A Trio of Lavish Apartments in London Just Sold for $38.5 Million – Robb Report

London’s affluent Mayfair district has seen a surge in trophy home sales in the past year, and the neighborhood just logged one of its biggest deals yet. A businessman from Abu Dhabi recently splashed out a cool £30.45 million (or roughly $38.5 million) on a trio of residences within the Grade II-listed Greybrook House. According to Beauchamp Estates, which handled the sale, the UAE-based multi-millionaire picked up a two-floor penthouse that will serve as his main residence, plus a neighboring three-bedroom unit for hosting guests and a separate staff apartment.

“The Greybrook House deal underlines how strong the Mayfair super-prime housing market has been during the last 12 months,” says Gary Hersham, founding director of Beauchamp Estates, in a press statement. “Mayfair is currently the most sought-after address in prime Central London for wealthy home buyers from around the world.”

The duplex apartment sits opposite Claridge’s and features Art Deco interiors inspired by the iconic hotel, with tons of ornate details like oak wood floors, antique gold finishes, and elaborate marble work. The 6,563-square-foot unit, which contains five bedrooms, is capped by a private rooftop terrace.

On the top floor is an L-shaped drawing room and a dining area that’s decked out with a freestanding fireplace encased in glass. On the same level is a cocktail room with floor-to-ceiling onyx finishes, as well as a chef’s kitchen equipped with a central marble island, Vert de Terre suede banquette seating, Bulthaup cabinetry, and top-of-the-line Gaggenau appliances.

The lower floor holds the ultra-swanky primary suite, which feels extra luxurious and can be separated from the rest of the apartment should you need (or want) more privacy. The suite is outfitted with a dressing room, and an attached bath is decked out with a marble-pattered floor with antique gold trim, a walk-in shower, and a large soaking tub.

Positioned on Brook Street, the historic Greybrook House dates back to 1929, when it was originally designed as a headquarters and showroom for Bechstein, a world-renowned German-based piano manufacturer. Close to a century later, developer Fenton Whelan embarked on a three-year renovation project to turn the six-story building into a high-end residential property. According to the firm, the apartment complex is now virtually sold out.
