The Green 38mm Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 150m

Qualifying as Omega’s perfect everyday watch, the Seamaster Aqua Terra collection has long represented an elegant take on the aquatic watch or, conversely, a dress watch with a sportier vibe – take your pick. Over the years, we’ve seen countless editions of this watch, specifically following its facelift in 2017. It’s also been a testing ground for colours, as we saw with the Shades collection here. Today’s addition to the collection is a bit more classic, though. Following the introduction of a green teak-inspired dial on the 41mm Aqua Terra in 2020, it’s now time for the more compact 38mm to get this cool colour scheme.

The classic Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 150m as we all know it – understand by that the versions with a sporty style and a teak-inspired dial – is available in two dimensions, a masculine 41mm model and a mid-size 38mm edition. In any case, it’s a watch we’ve long appreciated for its versatility – we’ve named it a serious contender for the one-watch collection – and its impressive list of specifications. Great built quality, state-of-the-art movement with most of Omega’s technical solutions, serious certification and, not the least of the priorities, a timeless design.

Available in an array of colours – many using blue or grey tones, including the recent Summer Blue models – Omega surfed on the trend for green dials as soon as 2020, with the addition of this colour to the 41mm models (strap or bracelet). Surprisingly, it took almost four years for Omega to release the same colour in the mid-size collection, but here it is.

Strictly speaking, nothing can differentiate these new 38mm editions from the existing 41mm models apart from the dimensions. As such, it has the same green PVD-coated dial, combining a sunray-brushed finish and the classic horizontal teak pattern. Rhodium-plated and brushed hands and markers, all filled with Super-LumiNova, complete this nice dial – it’s really a lovely colour that plays a lot with the ambient light. The date sits at 6 o’clock and is printed on a tone-on-tone disc.

As with the 41mm edition, the green 38mm Seamaster Aqua Terra 150m is available on a brushed/polished 3-link stainless steel bracelet with a folding clasp or an integrated, structured green rubber strap with grey stitching and fold-over clasp (lug width 19mm).

For the rest, no surprises. All specifications are identical to other colours of the Aqua Terra 38mm, with a 12mm thickness, 45mm length and a stainless steel case equipped with sapphire crystals, a screw-in crown and 150m water resistance. Inside the case and visible under the sapphire back is the in-house Master Chronometer automatic calibre 8800, with 3.5Hz frequency, 55h power reserve, co-axial escapement and strong resistance to magnetism.
