Amazon

On a trip to Greece, you’re going to need sandals that are well-suited for wearing to the beach, walking along cobblestone paths, and maybe even hiking down into secluded coves (yes, this came up while I was in Milos). For that reason, I’d recommend packing a pair of sandals that are well-suited for any active adventure, like the Teva Hurricanes or Merrell Speedfusions.

A casual cover-up

Amazon

When I’m headed to a coastal destination like Greece, I love packing a simple dress like Dissh’s Lotus Linen Dress that I can toss on with a pair of sneakers and head out for a day exploring, or slip over my swimsuit before heading to the sea. It embodies that effortless Greek style, hardly takes up any packing space, and creates a complete outfit with just one easy-to-wear piece. For something a bit more budget-friendly, I found this linen dress at Amazon that achieves the same vibe at a fraction of the price.

Reliable walking sneakers

Nordstrom

While you’ll most likely spend your days ambling around Greece in a pair of sandals, it’s always a good idea to bring at least one pair of closed-toed shoes on any trip (especially for when the temps drop at night). For the purposes of a Greek vacation, I’d keep it simple with a pair of white sneakers. On our trip, I opted for classic Reebok Club Cs, whereas my husband packed a pair of white and navy Nike Killshot leather shoes. Pro tip: I’d wear these on the plane to save space in your bag.

A cute bathing suit

Nordstrom

A trip to the Greek Isles means plenty of time swimming in pools and the sea; therefore, a chic swimsuit is a must. For lounging by the pool at Andronis Minois Paros, I packed the LSpace Hazel Ribbed Bikini Top and matching bottoms, which I adored because both are super comfortable, offer a decent amount of coverage for a two-piece, and also the white piping gives the classic black bikini a more unique design.

However, if you’re not a fan of bikinis, then check out the Baewatch Colorblock Trim Ribbed One-piece Swimsuit, which has a similar style, or Cupshe’s ultra-flattering one-piece that’s only $40 at Amazon.

A waterproof bag

Amazon

Hopefully, your Greek isle itinerary includes plenty of time at the beach and on the water, which means your valuables might be in danger of getting wet or sandy. That’s where a waterproof bag like this one from Amazon (which has thousands of five-star reviews) can come in handy. Simply slip in your phone and then enjoy the Aegean Sea stress-free.

Dressier sandals

Amazon

While you can get away with dressing pretty casual in Greece, I like to have at least one pair of sandals that feel elevated enough to wear to a nicer dinner, which is why I packed the Nisolo Platform Sandals for my trip and absolutely loved wearing them. Not only do they have incredible support for long days on your feet, but they also work just as well with a pair of shorts as they do with a more elegant dress.

A wind-resistant jacket

Vuori

Even though Greece gets quite warm in the summer, temperatures can drop at night,  especially if you’re visiting one of the windier islands like Milos. I recommend packing at least one jacket, like this insulated option from Vuori, which is one of my go-tos for just about any trip—it features a lightweight yet warm construction and neutral colorway that goes with everything.

A versatile cardigan

Jenni Kayne

Speaking of layers, a cardigan is another great option for when the temperatures dip come nightfall. A few of my favorites include the Jenni Kayne Murphy Cardigan, which you can wear on its own as a sweater or draped over a dress (it came in handy when we ferried over to Sifnos, where we experienced the incredible cuisine and meandered about the breezy cliffside towns). Over at Amazon, you can achieve the same look with the Verdusa cropped cardigan ($30) or the Amazon Essentials V-neck Cardigan Sweater that’s on sale for $17.

A chic little scarf

Nordstrom

One of my favorite accessories to pack is a silk scarf. It takes up virtually no room in your luggage, but can completely transform an outfit by adding a splash of color to an otherwise simple ensemble. Most of the scarves in my collection are either passed down from my mom or sourced vintage, but I spotted a couple that would be a great addition to anyone’s collection, like this pretty blue and white option from Kurt Geiger, bold printed Nordstrom one, or even this silky floral-adorned option from Amazon that’s on sale for $13.

Signature sunglasses

Amazon

An iconically shaped pair of sunglasses is a great space-saving accessory that can elevate your entire outfit while also protecting your eyes. I packed these fun cat-eye sunglasses from Maui Jim for my last trip to Greece, and I love these sunnies for their vintage style, along with the fact that they feature polarized lenses, a must when walking around Greece or relaxing by the pool at our sophisticated yet understated hotel, Verina Astra. For a lower price point option, I’d recommend Goodr’s no-slip, no-bounce Circle G shades for $25.

Cooling pajamas

Nordstrom

When I’m enjoying a dreamy adventure abroad, I want my sleepwear to rise to the occasion. I am currently obsessed with the silky-smooth pajama sets from Eberjey, which feel truly luxurious on my skin. The breathable fabric also stays fresh and clean after multiple wears, reducing the need to pack excessive sleepwear. My other favorite summery shorts sets (both on vacation and at home): Cozy Earth’s bamboo PJs, Quince’s 100% European Linen PJ set, and Old Navy’s $40 Poplin Pajama Short Set.

Statement jewelry

Amazon

Another small accessory that can make a big impact: jewelry, of course. For a Grecian vacation, I love this Pavoi coin necklace at Amazon, which only costs $17, or this layered set from Aritzan Joyeria, both of which help upgrade even a simple outfit. I’m also a fan of these lovely Gorjana braided earrings for the same reason.

What I’m Packing for Greece This Summer http://livelaughlovedo.com/fashion-style/what-im-packing-for-greece-this-summer/ http://livelaughlovedo.com/fashion-style/what-im-packing-for-greece-this-summer/#respond Sat, 14 Jun 2025 04:56:12 +0000 http://livelaughlovedo.com/2025/06/14/what-im-packing-for-greece-this-summer/ [ad_1]

For Greece, I’m packing striking yet effortless pieces that balance bold style with comfort. Fluid silks, sculptural swimwear, sharply tailored sets in vibrant hues, and dresses with airy volume and open backs that move easily through warm breezes and winding streets. Sleek sandals offer comfort for long strolls while still holding their own at a sunset dinner. Accessories are artful but unfussy, from oversized sunglasses to woven leather bags and sculptural jewelry that catches the light. Every piece earns its place for how it wears in the heat and how it captures the spirit of a sun-drenched escape.

The duffel bag has been the tote of choice for travelers for decades. The right duffel is easily packable, easily squishable, and very robust. For some people, it’s an essential item that can be stuffed, tossed, and stored in just about any space.

Although I generally prefer carry-on backpacks for my travels, sometimes a carry-on duffel bag is just a better option—especially if you’re the type of person to just toss your belongings into your open duffel bag without any kind of organization.

Or maybe you just prefer the style.

There are so many choices out there. Different sizes, materials, features, and quality levels create an overwhelming environment that can leave new travelers in indecision.

That’s why I’ve picked out the best of the best and compiled this list of top picks, so you’ll find the best duffel bag for your travels!

1

Matador SEG45: Best Overall Carry-On Duffel

Matador SEG42 Travel PackMatador SEG42 Travel Pack

This backpack-duffel hybrid combines functionality and versatility to create one of the best bags on the market for travelers.

The Matador SEG45 made of 840D nylon and 420D nylon (with waterproofing), as well as ultra-durable 100D Robic Dynatec for the interior, so this thing is tough. There are lots of handy storage pockets that are zippered for ultimate organization, plus the straps are stowable for easy travel.

The clamshell opening gives you easy access to the interior, which is an ideal place to store larger items or dirty laundry. It also comes with an external-access padded laptop sleeve that’ll keep your laptop or tablet safe from the elements.

Buy it if you…

  • Waterproof zipper and materials
  • Apocalypse-ready construction
  • Versatile enough for both urban and outdoor trips
Don’t buy it if you…

  • Backpack straps don’t have much padding or comfort
  • The mostly-black interior makes it hard to find things inside
  • It’s expensive

2

COOLIFE Travel DuffelCOOLIFE Travel Duffel

COOLIFE is an up and coming budget travel brand that is best known for their sleek polycarbonate suitcases that are available on Amazon at a fraction of the price of higher-end luggage brands.

They also make a full range of functional and affordable travel gear, and the COOLIFE Travel Duffel is no exception. This carry-on duffel bag impressed us with the level of functionality it offers at such a low price point.

Surprisingly, this duffel isn’t just a floppy sack with a zipper and some handles. It’s made with a pretty burly outer material and has plenty of padding and structure throughout. It stands up on it’s own when empty, which makes it much easier to pack.

There’s also a padded laptop sleeve, multiple exterior pockets, and a luggage-handle pass-through so you can carry it on top of a suitcase.

It doesn’t look super cheap either. It looks professional enough to take on business trips.

To be clear, you aren’t getting high-end materials or innovative features here. This is still a pretty simple budget duffel bag. The zippers aren’t the highest quality, and the interior materials feel a bit cheap. But for the price, it’s hard to be disappointed.

Can you find even cheaper carry-on duffels out there? Absolutely. But this one balances affordability with a truly functional design and durable construction. If you’re on a budget, the COOLIFE Travel Duffel is a great choice that won’t fall apart on your first trip.

Buy it if you…

  • Classic design looks nice enough for work travel
  • Lower cost than other duffel bags on this list
  • Plenty of zippered external pockets
  • Great quality for the price
Don’t buy it if you…

  • Cheaper materials
  • Doesn’t have much internal organization

3

Peak Design 35L Travel DuffelPeak Design 35L Travel Duffel

For those that want to match functionality with style, the Peak Design Travel Duffel is one of the best carry-on duffel bags on the market. Peak Design is known for its specialized camera bags, but they aim to appeal to all travelers with this product.

Best of all, this duffel bag can be carried as a duffel, messenger bag, and backpack. The Cord Hook quick-connection system allows you to customize how each strap links to the bag.

Both the shoulder strap and top handles are padded, and the removable backpack straps increase the versatility of this duffel bag. The  400D nylon is extremely durable, but the added 800D nylon padding at the bottom is a thoughtful design feature that protects the most heavily-impacted part of the bag.

Style-wise, we love the color pairings and the touches of leather. The metal clasps and zippers also add to the sophisticated look of the bag!

If you’re interested in other Peak Design bags, check out our review for the Peak Design Travel Backpack.

Buy it if you…

  • This duffel is the perfect blend of elegance and functionality.
  • Removable backpack straps.
  • The leather accents are a beautiful addition, especially on the sage green bag.
  • For the eco-conscious travelers, this bag is made entirely from recycled materials.
Don’t buy it if you…

  • The magnet clasp in the handles are pretty weak.
  • Not as water-resistant as some options on this list.

The North Face Rolling Thunder 22The North Face Rolling Thunder 22

This 22″ rolling duffel fits around 40L worth of items and is the only one of two rolling duffel bags on this list. This design bridges the gap between a suitcase and a duffel bag. The soft yet durable nylon exterior is flexible enough to fit gear of all shapes without the restrictions of a hard-shelled suitcase, and the main compartment is simple, without pockets or padding.

The wheels on the Rolling Thunder are built for all conditions—they are larger with more tread than a traditional suitcase, so they can handle rougher terrains like cobblestone or unpaved paths. This rolling duffel bag is definitely built to go places you’d never dream of taking your shiny spinner suitcase.

Keep in mind that the wheel system makes this wheeled duffel bag heavier than a standard duffel. Although you won’t be carrying the Rolling Thunder, keep in mind that the weight of this bag with wheels could be an issue when it comes to airline weight restrictions.

Buy it if you…

  • Ultra-durable exterior material
  • Rugged, oversized wheels roll easily on rough surfaces
  • North Face products come with a lifetime guarantee
Don’t buy it if you…

  • Expensive
  • No compression straps to secure the load
  • No padded pockets for laptops or other electronics
  • No removable shoulder strap

5

Halfday Garment DuffleHalfday Garment Duffle

If you need to travel with a suit, dress, or other formal hanging clothes, a dedicated garment bag is the best way to keep them looking fresh and unwrinkled. But what if you also want the carry-all functionality of a duffel bag?

That’s where the Halfday Garment Duffel comes in. This unique hybrid design combines a full-size garment bag for hanging clothes with the versatility of a duffel. In a world full of duffel bags that all look the same, this innovation really stands out!

So how does it work?

The entire bag unzips to lay fully flat and open. This makes it easy to pack in suits, dresses, or other formal wear without taking them off the hanger. A protective panel then zips over the top of your hanging clothes to keep them from shifting around.

Once the garment bag section is packed, you zip up the sides to transform it into a duffel. It has a super wide opening that makes it really easy to pack in all your stuff. Plus, there are dedicated shoe pockets on either side to keep shoes separate from all your clean clothes.

Once you see it in action, the design is actually pretty simple; it’s just totally different from anything else I’ve seen on the market. And it works!

Now, if you want a more general do-everything duffel, the Halfday Garment Duffel probably isn’t the best choice. You wouldn’t want to use it as a gym bag or gear hauler for adventurous travel, but for anyone needing a more versatile garment bag, this is an awesome choice.

Buy it if you…

  • Versatile 2-in-1 design
  • Hanging garment storage keeps suits, dress shirts, and dresses looking good
  • Plenty of room for 3+ days of clothes
Don’t buy it if you…

  • Not as general-purpose as other duffel bags
  • Can’t access the hanging storage without unpacking everything else
  • Not-so-comfy shoulder straps don’t work well for long carries

6

KUHL Eskape Kanvas DuffelKUHL Eskape Kanvas Duffel

When KÜHL decided to create the Eskape 50 Kanvas, they were going for the toughest, most durable duffel on the market—something that would hold up for years of adventuring while still being usable for weekend trips or as an overnight bag. They nailed it. The durability, features, and rugged styling make this one of the best duffel bags for men.

KÜHL uses an incredibly tough TPU-laminated nylon for superior weatherproofing, meaning you could get caught in an unexpected rainstorm or snowstorm and your belongings will stay safe and dry. Even the double zippers are water-resistant. The nylon is tough enough that you could drop this duffel out of a moving vehicle, and it’ll stand up just find.

There are also a bunch of fun additional features, like two compressible dirty item pouches so you can keep your smelly laundry and shoes separate from the clean stuff. Lots of pockets add extra organization and stowable backpack straps will help you to avoid any snags while in transit.

Buy it if you…

  • Superior laminated nylon and other weatherproofing features keep your belongings super safe.
  • It comes with a side pocket that converts to a water bottle pocket.
  • Surprisingly comfortable shoulder straps
Don’t buy it if you…

  • Expensive (but it’ll last for ages)
  • Too big to be comfortable for smaller folks

7

Monos Metro DuffelMonos Metro Duffel

The streamlined, sleek Monos Metro Duffel is made with ethically sourced, ultra-microfibre vegan leather. At 23L it’s one of the smaller duffels on this list, but it’s truly a duffel bag you can take with you from the office to the gym, or from your co-working space to a weekend trip (or wherever you please, really).

There’s an internal sleeve that fits up to a 15″ laptop, and inner pockets for a water bottle or other valuables. This duffel also has a pass-through sleeve to secure to your main bag. The best thing about this duffel? It’s designed to work with the signature QuickSnap Modular Kit System so you can easily snap off and on the Classic Kit with all your essentials.

Finally, it comes in a handful of different colors. The Mahogany is particularly drool-worthy.

Buy it if you…

  • Works with the nifty QuickSnap Modular Kit System
  • Comes in a wide range of colors
  • The trolley sleeve turns into an extra pocket when not in use. Who doesn’t love extra pockets?
  • Fits up to a 15″ laptop
Don’t buy it if you…

  • This duffel is one of the more expensive on this list.
  • This small duffle bag won’t work for trips longer than 3 days or so

8

Timbuk2 Impulse Travel Backpack DuffelTimbuk2 Impulse Travel Backpack Duffel

Is it a travel backpack or a duffel? The Timbuk2 Impsulve Travel Duffel serves as both, with adjustable backpack straps that tuck away so you can convert it into a duffel bag.

This hybrid bag comes equipped with several features that many standard duffel bags lack: namely, internal compression straps, a water bottle pocket, and a padded laptop compartment.

Zippered mesh pockets on the U-shaped lid keep your small items in separate compartments from the main compartment, while external zipper pockets allow you to stow wet or dirty gear.

The harness system on this duffel backpack is more extensive than anything else on this list. Not only does it have shoulder straps, but it also has a hip belt complete with mini pockets to store your chapstick or a snack. The back panel is made of breathable polyethylene foam, and the sternum strap distributes weight so that carrying this duffel on long walks is a breeze. This is one of the best duffel bags if you prefer a backpack-style carry.

Buy it if you…

  • Laptop compartment fits 17-inch devices
  • Great lifetime warranty
  • Easy-to-clean material keeps this pack looking new for longer
  • Comfortable padded shoulder straps make it easier to carry long distances
Don’t buy it if you…

  • Zippers tend to be sticky and hard to maneuver, but they seem to ease up with time
  • No traditional over-the-shoulder strap option
  • It’s only available in one color—black.

9

Aer Travel DuffelAer Travel Duffel

This Aer Travel Duffel is minimalistic, spacious, and carry-on compatible. The clamshell opening provides suitcase-like access for easy packing rather than the U-shape opening that’s so common in this list.

However, this travel duffel bag looks incredibly professional—in fact, it looks almost more like a briefcase. You can easily transition from a work trip to a weekend adventure with this duffel bag in tow.

The interior pockets are intuitive, with a front organizational pocket, a padded sleeve for laptops up to 15.6 inches, and a mesh pocket in the main storage compartment. There are top compression straps and lockable zippers for extra security at the airport, and even a pocket for your water bottle. The functionality of such a minimalistic bag is seriously impressive, and it’s perfect for digital nomads.

Buy it if you…

  • Comes with a laptop pocket for devices up to 15.6 inches.
  • Plenty of external pockets
  • Easy-to-pack clamshell opening
  • Lockable zippers make this bag super secure.
Don’t buy it if you…

  • Gets uncomfortable to carry when it’s fully loaded
  • It looks a bit too briefcase-y

10

Patagonia Black Hole 40L Duffel BagPatagonia Black Hole 40L Duffel Bag

The Patagonia Black Hole Duffel may be one of the most highly regarded options out there. It’s burly yet lightweight, and it has an impressive water-repellant finish. It has two straps for backpack-style carry, so you can throw in all your gear without worrying about it being too heavy. The reinforced bottom makes this duffel bag extra durable, so you never have to worry about your equipment.

This duffel backpack has just the right amount of pockets: the large compartment has a U-shaped lid, where zippered mesh pockets allow you to store small gear on the underside. Exterior pockets provide easy access to all your travel essentials, so you don’t have to search through the black hole for your boarding passes in the security line.

And true to its name, the Patagonia Black Hole Duffel Bag is deceptively large. For the light-packer or one-bag traveler, you can fit enough stuff for a multi-week trip. And for those that bring a lot of stuff, the external daisy-chain links let you add other attachments.

This duffel bag comes in multiple forms: from various sizes to an array of colors (and even a rolling duffel option), there’s sure to be a version that fits any traveler’s needs.

The Patagonia Black Hole Duffel Bag has a bit of a cult following, and for good reason. If bomb-proof durability and straightforward functionality are what you’re after, this is one of the best duffel bags out there.

Buy it if you…

  • The straps make this perfect for lugging around heavy gear without worrying about sore shoulders.
  • Multiple color options appeal to many travelers.
  • Versatile design gives traveler’s many options, but we love the classic 40L option as a carry-on duffel bag.
Don’t buy it if you…

  • This bag is on the pricier end. But for those willing to invest the money, this duffel is built to last.
  • Traditionalists may miss the standard over-the-shoulder strap.
  • Only exterior pockets; there’s no internal pockets for compartmentalizing clean and dirty clothing.

11

Rains Hilo Weekender BagRains Hilo Weekender Bag

Rains is a modern outerwear brand that specializes in waterproof jackets and bags. They combine minimalist Scandinavian design with durable waterproof materials. Take a look through their website and you’ll find some really unique styles, plus products that are just straight-up functional.

If you get caught in a rainstorm while traveling, you don’t want to have to worry that your bag is going to soak through and leave you with a sopping wet pile of clothes. The Rains Hilo Weekend Bag uses the same signature PU-coated fabric as their rain jackets, making a waterproof duffel bag that will keep your personal belongings dry in wet weather.

Rains gives this bag a W3 on their “Water Performance Level” rating (their own rating system). Essentially that means it’s designed to stand up to light-to-moderate rain. It’s perfect for getting caught out in a storm, but you definitely wouldn’t want to take it on a rafting trip or leave it out all day in a monsoon.

Beyond the waterproof performance, the design is very simple. There are no exterior pockets, extra zippers, or random features to get in the way. Just one big main compartment, a carry handle, and a removable shoulder strap. Really, I wish they had added at least one external zippered pocket for things you want quick access to.

If you like lots of features, this isn’t the bag for you. There’s definitely something appealing about it’s simplicity though.

Buy it if you…

  • Waterproof protection from rain and snow
  • Sleek, stylish look
  • Simple, easy-to-pack design
  • Durable materials
  • One of the lightest bags on this list
Don’t buy it if you…

  • No pockets or organization features
  • The adjustable shoulder strap doesn’t offer much padding

12

Everlane Renew WeekenderEverlane Renew Weekender

The Everlane ReNew Transit Weekender is perfect for city traveling, as it’s small enough to navigate the busy subway and light enough to sling over your shoulder as you walk down the street. This intelligently-designed minimalist travel bag comes with two top straps to grab and go and a longer shoulder sling.

The bag’s main pocket is roomy and zippered, and there are two exterior pockets, one with a zipper and one without. The zipper pocket also doubles as a luggage handle pass-through when fully unzipped!

The interior features a protective laptop sleeve, two water bottle holders, and a spacious main compartment.

This bag comes in four sleek neutral colors—its exterior is 100% recycled polyester with a water-resistant finish. It’s super lightweight, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t durable! If you want to keep it simple and classy, this is the duffel.

Buy it if you…

  • This duffel bag is one of the most affordable on this list!
  • Great for balancing style and functionality
  • Multiple ways to carry: in hand, cross-body, or over the shoulder.
Don’t buy it if you…

  • Lacking in interior organization—could use smaller pockets.
  • I’d prefer more comfortable shoulder straps

13

MAHI Classic DuffelMAHI Classic Duffel

MAHI started as a premium leatherworking factory in India in the 1800’s. They employ expert craftspeople and emphasize durability and quality in everything they make. Not to mention their products look amazing.

While not everyone will be interested in a leather duffel, for anyone who loves the timeless style and craftsmanship of well-made leather products, the MAHI Classic Duffel is a great choice. No, it doesn’t have the high-tech materials and nifty features of many other duffel bags, but it’s well-made and looks great.

The biggest advantage of this duffel is that the high-quality leather used means it will last a long time. You could easily be handing this down to your grandkids. Of course, leather does require a bit more care than synthetic materials (I recommend using Nikwax Leather Restorer).

My biggest complaint is that it doesn’t open very wide, which can make it a bit harder to pack if you’re stuffing it to the brim.

Buy it if you…

  • Timeless genuine leather style
  • Durable materials and construction that will last a lifetime
  • Amazing value for the price you pay
  • External pocket is great for quick-access items
Don’t buy it if you…

  • Smaller main opening zipper
  • Shoulder strap isn’t very comfy

14

Langly Weekender Duffel BagLangly Weekender Duffel Bag

If you’re a professional or amatuer photographer who carries a lot of camera gear on your trips, you need a duffel that is up to the task. That means lots of structure and padding to keep your expensive equipment safe from harm.

The Langly Weekender Duffel Bag is designed specifically for traveling photographers. It’s got plenty of space for hauling around camera gear, and it’s built with protection in mind.

This bag starts with a sturdy base that’s 9mm thick. It’s made of a combination of HDPE board and EVA foam. This creates a very structured foundation that’s easy to pack on, and it ensures all your gear is protected from impacts. This bag feels very sturdy.

The main material is a heavy-duty rugged twill fabric that is water-resistant and tough. It also looks great.

My biggest gripe is that there is no built-in camera organization. You’ll have to opt for a separate camera cube to hold your camera and lenses. I highly recommend the Peak Design Camera Cube.

Buy it if you…

  • Burly materials and construction
  • Padded sides and rigid base for extra protection
  • Classic styling
Don’t buy it if you…

  • Doesn’t include a camera cube

15

Thule Subterra Duffel Bag 45LThule Subterra Duffel Bag 45L

The Thule Subterra Duffel bag has a simple design with an almost geometric shape. Its slim profile is accentuated by the lack of external handles or attachment points. Corner flaps fold up and down so you can decide how you carry it, as a tote-style duffel bag or sleek duffel.

Thick, magnetic handles in the middle help to keep this pack balanced as you carry it through the airport. The extra-padded shoulder strap is comfortable to carry, and straps cinch down the bag, so you can pack extra gear while keeping the duffel carry-on compliant.

It comes in three colors: dark shadow, ember, and mineral. They’re neutral enough to be professional, but the geometric design also makes the Thule Subterra one of the most unique bags on this list.

Buy it if you…

  • Sleek and modern design
  • Great structure and padding
  • Internal mesh pocket for organization
Don’t buy it if you…

  • Magnetic handle feature doesn’t work well
  • Not very water-resistant

16

Osprey Transporter Duffel 40Osprey Transporter Duffel 40

Osprey’s Transporter Duffel 40 is the ideal pack for adventurers who need a pack as rugged and tough as they are, especially in those wetter climates.

Osprey hails this pack as great for short gear-intensive trips. It is built from recycled polyester with dual-sided TPU coating inside and out, sturdy hardware, overlapping zipper, and a DWR coating that protects your gear from the elements.

The main compartment features a YKK zipper with an overlapping rain flap for extra protection against weather. The pack can carry up to 40L, which is the perfect weekender size to fit all your gear and be able to carry onto an airplane.

A deployable harness with a sternum strap allows you to backpack carry when desired and offers a sleek, classic duffel carry design when tucked away.

Buy it if you…

  • Extremely durable and weather-resistant.
  • The main compartment is large and zippered.
  • Comfortable backpack straps
Don’t buy it if you…

  • A heavier option die to the durable materials.

17

Monarc Settra: Most Eco-Friendly Duffel Bag

Monarc Settra DuffelMonarc Settra Duffel

Monarc is a new brand on the block, and they’ve taken a unique approach by building their entire brand around reducing plastic waste. In fact, they are certified plastic-negative, which means they remove more plastic from the environment than they use in their products.

The Monarc Settra Duffel Backpack is made using ocean-bound plastic, and Monarc is clearly proud of that. The main zipper has a lanyard proudly proclaiming that it’s “made with 50 recycled plastic bottles.” With this bag, you’ll be making a statement that sustainability matters to you.

It’s not just about sustainability, though. This duffel bag is also really well-built and well-thought-out. The materials feel very burly and tough. I haven’t put it through long-term use yet, but it definitely feels like it will last a long time. The tradeoff is that it’s heavy; at almost 5 lbs it’s one of the heaviest on this list.

My favorite feature is that the Monarc Settra can convert into a backpack for longer carries. It has nicely padded shoulder straps and even a hip belt, which isn’t common. I’ve been impressed with the comfort and load-carrying ability in backpack mode. Is it as good as a dedicated backpack? No. But it works really well for what it is. The backpack straps also stash away neatly when not in use.

Finally, this duffel is absolutely packed with features and pockets. There’s a removable shoe pocket, stash pockets inside and out, a long admin-type pocket on the side, a deep pocket for water bottles, and a padded laptop sleeve that fits up to 17-inch devices. Honestly, I think there are too many pockets—more than I’d ever use, anyway.

It’s probably a bit overkill for many people, but the Monarc Settra Duffel Backpack is awesome if you want a solid duffel bag while also doing good for the planet.

What is a Carry-On Duffel Bag?

Duffel bags are simple, soft-sided packs that maximize useable space by keeping design features to a minimum. Depending on their size and build, they make great weekend or carry on duffel bags or extended travel packs for a variety of terrain.

Duffle bags come in multiple forms. There’s no such thing as a traditional duffel bag anymore. Some are waterproof, while others double as travel backpacks. Some are made of leather (or leather accents), or heavy-duty nylon, or cotton. Some are sleek city companions, while others are built for carrying your climbing gear around rugged mountain environments.

As travelers realize the joy of traveling without checked luggage, companies are beginning to make duffel bags that are intentionally carry-on friendly.

Major airlines generally allow carry-ons to be  22 x 14 x 9 inches, while budget airlines have a restriction of 22 x 16 x 8 inches. However, each airline has its own carry-on size restrictions, so check before you go! Generally, most 40L or 45L duffel bags will fall within these airline regulations.

The Ultimate Question: Duffel Bag vs. Suitcase?

Duffels aren’t inherently better than suitcases, but they are often more versatile. They offer ease of travel as you hop from train to plane to bus. They can be carried in a variety of ways, picked up and heaved into the back of a car, and then thrown over your shoulder as you rush to catch your flight.

You can avoid the hassle of roller wheels when you’re walking on cobblestone streets in Europe or across snowy trails on your next ski trip. They are often more waterproof and tougher than their suitcase counterparts, so they’re better suited for more adventurous travels. Additionally, the soft exterior shell makes these bags perfect for bulky or oddly-shaped items that may not fit in hard-shelled rolling luggage.

However, duffel bags aren’t known for being exceptionally comfortable or secure. But they have come a long way in the last few years, and many of the models offer the same secure storage features as suitcases. Also, companies have been paying more attention to the carrying comfort of these bags, and many now incorporate backpack straps or well-padded straps. for your shoulders.

Also, these bags are remarkably simple. We love them for their lightweight nature, versatility, and ease of transport.

What Makes A Carry-On Duffel Great?

So now we know which luggage items are on the radar, but what features truly set the best duffel bags apart from the rest? Well, let’s dive in and take a look at some of the most essential buying considerations for when you want to travel the world with a carry-on only.

Durability

Your travels may take you from the airport to public transit to your hostel and any number of places where your duffel bag could be scuffed, scratched, or damaged. Durability is important! Keep a sharp eye out for sturdy materials like double ripstop nylon, leather, and tarpaulin.

Also, remember that the ‘D’ for material thicknesses (such as 400D) stands for Denier), and the higher that number, the thicker and more robust your material.

Packability

Carry-on duffels should have a less rigid construction. Bulky or oddly-shaped parcels slide right in while the duffel bag itself is easy to heave, shove, squeeze, or pack into just about any space imaginable – including overhead compartments on airlines. So don’t underestimate the importance of less-rigid sides, and look twice at hybrid items that try to incorporate rigid sides into what’s marketed as a duffel.

Organization

Luggage is built on organization, but many duffels shine by not overcomplicating the process. We love quick access to one large packing space without being overwhelmed by a plethora of pockets, mesh, and zipper that could just as easily hinder a search for a particular item. That said, several of the ultimate duffel bags will include a handy shoe compartment or a laptop pocket. Keep an eye out for these organizational aids, and consider your personal travel preferences when you begin your search for new travel luggage.

Weatherproofing

Don’t let nasty weather ruin your clothing and travel gear! The best duffel will incorporate at least some level of weatherproofing to help protect your gear, including reinforced seams. This may be a basic Durable Water Repellent (DWR) finish or a Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU) coating. To make the leap from water-resistant to waterproof, keep an eye open for leather and tarpaulin on the material list as both of these are both rugged and waterproof.

There you have it! We’ve covered the very best carry-on duffel bags for travel along with essential buying advice. From classic city jaunts to rugged adventure-ready luggage, we have you covered. So go ahead, take your carry-on bag pick, and travel like a champ.
