Powell is also set to star in Monsanto, directed by John Lee Hancock. The legal drama follows a court case where bright, young lawyer Brent Wisner, played by Powell, opposes a major U.S. chemical manufacturer. The film also stars Laura Dern and Anthony Mackie opposite Powell.
Another project in the works for Powell is The Running Man, director Edgar Wright’s latest film. The Running Man is actually a reboot of a 1987 movie based on the popular Stephen King novel by the same name. The movie’s plot follows a TV competition where contestants must flee killers on foot with the promise of massive cash prizes. This project marks Powell’s first foray into the horror and thriller genres, meaning fans have already predicted that this film will be a true testament to the actor’s skill and versatility.
