Tudor Has Just Dropped An Unexpected Black Bay Chrono PINK

This might well be the most unexpected release of Tudor in years. A couple of months ago, we already spotted something not supposed to exist, or at least, a watch that can’t actually be acquired by the general public. Released in the frame of the partnership with Visa Cash App RB F1 Team, Tudor created a Black Bay Ceramic blue dial “team watch” only for this occasion. Well, now it’s a sort of secret release, a watch that “might not be for everyone. And that’s OK because few of them will ever be made,” (and that’s a quote from Tudor). What we know is that it’s a Black Bay Chrono Pink and… the rest seems to be a secret for those in the know. But we’ll try to know all about it during Watches and Wonders.

If you look at Tudor’s Instagram page, you’ll see that it’s a proper sea of pink. Why that…? Well, yesterday, Tudor announced partnering with Inter Miami FC, becoming the Official Timekeeper of the football (soccer) team co-owned by David Beckham, himself an ambassador of Tudor. And yes, the official colour of this team is light pink. At the same time, Tudor claims that this watch was co-created with yet another ambassador, Jay Chou, a Taiwanese singer and musician.

And then there’s this… a Tudor Black Bay Chrono Pink. Yes, that’s right, a classic BB Chrono with a light pink dial “inspired by the daring spirit of Tudor ambassadors,” and then Tudor adds that “a pink dial might seem unexpected at first but going against the grain is part of Tudor’s core DNA.” Well, there’s no doubt about that. This light pink dial on what is normally a rather serious piece of kit is more than unexpected. This was easily one of the last things I would have imagined.

Now, what do we know about this Black Bay Chrono Pink? First and foremost, it has a matte light pink dial, with black contrasting sub-counters and a black anodized aluminium bezel. Another specificity of this model is its bracelet, as it’s not worn on the traditional riveted Oyster-like 3-link bracelet found in the standard collection but on a Jubilee-like bracelet, also found in the revamped Black Bay Burgundy of 2023 with Master Chronometer movement. Other than that…? Well, apparently, nothing has changed compared to the panda and reversed panda models we reviewed here. This means a 41mm steel case, a 200m water-resistance and a Breitling-made automatic chronograph MT5813 movement inside.

As for the availability or the reference number, we can’t confirm anything yet as the watch isn’t even listed on the brand’s website. Tudor indicates that the Black Bay Chrono Pink “isn’t for the mainstream. Only a small number of examples will be produced.” And that doesn’t say much about how and where it’ll be available, and in what quantities. This Pink version is priced at USD 5,675 (identical to the standard models). For more details, please consult tudorwatch.com.
