A lightweight, bouncy jelly that glides on smoothly and lets you go about your day hassle-free? I had to see what all the fuss was about and test it out for myself. About My Skin: I have fair skin and wear a lot of sunscreen

As a fair-skinned redhead, I avoid the sun as much as possible and lather on sunscreen for my daily walks. I self-tan at least once a week during the summer months, exfoliate daily, and apply nourishing oil all over my body after showering, as I tend to get dry if I don’t stay on top of that.

How to Apply: Use a self-tanning mitt

I tried applying this tanning jelly a few different ways. I used both my bare hands and gloves, but a mitt was the standout in the application process, making things much easier. Before applying, you’ll want to shave and exfoliate your skin, and follow up with a light lotion or oil if you tend to get dry, as this will help keep the product from clinging to any dry patches. The instructions mention applying the jelly to dry skin. I found that using it after applying oil and lotion was fine and did not interfere with my results.

I dispensed the jelly into the mitt and then applied it all over my body, rubbing it in as I went and ensuring every area was covered. This jelly doesn’t have a lasting tint like some self-tanners, so you need to work quickly. The more you blend it in a circular motion, the better your results will be. The jelly starts lilac in color and dries clear, absorbing quickly, so you can layer it if you want a deeper-looking tan. I also applied it multiple days in a row to deepen my color results and found that to be an easy way to build color gradually. Whether you use a mitt or anything else, be sure to wash your hands well with soap and water after every single application. 

The Results: A stress-free, natural-looking tan

I was genuinely shocked by the results of using this product, as I was on the fence about whether or not it would hold up to its claims. Having been disappointed by other self-tanners in the past, which left me orange and sticky, Luna Bronze Self Tanning Jelly delivered results beyond my expectations. The formula absorbs quickly, has a pleasant light scent, and doesn’t transfer or streak.

Within a few hours, you’ll start to see the color develop. I wore it outside running errands and completely forgot I had it on, and slept in it overnight, waking up to no transfer on my bedsheets or clothes. After mastering the application process and discovering that there’s no such thing as blending too much, I fell in love with the way my skin looked and felt after using this product. 

Like most self-tanners, it’s best to hydrate your skin with cream, oil, or lotion daily to preserve the color and extend your results. I found that this product naturally faded within one week, without looking patchy or scaly, unlike some tanners that can develop these issues as they fade. Overall, my tan looked natural, and people complimented both the color and the glow this tanning jelly gave me.

The ease of application and zero transfer alone make this product worth the coin. Unlike other self-tanners that keep you indoors all day and are prone to streaking or transferring, this juicy jelly lets you avoid all those issues.
