Emily Ratajkowski Is Trading in Her Sambas for Speed Cats

Emily Ratajkowski was spotted in New York City yesterday donning what is believed to be the latest sneaker craze of 2024. Puma’s SpeedCat shoe, originally made for Formula One drivers in the late ’90s, might just take the summer by storm and officially dethrone the Adidas Samba. The model was seen wearing the sneakers with a casual outfit consisting of green cargo pants, a neutral-colored bomber jacket, and a black hoodie underneath, with cat-eye sunglasses to complete the look. Ratajkowski is known for employing the sartorial choices of a trendy, cool girl, and this outfit proves as much.

This isn’t the first time Ratajkowski has been seen wearing the SpeedCats. In February, the model wore the forthcoming trend to a New York Fashion Week event while donning an all-black ensemble. In December 2023, the shoe made another appearance within Ratajkowski’s street style, this time paired with track pants, an oversized leather jacket, a black crop top, and a vibrant blue beanie, along with a pair of shades, of course. On another occasion, the My Body author was seen fashioning SpeedCats with an oversized fuzzy coat while going for a stroll in Soho.

Since her public divorce from movie producer Sebastian Bear-McClard in 2023, the model seems to be allowing for some relaxation while also keeping busy. Between fashion month appearances and attending after-parties, the model is regularly seen going out for strolls, walking her adorable Husky-German Shepherd mix, Colombo, and enjoying herself in her current residence, Manhattan. Last month, Ratajkowski recently took to Instagram to debut what is now called a “divorce ring.” With help from Alison Chemla, creative director of jewelry brand Alison Lou, Ratajkowski reworked her engagement ring into two separate rings, thus signifying her separation from Bear-McClard.
