woman shares why she got fired (l) texas roadhouse entrance (r)

A server at Texas Roadhouse just got fired. The reason why? She kept posting on her social media account, which led to ongoing tension and hostility throughout her workplace. Eventually, she snapped at a co-worker, quickly leading her out the door despite her dedication to the restaurant.

In a video with over 1.7 million views, Brittany (@brittanyspurlock627) explained how she was recently forced out of her workplace—where she was a server for almost eight years—due to her social media presence and a few hostile comments from co-workers. She and her spouse, Brett, worked at the same Texas Roadhouse. For a while, they made positive content showcasing the restaurant. They followed “all of the rules and guidelines” the company established.

Then, she started getting pulled into the office for different posts she was making.

Management starts to have issues

It started off with food posts. Her management let her know that she wasn’t supposed to show steaks, salads, or appetizers on her personal account. Then, she was brought into the office and told she couldn’t showcase any alcoholic beverages on her account. She complied, limiting her content further.

Although she and her husband were some of the company’s strongest workers, she said she started to get called out for “little things.” She would answer a TikTok comment and offer advice on beer picks. However, she got told she was trying to “sell company recipes.”

“I showed a beer menu and I got in trouble because they were accusing me of trying to share recipes, which was not the case at all. I was just showing draft [beers],” she said.

She also would post about internal issues with the company, something management quickly tried to control. When other servers got four sections at a time, she would point it out in her comments section.

Brittany stops filming altogether—but she’s still in trouble

Eventually, she felt so deeply uncomfortable that she decided to only film off the clock. “And then it got to the point where I was trying to stop the social media altogether,” she said. “No more filming on the clock, no more at work. Only before and after our shifts, mainly in our vehicle. And that was still an issue.”

She would go to work feeling paranoid. “ I would still go to work [and] not even touch my phone. I was being watched like a hawk to the point where I was even having photos taken of me. [Those photos were] being sent to my boss,” she added.

She noticed other employees were allowed to use their phones during “legendary hours.” These were times when Texas Roadhouse required its employees to focus on their guests and keep screens away.

It all chipped away at her, but it got worse when the company monitored her posts further.

Brittany continues to get berated for making TikToks

Brittany made a post on her platform about a cash tip she had lost while working one night. That’s because another table grabbed her tip before she could actually get it.

News outlets such as The Mary Sue ended up covering the story, popularizing it enough for Texas Roadhouse’s upper management to become aware of it. Around “three or four” different publications shared the incident within a matter of days, according to Brittany. Instead of siding with their own staff member and looking into the incident, however, Texas Roadhouse spoke with her about it.

“I  was fully aware that I was getting in trouble for talking about the guests, but I wasn’t trying to necessarily talk about the guests,” Brittany said.

The 18-dollar tip that Brittany received meant a lot to her, she said. This was because she only had a few tables that day. It was a slow day with few to no tables.

Halloween: the breaking point

Then came Halloween. Brittany asked for permission to film all of the Texas Roadhouse staff in their Halloween costumes, an idea that management approved. One of the staff members, with whom she had multiple tense run-ins, ended up reporting her to upper management. This is despite her explicitly asking to take the video beforehand.

“ This was also the same person that was taking photos of me and trying to send them to my boss. [She was] trying to get me in trouble. So at this point, I’ve had a lot of frustration built up toward her,” Brittany said.

Brittany asked the other employee whether she had reported her to her boss, and the other employee “flat out lied.” She called the other woman, who had been to her birthday parties, personally spent time with her, and was a “friend,” a snitch. The other employee very quickly reported her to management, and management fired Brittany that very same day.

“ My boss asked if I had called her a snitch. I admitted to it, and I was fired right then on the spot. That’s… it. Obviously, calling her out at work was probably not the best case [scenario], but it was before my shift started.”

Brittany cited growing hostility in the workplace as an issue that eventually led her to snap.

“ Over the last few months, it’s just become… so stressful to the point I’ve even come home crying. I’m the type that doesn’t really like crying online or really in front of anyone,” Brittany said. “ I truly love[d] my job… I never [tried] to drag anyone through the mud.”

@brittanyspurlock627 I will miss working with Brett & my coworkers ? Part 2 later today!! I had about 6 higher ups watching my account through secret accounts!! #fired #texasroadhouse #texasroadhouserolls #fyp #husbandwife ♬ original sound – brittanyspurlock627

Brittany’s final update—what now?

In a final update, Brittany let her audience know that her boss had a discussion with her regarding her termination. Ultimately, Brittany vied to get her job back. But unfortunately didn’t receive any updates from the team that she could rejoin the Texas Roadhouse staff.

“ I [got] a text back saying he’s talking to his team and that… he will reach out to me with a date and time of when we can meet,” she said. She ended up taking full accountability for her role in her termination, including some of her TikToks and comments to a fellow employee.

Her boss let her know that he wouldn’t have any problems taking her back. However, some managers didn’t necessarily want her to return. He also let her know that Texas Roadhouse was unlikely to hire her again.

The company then ghosted her, not letting her know anything regarding her employment status despite speaking with her a bit more about the termination. She chose to share her entire story online because “no response is a response.” She was tired of getting in trouble for “every little thing” and feeling unwelcome in her workplace.

Despite all of the trouble, Brittany is looking ahead and hopeful about her future employment. Her TikTok content may change, but she’s hoping her audience will follow along on the next part of her journey.

woman shares airbnb experience (l) airbnb app (r)

A woman thought she booked a spacious Airbnb in Arizona with a pool and five bedrooms. But when she arrived, she found herself standing in front of a camper.

In a viral TikTok video with over 770,600 views, influencer Kayla (@kaylamalecc) shared the moment she stepped out of her car and saw the listing in person for the first time.

“So I just got to my new Airbnb in Arizona before we go back home,” she said. “It was listed five bedrooms. Uh, there was a pool. It was really [expletive] expensive.”

Then the camera zooms out—and reveals a camper behind her.

“I think I got scammed,” she wrote in the caption. “But I love it HAHAHA.”

She Takes Viewers on a ‘House Tour’ of the Camper

In a follow-up post, Kayla decided to make the most of it and filmed a playful tour of the inside, using the viral “Today I’m doing a house tour” sound from creator @richcaroline.

She walked viewers through the camper, pointing out a small kitchen, a few bedrooms (at least three), and a bathroom. While she didn’t mention the pool again, the camper seemed decently outfitted, if clearly not what most people would imagine when they hear “five-bedroom Airbnb.”

Airbnb Requires Listings to Be Accurate, Especially About the Type of Property

While Kayla took the situation with humor, Airbnb’s rules on this sort of listing are clear.

According to the platform’s “Listing Accuracy” policy, hosts must clearly state the type, size, and privacy of the space. If the listing led a guest to believe they were getting a standalone home or apartment, but instead turned out to be a camper, it could be a violation of those rules.

Airbnb recommends reaching out to the host first to clarify or try to solve the issue. If that doesn’t work, guests can then contact Airbnb’s customer service team, who may offer a refund in cases where the listing was misleading.

@kaylamalecc i think i got scammed. but i love it HAHAHA #fyp ♬ original sound – kayla

Viewers urged Kayla to take it up with Airbnb immediately.

“Contact AirBNB!” one person said. “They have super strict policies when it comes to that. You should get a full refund!”

Others responded with regional sarcasm: “Lol welcome to AZ. Half the state is a scam.”

Some questioned her planning. “Y’all don’t check reviews before buying an Airbnb?” one commenter asked.

Woman ‘Falls in love’ with Detergent While Thrifting. woman asks for help finding item (l) pouring detergent into machine (r)

Thrifting is full of hidden gems—the only trouble is that once you find them, you might never see them again. This is why TikToker Taylor (@taylor_k76) has enlisted the help of the internet in helping find the detergent she just can’t stop thinking about.

“I need your help, because there’s a laundry detergent that I cannot find, and I’ve spent so much money on detergents, and it’s not the right one,” she began.

“There’s a detergent that smells so good, but not like too overpowering and but like I can smell it on people’s clothes,” she said. “One time I thrifted something and it smelled so good, even after I washed it, it still smelled like it.”

“One time I bought something from Cashmart, and asked the lady what detergent was because it had that scent, and she told me it was Frey Cedar Grove,” she continued.

However, this wasn’t quite right. Taylor noted that while she had a subscription for this detergent, the smell doesn’t last as long as the other one.

“So please help me,” she concluded. “Because I need it.”

@taylor_k76 #help #laundrydetergent ♬ original sound – Taylor

In the comments, countless users suggested the detergent could be Diva Wash. “My hubby works in law enforcement and def Diva Wash,” one wrote. “Mix it in [with] a non-scented detergent so it’s not too overpowering.”

“Once you go Diva wash you’ll NEVER go back!” a second declared. “I’ve had people randomly ask me, ‘ Do you use Diva laundry detergent?’ Because your clothes will hold that smell. Mix it with unscented detergent to make it stretch further.”

While a third said, “It’s the Diva scent by the Tyler Candle Company! I have it and it’s phenomenal.”

Similarly, a fourth agreed that it “has to be” Diva, as they added that “it’s the only detergent I’ve ever smelt on someone’s clothes.”

Divas has made headlines

The detergent is so popular that it has even found itself in the news.

Describing the scent in a review, HuffPost writer Griffin Wynne said, “You could smell it from the bottle even with the cap closed, and it filled my dark, dingy basement as my clothes were washing.”

They continued, “I’d compare it to a cashmere- or amber-scented candle, woody and inviting, not ‘teen who just got their first bottle of Victoria’s Secret’s Love Spell.””

You can currently buy a 64-ounce bottle of Diva at Walmart for $40.70, down from $59.

Friends celebrate surprise birthday at Costco with pizza http://livelaughlovedo.com/parenting-and-family/friends-celebrate-surprise-birthday-at-costco-with-pizza/ http://livelaughlovedo.com/parenting-and-family/friends-celebrate-surprise-birthday-at-costco-with-pizza/#respond Mon, 08 Sep 2025 12:28:34 +0000 http://livelaughlovedo.com/2025/09/08/friends-celebrate-surprise-birthday-at-costco-with-pizza/ [ad_1]

We all know the pressure of planning an “Instagram-worthy” birthday party: decor, themes, catered food, the works. But sometimes the most joyful celebrations don’t happen in a trendy venue—they happen in the aisles of Costco. (Yes, Costco. Where else can you buy 40 muffins, a kayak, and a diamond ring in one trip?)

That’s exactly what one viral TikTok captures: a group of friends surprising someone for their birthday inside their favorite big-box store. The clip shows hugs, laughter, and pizza by the slice—all in between shopping carts and a warehouse backdrop.

And honestly? It’s perfect.

A party where practicality meets personality

Instead of chandeliers and champagne, this birthday had fluorescent lights and food court sodas—and it just worked. Why? Because the setting wasn’t just practical (groceries + birthday = multitasking win), it was deeply personal.

For the birthday guest of honor, Costco wasn’t just a store; it was a happy place. (“Costco is my sacred place,” creator @khanhlikewhoa jokes in the clip—and honestly, same.) By choosing a setting that reflected her and her husband’s real life, her friends made her husband’s surprise celebration uniquely perfect.

Why Costco feels like the perfect party backdrop

There’s something oddly magical about celebrating in a place woven into your everyday routine. Psychologists say meaningful rituals and spaces often deepen connection—not because they’re fancy, but because they’re familiar. (Translation: Yes, your Target runs and Starbucks orders do count as self-care traditions.)

Add in Costco’s legendary sheet cake, $1.50 hot dog combos, and aisles big enough to fit your entire crew? You’ve got yourself a party venue that’s low-pressure, affordable, and instantly memorable.

The deeper joy: Friendships that show up

Of course, what really makes this video resonate isn’t the setting—it’s the people. In adulthood, especially in the chaos of parenting, friendships can feel like a rare luxury. To see a group of friends coordinate, surprise, and show up—right in the middle of bulk toilet paper and rotisserie chickens—is a reminder of just how precious those bonds are.

Research shows that strong social connections improve both mental and physical health. For parents especially, friendships act as a lifeline—a reminder that you’re more than your to-do list. (And also, who else is going to split the 40-pack of granola bars with you?).

Related: This little boy’s surprise garbage truck birthday parade will warm your heart

Why unconventional parties might just be the best kind

The takeaway? You don’t need a Pinterest-perfect backdrop to celebrate well. Sometimes the most meaningful moments happen in the everyday places where life already unfolds.

So, the next time you’re planning a birthday—whether for your kid, your partner, or yourself—consider this your permission slip to skip the stress. Pick a spot that feels authentic, grab the people who make you laugh, and lean into the joy.

Because at the end of the day, it’s not about the decorations—it’s about the connections. And if you can cross “buy 200 diapers” off your list while eating pizza with your best friends? That’s what we call a parenting win-win.

Did Bloomingdale’s Steal Her Diamonds During Ring Resizing? http://livelaughlovedo.com/culture-and-society/did-bloomingdales-steal-her-diamonds-during-ring-resizing/ http://livelaughlovedo.com/culture-and-society/did-bloomingdales-steal-her-diamonds-during-ring-resizing/#respond Mon, 08 Sep 2025 02:28:23 +0000 http://livelaughlovedo.com/2025/09/08/did-bloomingdales-steal-her-diamonds-during-ring-resizing/ [ad_1]

woman shares her experience with bloomingdale's (l) bloomingdale's building (r)

A Los Angeles woman (@frostedflakescerealmilk) has gone viral after sharing her fraught experience with Bloomingdale’s. She sent a ring to the company to get it resized, but was shocked by the result.

“Bloomingdale stole three diamonds out of my ring, and I need to know how I’m going to fix this,” she began. She then showed people her wraparound ring and compared it to the original design. On her ring, there were fewer diamonds, and the end was more crooked.

“I bought this ring in a size seven, and I gave it back to Bloomingdale’s, where I bought it from, to be sized to a six and a half,” she explained. “When you size a ring, you’re supposed to take it out of the band, right?” She then noted how the ring in the picture is “super smooth, super even, and there are 12 total diamonds.”

“Tell me why, when they sized my ring instead of taking it from the band, somebody took this bypass,” she complained. “I mean, you can see it is [expletive] up. Three diamonds are missing, so I only have nine, and the rest is so uneven.”

The woman then notes that while Bloomingdale’s asked her to bring her ring in, she was unable to as she had an event that day.

“I am afraid if I wait even one more day to take this in, that there’s going to be a problem,” she added. “But, I mean, this is [expletive] up, right? Like, you saw that I paid so much money for this. Instead of 12 on both sides, one side has nine.”

She continued that this was “theft.”

The video amassed 15,900 views. The woman didn’t immediately respond to The Mary Sue’s request for comment via TikTok comment.

In the comments, users shared the woman’s anger. “If they deny it- buy another one and show them the difference,” one suggested. “Oh I’m mad.”

“Wow that is horrible,” another agreed. “Who would do that? They need to give you a new ring. You are not supposed to touch the setting.”

While a third wrote, “I have no idea why they would do that, not saying they didn’t, obviously they did. I just don’t get why? I worked at a private jeweller’s and he had just piles of these tiny diamonds all over the place cuz they aren’t really worth much.”

Meanwhile, a fourth claimed that “jewelers do this more often than you think.”

The woman later updated viewers via TikTok comments, revealing that she had received a refund.

@frostedflakescerealmilk #greenscreen KEEP YOUR RECEIPTS!!! Thankfully I have the purchase receipt and the resizing receipt from when I both dropped it off and picked it up. Paper trail always!!! #diamonds #finejewelry #bloomingdales ♬ original sound – you found me

What else is going on at Bloomingdale’s?

This year, Bloomingdale’s has been the subject of controversy. Back in February, news broke that the store was facing a class-action lawsuit, which alleged that the company had implemented “invasive” technology on its website to extract users’ personal information, and then passed that information over to TikTok. Lawyers from the suit even went as far as saying that Bloomingdale’s had “effectively doxed” these users.

Macy’s didn’t immediately respond to The Mary Sue’s request for comment via TikTok comment.

Why Doesn’t Nothing Bundt Cakes Offer Spoons? http://livelaughlovedo.com/culture-and-society/why-doesnt-nothing-bundt-cakes-offer-spoons/ http://livelaughlovedo.com/culture-and-society/why-doesnt-nothing-bundt-cakes-offer-spoons/#respond Tue, 12 Aug 2025 23:59:01 +0000 http://livelaughlovedo.com/2025/08/13/why-doesnt-nothing-bundt-cakes-offer-spoons/ [ad_1]

Woman wearing glasses shares her experience at Nothing Bundt Cakes (l) the front of a nothing bundt cakes store (r)

We’ve all been there: You stop by a food establishment and pick up a delicious treat that’s too good to wait until you get home to eat. So, you plan to chow down in the car. However, one woman says that if you’re a Nothing Bundt Cakes customer, it may be hard to partake in this time-honored tradition.

In a viral TikTok with 79,600 views, @bren_girly shares her shock at what she was told after requesting a utensil at Nothing Bundt Cakes.

“I was like, ‘Can I have a spoon?’ ‘Cause, you know, I’m gonna eat it in the car,” she says. “And [the worker] was like, ‘We’re not allowed to hand them out. You can buy one for $1.’”

While she admits the cost is low, @bren_girly can’t believe a food establishment can’t just provide her with a utensil. “That doesn’t make sense to me,” she concludes.

‘These companies have lost their minds’

Commenters couldn’t believe the cost.

One pointed out, “ONE DOLLAR! It’s a dollar for a whole box. That’s insane.”

A second questioned, “Crumbl cookie has spoons readily available. Why would the Bundt cake have to charge?”

A few viewers provided a possible explanation. One wrote, “It’s probably due to health code/zoning/taxing. If they provide utensils that changes the classification of the establishment in some areas.”

@bren_girly responded to this comment with a video clarifying some points. First, she notes that it was a pack of spoons, not a single spoon, for $1. However, she doesn’t know how many spoons come in the pack. She didn’t care to ask since she only needed one. She also managed to eat her cake in the car. “It was just a tiny bit messier than usual,” she says.

She wasn’t able to find much information on the tax classification, but we’ve got you covered.

Is there a tax reason Nothing Bundt Cakes doesn’t offer spoons?

In a Reddit thread, a user says that when they asked for cutlery at their local Nothing Bundt Cakes, they were told that since the establishment isn’t a restaurant, it doesn’t have cutlery.

One respondent said, “They told me that if they don’t pass out forks, they aren’t a restaurant and don’t have to charge tax on the cakes.”

That prompted the original poster to respond, “Ok so I’m a tax accountant so that sounded so sus to me but it turns out that in most states there are certain exemptions of charging sales tax if it the food is meant for at-home consumption (not in store). My state is not one of these states but apparently my state does require the retailer to pay an additional sales tax on any non-essential items provided to a customer for the purpose of consuming the item sold (plastic cutlery). That’s why they don’t have it, thanks yall for helping me solve this mystery.”

Another user added, “*at least in ohio* we are allowed to hand out forks now as of this week. But, because we are a RETAIL bakery and not a restaurant, we were not allowed to just give out silverware. A lot of employees dont really understand this and dont have a great way of explaining to customers why we cannot give them, but I always tried to fully explain. Sorry she didnt actually explain and im also super late haha this is health code things :/“

Is there a way to get a free spoon at Nothing Bundt Cakes?

Another customer went viral in 2024 for their discovery that their Nothing Bundt Cakes charges for spoons. Based on user responses, whether it’s possible to get a free spoon depends on location. Some said the $5 price of their Bundtlet comes with a spoon at their location. Others said their local stores don’t have spoons at all.

What if my store charges for spoons and I really want to eat in the car but don’t want to pay for one?

As respondents in the aforementioned Reddit thread noted, you could order the brand’s Bundtinis, which can be eaten with your hand. You could also stop by another establishment and pick up a spoon or you can bring your own spoon.

@bren_girly I really don’t understand why they wouldn’t just give spoons? #nothingbundtcake #cakeconspiracy ♬ original sound – bren_girly

“Never order anything from Edible Arrangements.”

An Edible Arrangements customer had a nightmare experience trying to get a refund after his birthday fruit bouquet never arrived. The TikToker says the customer service line forwarded him to a store that no longer exists and presented evidence that the company blocked him for complaining.

Featured Video

It took thousands of other people dragging Edible Arrangements in their TikTok comments to get that money back.

Edible frustrations

On July 8, TikToker @timmyinthewild shared his saga in which he attempted to get a refund for an edible arrangement that never arrived. His partner ordered the $80 bouquet for his birthday more than a month in advance, but didn’t materialize on the day of.

Timmy filled out an online contact form on the company website but never heard back. He tried to call the store the arrangement was supposed to come from, but it closed some time ago. He then called a different store, they told him to call customer service, but that line sent him back to the dead shop.

@timmyinthewild I can’t tag them anymore because they blocked me – but Edible Arrangements…. count your days! #fyp #birthday #ediblearrangements #corporate #phoenix ♬ original sound – timmyinthewild

Running out of options, Timmy sent a DM to the Edible Arrangements TikTok account. He said they “immediately” blocked him and displayed the screenshot to prove it.

“So this is a word of advice,” he concluded. “If you ever consider ordering anything for somebody as a gift, never ever use Edible Arrangements.”

Timmy normally doesn’t break 10,000 views with his videos, but this one got over 2.2 million. TikTokers outraged on his behalf flooded Edible Arrangements’ page with hate, and hours later, Timmy posted an update saying they unblocked him and began the refund process.

@timmyinthewild Replying to @ellocin THANK YOU! To all those who helped me reach them and for the hundreds of comments calling them out! #fyp #birthday #ediblearrangements #corporate #phoenix #food ♬ original sound – timmyinthewild

Because he found their response so canned and the process so infuriating, he still does not recommend the company.

“I truly, truly hope that this was the sign that you needed to never order anything from Edible Arrangements,” he said.

“Their manager was embezzling”

Part of the reason other TikTokers supported Timmy so strongly is because a lot of them also hate Edible Arrangements. A shocking number of comments told tales of the company’s failures and shenanigans.

TikTok comment reading 'I HAVE BUILT MY FYP PAGE BRICK BY BRICK!!! I am the #1 edible arrangements hater. Years ago, this same kind of bullshit happened to me for my mom’s birthday. I will never pass an edible arrangements store without flipping it off in my car.'
@timmyinthewild/TikTok

“I am the #1 edible arrangements hater,” said @user7564997776718. “Years ago, this same kind of bullshit happened to me for my mom’s birthday. I will never pass an edible arrangements store without flipping it off in my car.”

“I ordered an arrangement and it never came, went to the physical store and the windows were boarded up,” wrote @giavonaa.

The stories from those who used to work for Edlible Arrangements were even worse.

“I have found my people,” said @yapperdahn. “I use to manage an edible arrangements. Their manager was embezzling $ & blamed me & tried to get me arrested while I was 18, new & 8 months pregnant.”

Although Timmy got his money back, the legacy of his battle with the company remains in their TikTok comments. On one video talking about a foodie “pet peeves,” TikToker @caseyaddair wrote, “my pet peeve is companies ignoring their paying customers.”

Frontier Flight attendant talking to passenger(l) Frontier Airlines Plane(r)

A contentious exchange regarding a passenger’s attire on a Frontier Airlines flight has some calling the flight attendant “drunk” for how she spoke.

In a viral TikTok posted by Nereidaa (@a90sbabygirl), a flight attendant named Katie begins by saying, “I’m not even gonna tolerate that because I don’t racially profile at all.” While The Mary Sue cannot verify whether she was intoxicated, her pronunciation of the word “tolerate” may have sounded like slurred speech to commenters.

The passenger filming says she will not tolerate the situation either because the flight attendant is asking her to change clothes, but not asking two other passengers, “who are wearing less clothes than me.”

What’s wrong with her clothes?

Nereidaa then says she looked up the airline’s policy, and it states that passengers cannot wear see-through clothes. “Your pants are see-through,” Katie says, which Nereidaa denies. She then shows her stretchy pink shorts on camera. They appear opaque from the angle. “I’m sorry. I do not see the skin of my color between my pants,” the passenger says.

Nereidaa says she is reporting Katie, to which the flight attendant replies, “I don’t care.” She insists she is just doing her job as she uses the telecom to phone someone else on the plane.

“Hey, I’m like being harassed in the back. Like, extremely,” Katie says when someone picks up. “OK. Um, her camera is less than a foot from my face.”

At this point, Nereidaa steps back, and Katie’s dialogue becomes more difficult to hear over the sound of the plane.

She calls the front

“I asked her before she got on the plane—two hours before she got on the plane—to change her clothes,” Katie says. “She didn’t change her clothes.” She then appears to describe Nereidaa’s outfit, but she is unintelligible. “And, I asked her again before we took off to change them,” Katie continues. “And I told her that she had to change ‘em once we were in the air, so her flight didn’t get canceled and our flight didn’t get canceled. So I don’t—”

She concludes by saying she will call to the front.

In the on-screen caption, Nereidaa writes, “Watch this flight attendant threaten to call the cops and cancel our flight over my OUTFIT,” accompanied by a crying emoji. Notably, you cannot hear Katie threaten to call the police in the two-minute video.

After a commenter begged for a second part, Nereidaa posted a six-second follow-up video showing that she was not the only one on the aircraft wearing shorts. The passenger she films appears to be wearing shorts that are as short or shorter than hers. They are also opaque.

‘Illegal behavior’

In this video, she also shows a red notice card that Katie gave her. She says, “After handing me this notice, she talked with the pilot & let me be. Must have been told she was in the wrong.”

The notice reads:

NOTICE TO CEASE OBJECTIONABLE AND ILLEGAL BEHAVIOR

Your behavior is violating federal law. Your immediate cooperation is required if you wish to avoid prosecution and removal from the aircraft at the next point of arrival.

THIS IS A FORMAL WARNING THAT FEDERAL LAW PROHIBITS THE FOLLOWING:

  • Interference with an airline crewmember. (14CFR 91.11)
  • Smoking on any Frontier flight, including in the lavatory. This includes the use of vape products. (14CFR 121.317)
  • Drinking any alcoholic beverage unless provided by a crewmember. (14CFR 121.575)

An incident report will be filed with the Federal Aviation Administration. Your immediate cooperation is required if you wish to avoid possible prosecution by law enforcement and/or the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The Federal Aviation Act provides for civil fines of up to $10,000 and, in the case of interference with the performance of a crewmember’s duties, imprisonment for up to 20 years, or both.”

It seems she was served this notice as her refusal to change was seen as “Interference with an airline crewmember.”

Another flight attendant gets involved

In a subsequent follow-up video, Katie brings one of her co-workers and says Nereidaa will have to talk to her. The co-worker asks the TikToker to stop filming, which she refuses because she wants documentation of the situation.

In another video, posted before the one on the flight that received 1.4 million views, Nereidaa shows Katie telling her pre-flight that she is violating the dress code. She tells the passenger, “I don’t, like, wanna embarrass you or anything.” The passenger then shows what she was wearing: a gray tank top and pink shorts. The shorts are quite short, but they are not see-through as Katie claimed.

Nereidaa further explains the situation in another follow-up video. She says when Katie approached her pre-flight and said her shorts were too short, she initially agreed to change to avoid conflict. However, due to the rainy weather in Atlanta, all her other clothes were wet. On top of that, she noticed other people in similar attire and wondered why she was being singled out. She approached management, explaining her situation, and was told her outfit was fine, so she did not change.

She boards without issue.

The problem came when she went to the bathroom mid-flight, and Katie caught her on the way back to her seat. Noticing that Nereidaa hadn’t changed, she made the request again. When Nereidaa said others were wearing shorts as short as hers, she says Katie then changed her reasoning to the shorts being see-through. Nereidaa says that after being held in the back for 10 minutes, she was finally instructed to take her seat.

She says she later put on a pair of damp black shorts over her pink ones to avoid conflict. Nereidaa adds that after receiving the red notice, she expected to be approached by law enforcement upon landing, but was not. She also says she contacted Frontier.

In another follow-up video, she shows her chats with several Frontier workers. Each apologized for her experience and said it does not meet their standards. They assured her that her concern has been escalated to the appropriate team.

‘Is she drunk? She sounds very drunk?’

As previously stated, many viewers in the comments section of the video on the flight accused Katie of being drunk. Several also questioned why she was making a big deal of the situation when they were already in the air. Even flight attendants chimed in and said what passengers wear is none of their concern.

User Lolo said, “Uhhh that stewardess is drunk. … I watched all the parts & this is absurd.”

“Not her calling for help saying SHE is the one being harassed … be so for real,” user Talia Rose wrote.

User Hola said, “I’m a Flight Attendant, what you wear isn’t my concern.”

Another flight attendant similarly wrote, “As [a] flight attendant that’s the gate agents job.”

What is Frontier’s dress code?

The Mary Sue was unable to find a specific section on Frontier’s website addressing passenger attire. However, it was able to find something in the company’s Contract of Carriage.

It states, “Frontier may refuse to provide transportation to any person and may require that a passenger leave an aircraft or be removed from an aircraft for the following reasons, in which case no refund to the original form of payment will be due and Frontier will have no further liability.”

Item 10 of this section notes that Frontier may refuse to transport “Any passenger who is barefoot and over 3 years of age, unless required to be barefoot for medical reasons, or who is not otherwise fully clothed in clothing that is not lewd or obscene, threatening, intimidating, or would be objectionable to reasonable persons.”

Given that no one else seemed to have a problem with her shorts, it would seem that they are not “objectionable to reasonable persons,” and Nereidaa was not in violation of the Contract of Carriage.

She isn’t the only passenger to experience this

One woman says Southwest Airlines refused to let her board her flight because her shorts were too short. Another said Spirit Airlines kicked her and a friend off a flight because they were wearing crop tops.

What’s up with these dress code policies?

In an article addressing what you should wear on a flight, a former flight attendant notes that policies against showing skin aren’t about promoting modesty or purity culture; they’re about safety.

She said that in the event of an emergency, revealing clothing could be dangerous: “Sure, they might look cute on Instagram, but during an evacuation, they’re a recipe for burned thighs and scraped skin. Sliding down that inflatable ramp with your skin exposed – ouch. It’s not glamorous; it’s painful and dangerous.”

In an email to the Mary Sue, Frontier shared the following statement: “We are in contact with the customer and are currently investigating the matter.”

The Mary Sue contacted Nereidaa via TikTok comment and direct message, and Instagram direct message.

A preschool Valentine’s Day party. A pair of craft scissors. And one very emotional “first haircut” that didn’t go as planned.

What happened next? A mom’s decision that turned heartbreak into healing—and inspired millions through a viral TikTok.

Alexis Salerno (@lexfsal) shared the now-viral moment after her 4-year-old daughter had her hair cut by preschool friends during a playdate. It was her daughter’s first-ever haircut—and it wasn’t by choice.

“The girls got a hold of a pair of craft scissors from the craft station and cut my daughter’s hair. My daughter is a bit shy and the youngest in the group. She shared with us that while she didn’t tell them to stop in the moment, she didn’t want her hair to be cut. This was my daughter’s first haircut, her hair was down to her lower back, I was distraught looking at her soft baby curls on the floor,” Salerno told Newsweek.

A preschool mishap, a first haircut, and a viral TikTok moment

After calling her husband home from work, Salerno took their daughter to a local salon. The stylists tried to reshape what was left of her long curls, but emotionally, the loss lingered.

“Many evenings she cried and asked her daddy to draw hair on her back, asked if he could make it grow back, and would cry in the evenings before be,d saying ‘I don’t feel like myself, I miss myself. I don’t like my little hair. Mommy, how do you spell Please don’t ever cut my hair agai,n friends?’” she shared.

It was a haircut that carried the weight of personal reinvention. So Salerno made a bold, love-filled decision.

“Now she says we both have ‘little hair’.”

Salerno, who had worn her hair waist-length her entire life, chopped it all off into a chin-length bob—and documented it in a viral TikTok that has since earned more than 2.9 million views.

When I picked her up from school with my bob, her face lit up. She was SO excited. She ran over and gave me a big hug. Now she says we both have ‘little hair’ and she matches mommy,” Salerno told Newsweek.

To help her daughter see the beauty in her new look, Salerno and her husband went all in: a pixie-cut Barbie, playing music by Pink, and pointing out strong, short-haired role models from athletes to actors.

“My husband and I did everything we could to celebrate her new ‘do… and continued to tell her how special she was, no matter the length of her hair and that being different is cool,” she said.

Viral TikTok love—and one powerful message

The TikTok video sparked a wave of support and admiration across the platform.

The social media reaction has been wild! I’m new to TikTok and honestly still learning how to use the platform. People are generally being so kind and supportive,” she said.

She also clarified that the incident didn’t happen at school, despite what some commenters assumed.

Other people are assuming this happened in school and are blaming the teacher they think is responsible for allowing this to happen. I’ve commented to clarify this happened outside of school,” she explained.

Salerno is clear: while the moment was upsetting, it became an opportunity to model something deeper.

“I fully understand these are young kids and mistakes happen, I think everyone has learned from it. We have been able to teach our girl about resilience at a young age and that we’ve got her no matter what life throws at her,” she said.

And for herself?

I’m actually really liking the shorter locks, it feels freeing and it’s nice to have a change after 30+ years of the same style,” she added.

Customer orders glass French doors from Lowe’s. Man carrying door for installation(l) Lowe's Store Front(c) white door with glass showing(r)

A Lowe’s customer demanded answers from the home improvement store after her French doors were delivered and installed. In a viral TikTok, Audrey (@audreycole52) reveals the condition her mother’s doors were in, blaming Lowe’s for a costly mistake.

Audrey begins her TikTok showing the French doors. The glass panels are all covered in a white film, except one where someone tried to peel it off. Audrey says they installed the doors as is, with the installer telling her mother that it “was just a covering.”

“I worked at Lowe’s for 10-plus years and I worked in the door department,” Audrey reveals. “And when I got here, I thought this white was weird on the glass.”

She gets closer to the one panel that is peeled off and says, “Come to find out, there is paint over the plastic covering.”

So when her mom tried to peel the covering, it created an “absolute mess” of paint flakes on the floor. Not to mention, it would be a huge headache to remove every single covering on each panel.

“I have never seen doors come like this in the years that I was at Lowe’s,” Audrey says.

What did Lowe’s say?

According to Audrey, after much back and forth with Lowe’s, they only offered a $250 credit for the mistake. The store also told them to just “soap it” to remove the covering, which Audrey says “does not seem right.”

Her parents, who are elderly, would have a challenging time soaping and removing paint from 40 panes of glass, she says. “That is a lot to ask somebody to do when they paid Lowe’s to install this.”

Audrey adds in the caption, “Even after she had initially contacted the install department about it, the installer called her and said he had only seen this one other time and the customer had refused it.”

People place the blame on Lowe’s

Several viewers speculated that Audrey’s mom’s doors were probably returned and resold to her.

One top comment read, “These were 100% painted then returned!” which echoed the sentiment of several other comments.

Others who said they worked for Lowe’s agreed that it was on the store to remove the covering before installation. Some lamented the quality of Lowe’s customer service from yesteryears.

“Lowe’s today is so much different from early 2000’s Lowe’s,” one said. “They’re awful now.”

How can you remove the covering?

If you find yourself in Audrey’s mom’s shoes with no support from Lowe’s, some user shared hacks to get rid of the covering quicker.

“All you do is use a razor blade.. cut around the edge,” one said. “They come like this so that the glass does not get scratched and also in case you want to paint them. I think that the majority of them are made out of Poplar.”

Another echoed, “Cut the rectangles with a razor then peel. It might come off easier.”

@audreycole52 @Lowe’s My mom bought these french doors from Lowe’s and when the installer came out he told her there was some sort of covering on the windows. I was not there and she didn’t know any better and just thought it was like a milky white plastic covering. Turns out they painted over the plastic that covered the glass and when she tried to take it off, paint flakes went everywhere. She went back and forth with Lowe’s install dept and the store she bought it from and the best they could do was a $250 credit. She wouldn’t be able to hire someone to do all of that just for $250 and also she shouldn’t have to. This was thier mistake and they should fix it. Even after she had initially contacted the install department about it, the installer called her and said he had only seen this one other time and the customer had refused it. He also failed to adequately describe what this “covering” was before he installed the doors. #Lowes ♬ original sound – Audrey

A happy ending

In a follow-up TikTok, Audrey shares that Lowe’s contacted her mother and will be sending someone to fix the doors.

“Thank you to everyone who commented and tagged them!!” she wrote.

The Mary Sue reached out to Audrey via TikTok message and Lowe’s via email.
