Longines Updates the HydroConquest Line with Larger Executions | WatchTime

Last year, Longines introduced the HydroConquest with a GMT function. First premiered in 2007, this popular diver’s watch with a water-resistance rating of 300 meters offered for the first time the indication of two time zones. It was presented in four stainless-steel executions with a diameter of 41mm. Now, the Swiss brand with the winged sandglass in its logo expands the watch family with three larger variants featuring a diameter of 43mm and a thickness of 12.9mm via the aptly named HydroConquest GMT 43mm.

The case of the HydroConquest GMT 43mm features alternating polished and satin-finished surfaces. It is equipped with a color-coordinated unidirectional ceramic bezel. As for the dial, Longines offers three color ways – green, black and blue, all enhanced with a sunray finish. The gilt or silvered polished hands and hour markers are coated with blue glow emitting Superluminova for perfect readability under water and in the dark. The second time zone, including night-and-day hours, is indicated by a central hand with an arrow-tip and a 24-hour scale on the periphery.

At the heart of the watch beats a Longines exclusive automatic movement. The caliber L844.5 boasts a power reserve of 72 hours and is equipped with a silicon-balance spring and other components made of non-magnetic materials. According to the brand, it is ten times more resistant to magnetic fields than the ISO 764 standard requires.

The new Longines HydroConquest GMT 43mmare paired with stainless steel bracelets with H-shaped links priced at $2,975 and rubber straps in blue or black with a price tag of $2,775.
