Electrifying, action-packed, and gritty, this new dystopian film is a must-watch if you’re looking for yet another killer performance by Taylor-Joy and Hemsworth or if you’re looking for a fast-paced action film to wake up your May 2024.
Hit Man (May 24)
Glen Powell, who appears to be one of the busiest actors in the business right now, returns to the screen again in Hit Man. The film, co-written by Richard Linklater and Powell, follows Gary Johnson, played by Powell, a college professor who’s swept into a tangled web of crime, murder, and abuse after a series of seemingly unrelated coincidences. Johnson must work together with local police to help rescue a woman from an abusive relationship. Although the subject matter sounds heavy, Linklater’s genius direction turns the film into one of the most endearing rom-com of the year, making it a must-watch film for May 2024.
Gaga Chromatica Ball (May 25)
If you thought you had seen the end of concert films with The Eras Tour movie or the Renaissance movie, think again. Lady Gaga, one of the world’s most beloved pop stars, has joined the concert film club, alongside her fellow female industry titans, with the release of Gaga Chromatica Ball.
After the announcement, Gaga wrote on X: “This film chronicles a time of immense creativity…the fashion, the dance, the music. Revisiting the tour leaves me speechless the way we had each other—you all showed up for music and art in a big way, and with a level of excitement and freedom that I will never forget.”
