Sister Wives: Kody Brown Compares Robyn Brown to What?

Kody Brown said he is tired of defending his love for Robyn Brown on the Sister Wives Season 19 Tell-All. He seems to try to normalize loving Robyn more than the other wives for the Tell-All interviewer, Sukanya Krishnan.

A very angry Kody says to Suki, “You find higher love, and then everybody just slaps you down for it?” Then he goes a little further and says, “I’ll tell you what. There’s a divine aspect about my relationship with Robyn, and we have been bitch-slapped for it.”

Suki asks Kody if polygamy includes loving each wife equally. But the Sister Wives celebrity goes off on her, saying, “Try that, try that.” In other words, he suggests that Suki try to love two partners equally. Apparently, Kody doesn’t think it is possible.

Kody Favors Certain Kids and Friends?

Kody originally led Sister Wives fans to believe that he loved each wife equally. Then in the last few seasons, he confesses to loving only Robyn.

So, a very irritated Kody Brown now cuts it down the middle. His new message seems to be that while he loved his other wives, he loved Robyn the most. Not only does he put Robyn coming to him as a “divine” aspect of his life, but he also compares loving Robyn to other scenarios fans can equate to in their lives.

He starts making comparisons to having children and friends and how each one stands out a little more than the others for different things. Apparently, kids and friends, much like his wives, stand out for their different traits.

But with Robyn, he loved her more because that is where his heart led him. And that seems okay with Kody, coming from his take on polygamy. He said he found “higher love” with Robyn… but then compares this love to being a salesman.

Sister Wives: Murder a Salesman?

Kody really is fit to be tied during this season’s Sister Wives Tell-All. He is trying to make a point through his growing anger and then comes out with something bizarre.

It is so off-the-wall that people can’t make the connection Kody is trying to make. Getting back to finding a “higher love” with Robyn… he says there’s always going to be a better salesman than him. Now that’s a jump…

But he continues and asks if this means, “I am supposed to go murder that better salesman because he is getting all the deals?”

Fans wonder if he refers to Robyn as the better salesman in this Sister Wives scenario he spins. And where does murder come in? Well, Suki couldn’t get a word in through Kody’s rapid and loud speech.

But one thing the fans took away from this clip… Kody is very angry, and it sounds like this is still due to the world’s outlook on Robyn.

Sister Wives star Kody Brown is the first to admit that his views on men vs. women might not be the most popular during his Special Forces stint.

After becoming a household name from his hit TLC series, Kody branched out by signing on as a recruit for season 4 of Fox’s Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test. There’s now an even larger audience that will be introduced to Kody — who got his reality TV start documenting life as a Mormon and later a polygamist.

Kody has been spiritually married to wife Robyn Brown since 2010. At the time, Kody was already married to Meri Brown, Janelle Brown and Christine Brown. He and Robyn legally wed in December 2014, and he adopted her three children from a prior marriage. (The couple share two children of their own, Solomon, 13, and Ariella, 9.)

Kody’s first three marriages didn’t last and he is now only still together with Robyn. Christine, 53, announced their split in November 2021, followed by Janelle, 56, who revealed in December 2022 that she and Kody had separated. Meri, 54, confirmed her split from Kody in January 2023.

Despite the changes in his personal life, Kody was grateful that Robyn supported him on his Special Forces endeavor, which has already had Us invested in just how far reality stars such as Kody are willing to push themselves.

“When they called me about Special Forces, I’m telling my wife, and she’s like, ‘We’re going to have to discuss this.’ One month went by, another month, we never discussed it,” he recalled exclusively to Us Weekly in September. “[I’m like], ‘We’re not going to discuss it, are we?’ She says, ‘I know you’re going to do it. There’s no way I can stop you.’”

Kody added: “Maybe going was stupid, but it’s the kind of challenge that you almost relish. It’s like, in my age, the idea of having a purpose to get into the kind of shape you need to be for this was just marvelous. It was almost spiritual.”

After the experience, Robyn said she wanted to watch her husband on screen. “We don’t want to watch each other on television [but] she wants to watch me on Special Forces,” he continued.

Kody’s attempt to test his strength as a man has also inspired some surprising sayings.

“I am going to say this at the risk of sounding sexist,” he said in a September 2025 confessional. “I think men want to be respected and women want to be loved. I don’t care if you love me, but I care if you respect me.”

‘Sister Wives’ has turned into a ruthless case study on why polygamy doesn’t work in today’s cultural landscape. After premiering in 2010, as a rare example of the foundation and structure of a family thriving to live within the confines of polygamy in a world that didn’t always understand the concept, the entire mission of the show has failed miserably. Kody Brown, a man living with three women and 18 children, was a curious outlier for some and aspirational for others, presenting a lifestyle that most reality fans were clueless about. Sister Wives immediately became a hit, with fans tuning in to observe the dynamics of a polygamist family with wives working together to provide a cohesive life for themselves and their children.

Initially, Kody appeared to be a man with the world at his fingertips, married to three submissive women dedicated completely to him. Somewhere over the last fifteen years, Kody lost the respect of his women and children, resulting in him losing his perceived control over his home. He brought a fourth wife, Robyn, and her three children into the fold and that move proved to be the shift in the dynamic that caused the bottom to fall out. As the wives left one by one, Kody’s control and confidence left with them, leaving him currently desperately clutching his remaining wife and attempting to be her everything.

Parade Magazine focused on Janelle recent one-on-one session with host Sukanya Krishnan, to talk about her feelings about Kody’s recent behavior towards her and the other wives. “I’ve never seen him be this mean before,” Janelle explained. “I feel like a lot of people want to pin the blame on Robyn. I don’t think she is necessarily innocent in this. It takes two. I think in a lot of ways he’s even more villainous, I guess, to kind of take away some of the blame from her.” Janelle’s perspective on her ex-husband’s actions being a response to his need to protect his current and only wife, proves her maturity. Where many women would look for an opportunity to blame the woman in the situation, Janelle offers Robyn grace and, although she acknowledges Robyn isn’t blameless in the situation, she holds Kody responsible for his actions, even if they are an attempt to shield his wife from any blame.

Kody proved Janelle’s theory correct during a conversation with Robyn as the two prepared to film their individual one-on-one sessions. Kody asked Robyn how she felt about heading to the one-on-one sessions, and she said she’d rather have a root canal at the dentist’s office than go through the interviews. Robyn’s downcast eyes and defeated shoulders as she got into the passenger seat to head to set spoke volumes about her mood. Kody took in her depressed posture and attempted to lift her confidence. “Is there anything I can do to protect you from this?” he asked. Robyn responded without hesitation. “No, God will protect me,” she replied. Kody’s face fell as he realized that not even the wife by his side trusts his protection or his ability to fix things for her. The scene with Kody and Robyn gives context to his repeated behavior of late and proves Janelle’s point. Most of Kody’s grandstanding against his ex-wives and even his children is an attempt to regain Robyn’s trust in him, therefore restoring his confidence in himself. Fans have criticized the ultimatum Kody has given his children, stating if they don’t accept and embrace Robyn, they can’t have a relationship with him. He has also received backlash for his gratuitous comments on how physically attracted he is to Robyn, when he never made those types of comments about his previous wives.

In one scene, Kody suggested Robyn looked “delicious” and made a slurping sound, suggesting his physical reaction to her looks. Besides his comments being in extremely poor taste and somewhat out of character, fans of the show assume they are fueled by Kody’s need to constantly affirm Robyn so that she doesn’t take a page out of the other women’s books and leave him too.

Janelle’s intuition about her ex-husband appears to be spot on as the series has gone from a huge thriving family to a battlefield consisting of the three ex-wives and their children versus Kody, Robyn and her children. There doesn’t seem to be any boundaries to the extent Kody will go to in an effort to hold on to Robyn’s love and loyalty, even if it means completely alienating his former family. “I’ve never seen him this mean. All the rewriting of history, trying to hurt people,” Janelle repeated. “I feel like it’s a smokescreen.”

If Kody is attempting to champion and protect Robyn at the expense of his past, chances are he is going to end up eventually losing her. If that happens, he’ll be forced to deal with himself and finally acknowledge the many mistakes he made in showing up for his former wives and his children. For anyone considering a polygamist lifestyle similar to the one Kody has become famous for, his story should play out like a cautionary tale. All that glitters is definitely not gold and just because a man has multiple wives under his thumb doesn’t mean he can keep them there forever.
