Dunk’s always look best with a simplistic design, and it doesn’t get much simpler than this Persian Violet and Off Noir variation. The sneaker sports a suede upper with black and purple panels with a cinnamon-colored swoosh, laces, and branding over a gum sole.

There isn’t anything particularly flashy or exciting about this colorway, but that’s kind of what makes it so effective.

New Balance Amine x New Balance ABZORB 2000 Biblioteca

Price: $179.99

Singer, rapper, and friend of Tyler the Creator and Andre 3000 (we should all be so lucky) Amine, has linked up with New Balance for a bright and vibrant take of the ABZORB 2000 silhouette. The sneaker sports a mesh upper with psychedelic swirling overlays, embroidered details, and glow in the dark details that give this sneaker a sort of surreal and futuristic vibe.

According to Amine, the sneaker’s colorway is inspired by his local library growing up in Portland Oregon.

Nike Air Force 1 07 Mid Flax and Outdoor Green

There is something incredibly ‘90s streetwear about this monochromatic take on the AF-1. The sneaker sports a mid-top silhouette with a nubuck leather upper in Nike’s Flax colorway with a tiny hint of forest green on the tongue, heel branding, and strap Swoosh.

The sneaker looks straight out of a vintage rap video, and we’re fully on board.

Nike Ja 3 White and Coconut Milk

Price: $125

The Ja 3 is here! Ja Morant’s latest from Nike features the brand’s ZoomX foam for added bounce and energy return with a lightweight upper for fast court play. Our favorite detail is the jagged Ja logos adding a tactile feel across the sneaker and extending to the shoe’s outsole.

The left shoe’s Swoosh features a diving motif that adds a nice visual flair to the otherwise simple design. It looks futuristic, like a new signature basketball sneaker in 2025 should.

Adidas TaeKwondo MEI SFTM Cream White/Core Black

Price: $130

With the renewed popularity of ballerina flats in women’s fashion, it makes sense that Adidas would want to get in on that action without, you know, actually designing a new silhouette. Enter the Taekwondo, originally released in the early 2000s (based on a 1988 Olympics design) this sneaker features a leather upper with synthetic lining and an ultra low-profile silhouette and a partially uncovered outsole.

It’s a unique look but if you’ve got style, this can look fantastic.

Nike Air Max 95 Medium Ash and Solar Red

For some sneakerheads out there, this week is the single best week in all of 2025 and that’s because of the Medium Ash and Solar Red Air Max 95. Released to celebrate 30 years of the AM 95, this sneaker sports a synthetic leather upper with mesh details and a black to ash gradient design. Rounding out the look is that classic Big Bubble Airbag, which, let’s face it, is way cooler than the standard Air Max bubble.

While the Air Max 95 Medium Ash and Solar Red is the most hyped drops for hardcore sneakerheads who are into a specific niche, if we’re talking about the most hyped release of the week for the general public, that honor no doubt goes to the Jordan 5 Medium Soft Pink.

A seemingly simple design, this Jordan 5 actually has a reflective coating over its leather upper which creates an ethereal glow. Reflective coating aside, this sneaker sports a nice cream upper with a black midsole and pink and metallic silver accents.

Well, here we are — the last full month of summer is officially over, the back-to-school sales have begun, and before we know it, we’ll be in the final stretch of 2025’s sneaker season. If you’ve been following this weekly series all year, you’re well aware that 2025 hasn’t been our favorite year due to the lack of drops compared to the last five years.

But we normally narrow our best sneakers end-of-year lists to just 20 entries, so when comparing this year to others, the lack of sneaker drops this year isn’t going to be as apparent. Are we going to care that 2025 wasn’t as eventful as other years when we’re in 2026? Probably not, but we’re still hoping the end of the year will bring some surprises to the table.

We aren’t happy we’re closing the book on August with just seven notable drops, but what is here is capable of being anybody’s favorite release of the summer! Let’s dive into the best sneakers out right now.

New Balance Made in USA 992 Dark Camo

We’re still in the doldrums of summer, but we’re starting to get a little hint of the fall season. Case in point, this latest from New Balance, which combines dark forest green tones for an earthy take on the 992. The sneaker features a pig suede and mesh upper with synthetic overlays, reflective accents, and a combination ENCAP and C-Cap midsole.

Brain Dead x Adidas Japan Lo Shadow Brown

Price: $140

Made in collaboration with the LA-based street and skatewear brand, Brain Dead, this sneaker features a leather and textile upper with a faux furry-suede flame graphic at the forefoot, distressed laces, graphic insoles, and co-branding. Our favorite detail of the shoe is the way subtle hints of forest green outline the brown and yellow colorway.

Cav Empt x Nike Air Max Dn8 Pure Platinum

Nike has teamed up with the Tokyo-based streetwear brand, Cav Empt, for an outdoorsy take on the new Air Max Dn8. What we love about this collaboration is that the Dn8 is by all accounts, a very futuristic looking shoe, but Cav Empt has brought the design down to Earth by dipping it in a gorp-core aesthetic that reinterprets the design as a utilitarian sneaker.

The sneaker sports a digital camo print with a chilly arctic sheen, embroidered tongue branding, and a bright green and black co-branding on the tongue.

Nike KD 18 Soft Pearl and Light Iron Ore

Price: $155

Kevin Durant’s latest from Nike is here! The KD 18 Soft Pearl and Light Iron Ore sports a textile upper adorned with suede and a mix of gray tones accented by bright eye-catching orange highlights. The KD18 features an ultra-lightweight build, offering quick play and enhanced breathability. It’s hands down one of the best KD’s to drop ever! A future collector’s item.

Women’s Air Jordan 5 Luminous Green and Sail

The best Jordans to drop all year have been women’s size exclusives. After decades of ignoring its women’s line, over the last few years Nike has been playing catch up delivering some of the best looks and colorways for small-footed sneaker heads, and quite frankly, we’re totally here for it. The AJ-5 Luminous Green and sail sports a leather upper in egg-shell white with muted yellow-green accents, a black midsole, and an icy outsole.

It’s minimal, sure, but the best Jordans often are!

Teaming up with skatewear brand Awake NY, this Air Jordan 5 feels tailor-made for New Yorkers. The sneaker sports a deep black leather upper with a speckled sharktooth midsole detail, translucent vents, and Awake’s signature “A” logo cut into the side panel. This sneaker is an exercise in the power of smart color combinations — the way the black, rich blue, and icy outsole combine make this pair a real treat for the eyes.

Nike Air Tech Challenge 2 White and Laser Crimson

Price: $155

A ‘90s tennis classic returns! The Air Tech Challenge 2 features a mixed real and synthetic leather upper, with a padded foam collar for extra support, retro checked detailing, and a mix of clean white and bright and bold accents over a Max Air unit.

To our eyes, the sneaker looks far more ‘80s influenced, and doesn’t exactly scream ‘90s, but the advanced tech is there. So if you like classic designs but don’t like the lack of comfort and support they provide, this might be the sneaker for you.
