The Chronoswiss Strike Two Series with Horizontal Regulator

The allure of contemporary Chronoswiss designs is palpable to watch enthusiasts, as evidenced by the plethora of limited-edition models marked as sold out in the company’s online catalogue, which offers both cutting-edge models and classic designs in peaceful coexistence. The new Strike Two series unveils yet another bridge between the brand’s esteemed past, exemplified by the 1990s Chronoswiss Tora reference with its distinctive horizontal layout and promising future. The new timepieces, named “H2O” and “Golden Gear” maintain the brand’s signature characteristics while embracing a bold aesthetic.

The Chronoswiss Strike Two series boasts a sleek round case with a 40mm diameter and a 12.7mm thickness. The stainless steel 17-part case is true to Chronoswiss’ iconic style. The polished bezel is adorned with a distinctive fluted decorative ring mirrored on the screwed and satin-finished caseback, which showcases a sapphire crystal. Another hallmark of the brand, the large onion crown, has been reimagined with a deeper furrow on the side, adding a touch of modernity to its classic charm. Complementing the design, the prominent lugs feature screwed strap links.

The Strike Two Golden Gear is distinguished by its grey, vertically-brushed dial, accentuated by a black minutes ring adorned with delicate white dots. Segmented intervals of 5 minutes, punctuated by larger Super-LumiNova markers, guide the eye effortlessly. The horizontal regulator layout unfolds gracefully from left to right: small seconds, minutes, and hours. At 9 o’clock, a striking gold-coloured running seconds subdial commands attention with its hand-guilloched surface, elegantly contrasted by a sleek black ring. Positioned at 3 o’clock, another subdial, resplendent in matching gold, hosts Roman numerals to denote the hours, resting atop a twin bridge adorned with intricate detailing, secured firmly in place by steel screws. The aperture in the centre of the hour subdial affords a glimpse into the golden-coloured gears beneath. While the gold-coloured running seconds hand eschews luminescence, the feuille-shaped minutes and hour hands, featuring Super-LumiNova-painted middles, ensure readability even in dimly lit settings. Adding a touch of exclusivity, a golden plaque positioned off-centre at 11 o’clock displays the Chronoswiss logo and limited edition number.

The Strike Two H2O maintains the same horizontal regulator layout while offering a distinct aesthetic appeal. Set against a vibrant blue, textured base dial, this rendition, in contrast to the Golden Gear, H2O showcases a steel-coloured minutes ring, adorned with white Super-LumiNova dots at 5-minute intervals, interspersed with black dots for added precision. While the Golden Gear exudes chic with its gold accents, the H2O opts for a sleek steel finish, extending to the hands and visible gears, embodying a different kind of elegance.

The new Chronoswiss Strike Two Series is driven by the calibre C.6000, developed in collaboration with La Joux-Perret. This movement, visible through a sapphire caseback, boasts a ruthenium-coated finish, radial Côtes de Genève, and engravings and seamlessly complements the series’ overall aesthetic. With a 55-hour power reserve and operating frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, calibre C.6000 ensures reliable performance and features a tungsten rotor. The Strike Two series comes with a calfskin leather strap with alligator embossing, while a rubber strap option is also available for added versatility.

As exclusive offerings, the Strike Two Golden Gear and Strike Two H2O models are limited editions, with only 100 pieces each available. Each is priced at CHF 9,800. For further details, visit chronoswiss.com.
