The upcoming Highlander movie will be a family affair, as wrestler Drew McIntyre has joined the film as Henry Cavill’s brother.

Per Deadline, the two-time WWE champion will play Angus MacLeod, brother to Cavill’s Connor. In the original movie, Angus was played by James Cosmo; he’s one of Connor’s cousins featured in flashbacks to the 16th-century Scottish Highlands. After Connor died and experienced his first Quickening, Angus was the only one who didn’t reject him outright and ordered their clan to banish his cousin rather than burn him at the stake.

Highlander is McIntyre’s second acting project following The Killer’s Game from February and reunites him with that film’s lead, Dave Bautista. In Highlander, the pair are joined alongside Cavill by the previously cast Russell Crowe, Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, Marisa Abela, and Max Zhang. Director Chad Stahelski previously stated this reboot would bring with it some new additions to the series’ mythology, including some new Immortals.

Pre-production on Highlander was delayed after Cavill’s recent training injury. Production is now set to begin in early 2026. We’ll have more news on the Highlander reboot as it emerges, which will clearly take some time while Cavill heals up.

Kelly Osbourne is jumping to the defense of her late father and his hometown … after WWE star Becky Lynch cracked a crass joke about him on “Monday Night RAW.”

Ozzy’s daughter went off on IG in response to Becky’s head-turning remarks … calling her a “disrespectful dirtbag.”

She continued unloading with … “Birmingham would not piss on you if you were on fire.”

Kelly then takes aim at WWE … blasting the organization “for allowing such things to be said about my father and his home!!!”

ICYMI … Becky and Nikki Bella were in a heated confrontation in the ring ahead of their upcoming Intercontinental Championship match this Sunday.

Lynch told a crowd of Birmingham fans she wouldn’t do the match in their city … going on to say, “The only good thing that came outta here died a month ago” — which triggered a chorus of boos.

She doubled down on referring to the Prince of Darkness … adding, “But in fairness to Ozzy Osbourne, he had the good sense to move to L.A., a proper city. Because if I lived in Birmingham, I’d die too.”

Needless to say … the crowd wasn’t having it, and neither is the Osbourne family.

At WWE Night of Champions, Cody Rhodes and Jade Cargill claimed the titles of King and Queen of the Ring. The tournament has taken place on WWE Raw and SmackDown for several weeks. The winners of the tournament receive championship matches from their respective brands at WWE SummerSlam.

Cody Rhodes Beats Randy Orton at Night of Champions

Rhodes, up against his former tag team partner and his friend Randy Orton, opened the show in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Their friendship played a huge part in the match as did a back injury that Orton was selling most of the match. Eventually, Orton realized that to win, he’ll need to actually beat Rhodes. Things shifted thereafter, but Rhodes got the better of Orton with a CrossRhodes. In his post-match comments, he vowed to “get the ball back” from John Cena at SummerSlam.

Jade Cargill says a storm is coming to SummerSlam

Cargill — with perhaps her biggest singles challenge yet — faced a returning Asuka. After losing the Women’s Tag Team Championships, Asuka underwent surgery for her injuries. It kept her out of the ring for a year, but she returned just in time for Queen of the Ring. Meanwhile, Cargill returned earlier this year with her sights on Naomi. Naomi won the Women’s Money in the Bank last month. Cargill — who dressed as iconic Marvel hero Storm — will face Tiffany Stratton for the Women’s Championship at SummerSlam. In her post-match words with Byron Saxton, she noted a “Storm is coming” to SummerSlam.

SummerSlam is becoming a two-night event this year, taking place in Newark, New Jersey August 2-3. Outside of the King and Queen of the Ring matches, Gunther and Goldberg will take place at SummerSlam. Several injuries are likely the root cause of the majority of plans having to be reworked.

compartmentalize my tasks and I structure and organize things according to priority. It’s finally happening: John Cena is going head-to-head with the Best in the World at WWE Night of Champions.

Days after Cena’s loss to Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso at Money in the Bank thanks to Ron Killings (formerly R-Truth), his next match is already on the books. Cena called out the WWE locker room, seeking real competition since he has only 18 dates left in his wrestling career. CM Punk wasted no time confronting the WWE Champion on Monday Night Raw, coming face-to-face with his longtime rival. Punk’s fiery promo–highlighting his distaste for authority and the establishment–ended with him claiming he wants to restore the championship to the people.

While Punk wanted to get the challenge out of the way on tonight’s Raw, Cena had a much more controversial idea: Cena vs. Punk at Night of Champions. The last time these two faced each other one-on-one was in 2013 in a World Heavyweight Championship contenders match.

This announcement comes as a bit of a shock to fans of Punk. He’s been vocal about his feelings for Saudi Arabia in the past, so wrestling on Night of Champions is a complete 180. In 2020, Punk confronted The Miz following his statement that he was doing WWE Backstage to “change the culture.”

Miz mocked Punk’s remark, leading Punk to quote a video of Miz on X, writing, “go suck a blood money covered dick in Saudi Arabia you fucking dork.” Miz went on record that Punk apologized for his comments. In a recent Instagram Live, Punk answered a fan’s question about why he hates Saudi Arabia so much. “I’ve never been to Saudi Arabia. I don’t hate coming to Saudi Arabia,” he said.

On Friday, R-Truth was featured on WWE SmackDown. Just two days later, he announced that he would be leaving WWE. The beloved wrestler has spent two decades within WWE and it seemed like he’d be a lifer for the company. Fightful Select not only confirmed the news but also noted that it was a non-contract renewal as opposed to an in-contract one.

“I’m sorry to inform you all. I just got released from WWE,” R-Truth wrote on X. “I want to thank WWE for the ride, but MOSTLY I want to thank each and EVERYONE OF YOU who was along for the ride, Thank you for all the love, support, and appreciation you have given me over the years. Thank you.”

According to Fightful, the reaction backstage at WWE is one of disbelief. He debuted for the company in 1999 and remained until 2002. After his initial release, he found success in TNA and eventually returned to WWE, where he has remained since. Truth just competed in a program with Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

WWE Wrestlers Show Support for R-Truth

Several top WWE superstars reacted to the news on social media, including Rhea Ripley, who worked with him during his Judgment Day stint. “I love @RonKillings It’s guaranteed joy when he’s a part of a segment,” she said. “He’s also my dad’s favorite WWE Superstar of all time. The McAfees are bummed aht but we all know RTruth will continue to bless the world with his BIG ass brain THANK YOU TRUTH.”

Former WWE Champion Big E wrote: “No one made me laugh backstage more than Ron. I’ve known this man for 13 years. He treated me like a brother from the very first day. Never saw him in a bad mood. A man who spread kindness and joy every chance he could.”

“Thank you for everything you’ve done for the business, the doors you opened and being a real OG to the whole locker room,” said Carmelo Hayes. “Taught me a lot about the game and how to navigate this business. Ron Killings is timeless!”

R-Truth’s former tag team partner and long-term rival, The Miz, also showed support. “Forming Awesome Truth with you was one of the best runs of my career,” he wrote. “No one made me laugh harder. Your energy, heart, and smile lit up every room…and every arena. You’re not one of a kind, you’re one in a lifetime. Love you, Truth. Keep shining.”
